Speedy deletion nomination of Mandee Rene
[edit]A tag has been placed on Mandee Rene requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Mandee Rene, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 07:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't doubt it exists, but the sources seem doubtful., and the categories you added do not exist. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 09:44, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- FashionModelEditor, your outburst at Seb az was entirely unnecessary. He never said Passion Revealed is not legitimate, he just pointed out (correctly) that your article currently relies entirely on one source, which is bad writing (if you've been a journalist for 20 years, you ought to know that), and that the article has not been added to categories. You should welcome constructive criticism, not getting upset over it.
- And there is no rule that Wikipedia editors aren't allowed to comment on articles. This is a collaborative project. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 19:28, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- If you're "looking for advice", then ask for it—don't show up at people's talk pages with rude messages.
- Try looking at the Wikipedia tutorial and WP:Your first article for information on editing. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 22:00, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
- Moreover, (and in reference to your message) contesting an article's notability is a usual procedure and does not require "doing one's research"; providing evidence of a topic's notability is the author's responsibility, not the other way around.
- Secondly (and as an advice for future endeavors), it is best to voice your objections and thoughts on the article's talkpage, because the person putting the tag on the page is hardly ever the person actually executing deletions.
- As a 3rd note: though my comment might have come across as rude (or whatever word you want to choose here) to you, in "wikiland" it was actually quite polite. Usually, I'd just slap a standardized template on someone page since I am watching tons of junk being produced every day. Your article did not seem outright junk, hence a small personal note. Dont get discouraged, you'll come across people much worse than me around here. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 05:07, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Mandee Rene, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you.Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 09:47, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:42, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Mandee Renee
[edit]I've moved your article out of article space and into your userspace: User:FashionModelEditor/Mandee Rene. Since it is still under development, it should not be in article space until it's ready; specifically, it will be deleted if it doesn't satisfy the Wikipedia notability criterion described at WP:Notability (people). When you think the page is ready to be moved into article space, you can request a review to see if other editors agree that it satisfies the requirements. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 22:44, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
"Magazine Cover" additions
[edit]Hi. I've removed the sections you added to a few articles with the subtitle of "Magazine Covers". For the most part, high profile celebrities and models are going to be featured at various times on magazine covers. Because of that, there is no solid rationale for adding a subsection to mention one out of, in some cases such as Eva Longoria Parker, would conceivably number in the hundreds. One mention is singling out a cover over all the rest, which is POV. Hundreds of mentions dilutes the notability of the covers. In either case, this isn't relevant content. Thanks. Wildhartlivie (talk) 02:04, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Do not come to my talk page to lecture me on what is counterproductive. I clearly explained to you why your addition of a single magazine cover appearance is inappropriate. Now I note that others have expressed a concern that you are perhaps affliated with the magazine - that isn't counterproductive, that is a conflict of interest and expressly forbidden. My removal of that single cover mention was entirely appropriate. Please find a different way to publicize your interests. Wildhartlivie (talk) 00:26, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
FYI conflict of interest guideline
[edit]If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. — Athaenara ✉ 15:28, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
