I learned how to combine my thought into the current circle and help people understand the topic they are reading. I overall experience with Wikipedia extra credit is fantastic because I get the chance to see how the community is growing with so many helps from strangers and feel their passion. I learn how to use my knowledge with citation to add credibility to the cite so that it might really help some readers. I think I might continue to edit on Wikipedia after this activity when I get the clear knowledge and I will convince people with trustworthy citation. MichaelNhy (talk) 02:10, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Week 8 / VenusL
For this week, I edited Sichuan cuisine. I added a picture of a dish called Mao xue wang which is taken on my own. Here are the diff. Mao xue wang is a famous Sichuan-Chongqing traditional dish that is spicy but very delicious. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to taste this dish before and share a picture of it for making the missing part in the article. I think this Wikipedia extra credit assignment is very interesting, because not only can I increase my knowledge in consulting various journals, but also can supplement missing information for Wikipedia so that readers can have a deeper understanding of the topics they are interested in. I intend to continue editing Wikipedia because I feel that sharing will give me a sense of accomplishment. VenusL (talk) 03:15, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Week 8/JayHTCVPN
This week, I started to try to upload an image to the article 2022 Shanghai COVID-19 outbreak. Here is the diff. I considered uploading my own picture. Then I viewed my album and found one photo I took when I was in Shanghai. It was fun to add a picture because it was like recording history. JayHTCVPN (talk) 08:46, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
- @JayHTCVPN Nice image uploaded! Please finish all parts of this assignment for this week and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 15:51, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- During the experience of editing Wikipedia, at the first stage, I used training to know the functions of Wikipedia and how to edit. Then I began looking for and editing articles that piqued my interest. I gradually found my way of finding and editing. If I treat my contribution as a job, I would state that an efficient way is important for further work. However, I view it as a hobby for imparting specialized knowledge. Like when I edited McRibs, I knew where it was born.
- I would definitely continue editing on Wikipedia. Now I feel like this is a way for me to give back to society. People who need knowledge can do research on Wikipedia. Once they use the articles I edited, I help them. Also, we spend most of time doing in one area or industry, which means our knowledge can easily be limited to one single field. Editing Wikipedia will bring me random knowledge for enriching my mind. JayHTCVPN (talk) 09:22, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- @JayHTCVPN Nice edits on this final article, and thanks for the overall feedback on this. I hope you find Wikipedia editing useful and continue with it. Let me know in the future if you ever need any support or help with it. Current with Week 8. FULBERT (talk) 00:48, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

Week 7/BL33701
This week I edited Central bank digital currency. Here is the diff. I added the impact of CBDC on business and also added citations. I think this article gives a comprehensive account of CBDC and also gives me an idea of the risks CBDC is currently facing.
The second article I edited is Web 2.0. I added more about Web 2.0 and a related citation. Here is the diff. In my opinion, the most important part of this article is the conception, which allows people to understand what Web 2.0 is very intuitive. It also allows people to better understand the meaning of Web 2.0 by combining it with their life scenarios. BL33701 (talk) 21:41, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Week8 / Jaynean
For this week8, I edited Beijing cuisine. Here is the diff. I added a picture of Beijing cuisine in Menkuang Hutong. This restaurant has been open in Beijing for over 100 years, and the pictures include the restaurant's signature Beijing cuisine. In the process of adding images, I realized the importance of copyright. Doing the Wikipedia assignment was very rewarding, not only for filling in the article gaps but also for helping others learn about information through Wikipedia in the future. At first, it was difficult to know where the article needed to be filled in, but later on, as I became more proficient, it became easier. I learned the importance of copyright and the need to check for plagiarism on the internet. If I have time, I will continue to edit Wikipedia. After all, it is a contribution to society. Jaynean (talk) 06:30, 3 December 2022 (UTC)

Week 8 / Kathyljy
For this week's assignment I added a photo I took at Suzhou Museum when I was visiting Suzhou this year. Here is the diff [7]. This museum is one of the latest art pieces of Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei before he passed away. Suzhou is his home city, I think it is very meaningful and the place is very beautiful and worth going. Overall, this wiki assignment helped me gain knowledge on how the contents in wikipedia was created. Also, why academic papers does not uses wikipedia as credible resources. From this experience, I learnt how to paraphrases, find reliable resources, and summarize an article in several sentences. At the beginning of the assignment I was struggled to find what need to be added in a well-developed wiki page. However, after eight weeks of practice I am very confident on finding what's missing in a wiki page. I would like to continue edit wikipedia in the future because I think this practice really contributes to the wiki community and I should be one of the community as Wikipedia is so useful in daily life. Kathyljy (talk) 09:28, 4 December 2022 (UTC)

The ariticle I add the citations are about the Three-child policy and Tax on childlessness. I add the part of detail about the reason leads to the population problems in China. Here are the Diff and Diff. This is the last work for adding the citation on WIKI. I think it is meaningful for us to provide the extra information to the other readers. - @Riven3388 Please finish all parts of this assignment for this week and then ping me here. I will then take a look at it and reply. FULBERT (talk) 01:41, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Throughout the assignment of Wikipedia extra credit by critical reading and research analysis, I found that it is a really interesting and meaningful experience in the graduated study. In the beginning, I am afraid of the difficulty in adding the citation and content. However, I feel interested when I get familiar with the process. Moreover, I gain valuable experience on working the assignment. First of all, I realize the importance of copyright of the article. We should always add the citation and reference when raising an argument in order to increase credibility. More importantly, I think the Wikipedia is made by the contribution of every readers. We should appreciate the volunteer who edit the article and bring knowledge for us. I would be great helpful for the rerader to expand their knowledge and gain inspiration for the academic research. Therefore, I would like to continue the editing on Wikipedia and I hope it would help more perple in the future. Riven3388 (talk) 07:29, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

Week7/Lbw119
I edited tow articles this week about video gaming. The first one is WeGame, here is the diff. The second one is called Bilibili, which is a cite I use to watch game videos, and here is the diff. I found that is interesting to learn things about those gaming companies itself. Lbw119 (talk) 18:33, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Lbw119 Your first edit does not fulfill the Wikipedia policy of using reliable, third-party WP:INDEPENDENT published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy WP:RELIABLE. As discussed in the assignment and class, always use a reliable source, such as an academic journal article or another high-quality reference. Avoid blogs, corporate websites, reviews, press releases, sources where we cannot determine author expertise or bias, and opinion pieces as they generally do not count as reliable sources. Please either assign yourself a different article and add a credible source that is needed to it or find and cite a more reliable source to the one you edited. Ping me here when done, and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 12:30, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

Week 8/Kaisery
I insert a photo of a Cantonese cuisine- Shunde Yu Sheng. Here is the diff. Kaisery (talk) 04:59, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- In this process, I learned how to edit on wikipedia, and a lot of previous tutorials on plagiarism and such. Before, I would rely more on search engine results. It is now found that the results of search engines will have deficiencies and omissions. I think I may edit wikipedia less in the future, because I may use wikipedia relatively less. I feel the more authoritative the article, the information may be more accurate. Kaisery (talk) 05:06, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Kaisery Nice image you added for Week 8, and glad you found this assignment a useful experience. Let me know if you ever need assistance with Wikipedia in the future, and I hope you continue making positive and helpful contributions! FULBERT (talk) 12:38, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

Week8/Omnicass
For this week, I added a picture to the article Video game monetization. I added a picture of PlayStation Plus as it is an iconic subscription-based gaming service mentioned in this article. Here is the diff. I realize there aren't many free-to-use pictures and sometimes maybe it is better to use your own photo for article editing. Overall, this Wikipedia editing assignment is a very new and kind of unexpected experience for me. I enjoyed it. Even though I knew that Wikipedia is an open-sourced platform where everyone could make some edits, I didn't understand the specific process and rules in this community. I believe it is useful for me to learn about them. In the future, I think I will continue Wikipedia editing when I have the passion for some subjects or topics and I would be willing to do more research to make the editing more informative and reliable. Week7/Bh2471
In week 7, I edited the Amazon prime. I included in the wiki the "buy with prime" that Amazon launched this year for prime members. Amazon has spent billions of dollars in recent years building up its logistics and distribution centers, offering free, fast, next-day delivery to Prime members, which has become one of its key strengths. The target group of merchants will be independent merchants, who will be able to store their goods at Amazon's designated warehouses, which will use its sophisticated logistics system to deliver the goods to customers after Prime members place orders. Here is the diff.
