-Liancetalk/contribs 00:39, 17 June 2020 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of Akselos
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Akselos, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi @North8000:, thank you for reviewing the article and your comment. I am a fairly new user and still on a learning curve with Wikipedia, and have created a few other articles about organisations that have not been reviewed yet: Scantrust (COI declared and the draft went through AfC), Akselos and Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime. In case you would have the time to take a look, I would very much appreciate any feedback you might have on either one of these articles. Thank you, Factfox (talk) 21:00, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. They all look OK. Actually they all look OK. Actually they all look like a typical promotional article written by someone who is is wiki-expert enough to avoid promotional wording and list sourced factoids. If you want to go a step beyond that, pretend that you are a reader and write something that you would like to read. Happy editing! North8000 (talk) 02:25, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
- Hi @North8000:, thank you very much for your reviews and feedback. Well, what you say is definitely true. It's not so easy to find sources which express a more nuanced opinion on an organisation or its product; these would help make the article more balanced and make the reading hopefully more interesting. Also, I had a bit of a hard start with my first draft on Scantrust which was declined, and I realised I'd rather focus first on establishing notability and making sure that all statements are supported explicitly by sources (on that note I would like to mention that in the Akselos article, the source for the claim which you removed -and which I agree seems a bit astounding- is actually on page 2 of the article, which can be found at https://www.eenewseurope.com/news/digital-twin-uav-provides-predictive-maintenance/page/0/1).
- My thinking is that once the article is accepted and reviewed and I know it has a place on Wikipedia, there would be more possibilities to develop it. I have a last question: I was wondering if there was a particular reason why you reviewed the other articles but not the one on Scantrust (apart from being too bored by the reading :) ). It has indeed been accepted at AfC but not reviewed, and for me its status is stil unclear. I am very grateful for your help so far and fully understand if you are unwilling to do it. However if you don't mind checking it, I would appreciate very much as I would know where it stands. In any case many thanks for your help! Factfox (talk) 23:11, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry that I missed that that one item was sourced. Feel free to do whatever you think you should on that. I don't remember the sequence of events but did not specifically avoid the one on Scantrust. I'll take a peek.North8000 (talk) 10:03, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
