Fenerbahçe Women's Football

[edit]

Hi! First of all, please be polite when making edit summaries. On the other hand, I guess we are nearing an WP:WAR. If you have a WP standard or regulation that the football team roster is sorted always after club numbers, then please tell me where I can learn more about it. Otherwise, when all the players' position are known, it is much better to sort after the position. When most of players' position are unknown, then a sorting after the club number is more useful. I appreciate to have your opinion before I resort the roster. CeeGee 11:45, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A pointer on policy

[edit]

OK, you've been here for a while, so you should have heard of a few policies and guidelines and possibly even helpful essays which interpret them by now, several of which are relevant to your recent changes to the 2021-22 Fenerbahçe S.K. season article. I'll list them here: WP:CITE, WP:VERIFIABILITY, WP:RS and WP:TRUTH. This list is by no means exclusive, and I would expect you to be aware of these by now, but just in case you aren't, here they are, and please read all of them.

I do not dispute the correct-ness of what you added, but I do have an issue with it not being sourced. If it is information already available in the existing sources for the article, then please include inline citations to those sources, per WP:CITE, and if not, then find reliable sources for it, and add those to the article, with inline citations, per WP:CITE.

If you have any further questions please let me know, and I will endeavour to assist. Mako001 (C)  (T)  03:54, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on New Gaziantep Stadium requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. "Turkey" vs. "Türkiye"

[edit]

in spite of the Erdogan government's proclamation, the English-language WP:COMMONNAME of this country remains "Turkey", and it is Wikipedia policy to use that name. Please don't make any similar changes to other articles. Please see the WP:COMMONNAME policy page for more information. — The Anome (talk) 19:55, 25 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have read your warning. But the edit I made is on the infobox. Turkey's official name in the eyes of the United Nations has now been changed to "Türkiye". Although this seems to be a declaration of the Erdogan government, the name "Türkiye" is used in the international arena. You can also see on the pages of the President and Vice President of Turkey that the page name remains in English as per the Wikipedia policy, but this is only applied on the articles and information boxes. Considering all this, I want you to reconsider. Fatihoztrk950 (talk) 09:09, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Turkey" vs. "Türkiye"

[edit]

Hi! I saw you used the name "Türkiye" as the name of the country generally known in English as "Turkey" in your recent edit.

While this is indeed the correct name for that country in the Turkish language, in spite of the Erdoğan government's proclamation and the United Nations' adoption of their preferred name, the English-language WP:COMMONNAME of this country remains "Turkey", and it is Wikipedia policy to use that name when writing in the English language in Wikipedia's voice.

Please note that this is not because of anti-Turkish bias or a desire not to keep up with the times; it's that English Wikipedia follows English language usage, not prescriptions by any one group, no matter how official. Please be assured that if mainstream English language use changes (as it did, for example, with "Bombay" changing to Mumbai and "Peking" changing to Beijing), English Wikipedia policy will follow that change, for exactly the same reason that it resists the change now. The WP:COMMONNAME and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (geographic names) pages have more information on this.

If you would like to dispute this, please take this up at Talk:Turkey, where the issue has been discussed repeatedly and at great length. Please don't make any similar changes to other articles unless this is first endorsed by community consensus. — The Anome (talk) 16:53, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2023–24 Süper Lig moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 2023–24 Süper Lig, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:40, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Start date of ministers

[edit]

You changed the start date of all ministers in Turkey to 7 June when their oath in the parliament. Taking an oath of ministers in Turkey isn't an legal obligation, just a symbolic ceremony. Ministers begin their offices on the day when publish their appointment of president's decisions in the Official Gazette. For your information. Uncitoyen (talk) 23:06, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In the previous period, the date of taking the oath was shown as 10 July, in Presidency sources and other sources. That's why I made such an arrangement. Fatihoztrk950 (talk) 10:52, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's a little confusing. According to the Constitution of Turkey, the MPs and the president must take an oath in the Parliament in order to start office officially. Now in some cases, the ministers take the oath a few days after their appointment. For example, newly persons in some ministries in the 66th Government didn't take an oath in the Parliament of Turkey on the day they were appointed, however served as a minister. The President taked an oath in on 9 July 2018. The appointment decision of ministers was taken on 9 July, published in the Official Gazette on 10 July and the ministers taked an oath in that day. In 2023, some things were a little more complicated because all the former ministers became new MPs. So the ceremony oath of the newly appointed ministers and the obligatory oath ceremonies of the former ministers who were elected new MPs were a bit delayed. Your edits were normal in difficult process of Turkey, but not true. Thanks. Uncitoyen (talk) 11:21, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your feedback. I got more accurate information on this subject. :) Fatihoztrk950 (talk) 13:03, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Fenerbahçe23.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Fenerbahçe23.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Turkey. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Austronesier (talk) 21:02, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
