Content for my deleted Page
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time out to review my page submission.
I have learned that you have deleted my page.
It states the reason : G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion (TW)
Would you please let me know what exactly was promotional in my page's content? I have tried my best to give a general opinion about the hotel and used a few articles as resources which talk about the hotel's recent events.
I would also like to view the content of the page as I don't have it saved anywhere else.
Since only you have the access to view the deleted pages, can you please give me the access to view my deleted page's content?
Once you let me know the reasons behind deleting my page,I will modify my content accordingly and submit it again.
My page is titled as Draft:Hyatt Regency Mumbai, the link to which is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Hyatt_Regency_Mumbai
Thank you so much

- @Anchal17: Hi, Draft:Hyatt Regency Mumbai was deleted because the nature of the page largely focused around the hotel's rooms, services, and facilities; it was promotional in nature more than anything else. There was a lack of significant coverage from independent reliable sources which establish the hotel's notability. I implore you to take look at the notability guideline for organizations and companies for a better understanding of what is required of such articles. — ξxplicit 00:02, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Explicit: Thank you so much for responding. Sorry to bother you again but please consider JW Marriott Mumbai which says that the hotel has great ocean view rooms and suites, which is also promotional. Why wasn't this page deleted? Also, could you please restore my article so that I can work on the existing content? Anchal17 (talk) 06:12, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Anchal17: Your draft page was deleted because another user marked it for speedy deletion as being overly promotional. JW Marriott Mumbai was not, but I will give it a look to see what needs to be done. Please note that this is a "other stuff exists" argument, which fails to address the concern of the page originally deleted. I can send you the page's contents via email once you enable other users to do so via the "Preferences" link at the very top of the page. — ξxplicit 02:03, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Explicit: I have made the changes in the preferences. You can email me the content at anchalagrawal_17@yahoo.com. Thank you so much. Anchal17 (talk) 06:13, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Anchal17: I've sent the email. — ξxplicit 03:06, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Pearse Park (Cambuslang)
Hi, I see you deleted this page last week due to lack of notability. I don't disagree with that, particularly as the park has not been used for its intended purpose for some time. However the land still exists (the goalposts have gone and the grass needs cut, but for the moment it is clearly a playing field# and in my opinion it is of minor interest to people living locally who may be unaware that it is/was a GAA field rather than rugby, so I am hoping to add some of the information as a side note on the page for the district where the field is located #Eastfield, Glasgow#. I am also planning more changes to improve that page. If you agree this would be acceptable, could you maybe send me the text of the deleted page if you are able to do so? Thanks. Crowsus #talk# 21:41, 25 October 2016 #UTC#
- @Crowsus: Hi, I can email you the text, but I can also restore the article so you can improve on it. Which option would you prefer? — ξxplicit 00:02, 26 October 2016 #UTC#
- @Explicit: Hi thanks for the reply, the text would be fine, I don't have anything to add to the page and you'd know better than me if it is worthy of its own page, but I do think it merits a small mention on the Eastfield page, thanks Crowsus (talk) 16:09, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Crowsus: It appears that you have not enabled the "email this user" function yet. You can do so by clicking on "Preferences" at the top of the page and checking the "Enable email from other users" box. — ξxplicit 02:03, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

You did a great job on conducting the result of the discussion about the images of Dragon Quest/Dragon Warrior. However, Jonny2x4 believes that his voice must be heard. I wonder whether you can undelete the Japanese front covers and then relist the discussion to the newest date. Can you do that? --George Ho (talk) 19:31, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- On second thought, after rereading the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Archive 117#Packaging art on Dragon Quest-related articles, I realize that it wouldn't be necessary. --George Ho (talk) 19:34, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- You may remove the whole thread if you want. --George Ho (talk) 19:39, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
Hey, so I left a message last week and didn't receive a response! I was wondering if you could momentarily restore the User talk:Hildestad page for me? It was for a class that I'm in and I was leaving my work there for a friend and I to work on explicitly. I understand if this was violating any rules or anything, we won't continue to use the page, but we are in desperate need of the work that was on the page for the class. It was over several hours of work that we can't afford to lose. If you could please shoot me back a message and momentarily let me just copy everything down into a seperate document it would be very much appreciated! Thank you so much! Fanfiction2010 (talk) 16:20, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
So I see you moved everything to a different page, being User:Fanfiction2010/sandbox. Would you please be able to take the old edits from the User talk:Hildestad page and put them on the new Sandbox page just so I can grab the information? Thank you! Fanfiction2010 (talk) 20:17, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Fanfiction2010: The content of the page meet two separate criteria for speedy deletion: WP:CSD#G3, which is the rationale of which it was deleted under previously, and WP:CSD#U5, as the content has absolutely nothing to do with building Wikipedia; Wikipedia is not a webhost. I am willing to email you the content if you'd like. — ξxplicit 06:00, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
@Explicit: Oh yes! If you would be able to e-mail me the content, I would be overjoyed! You have no idea how much this means to me! If you would be able to e-mail me at samhildestad@gmail.com that would be perfect! Thank you so much for understanding and being so generous! Fanfiction2010 (talk) 19:58, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Fanfiction2010: Done, email sent. — ξxplicit 01:08, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
File:Portrait_of_Han_Fei.jpg
Hi there, I noticed you removed the lack of copyright info tag on this image of Han Fei (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Portrait_of_Han_Fei.jpg). I do not often edit image pages, so it's very possible that I've made a mistake, but as far as I can see the only evidence for the copyright status is the assumption of the uploader that the image is old, which does not to me seem like sufficient evidence. The uploader has linked a source which does not have any information of the age, artist or copyright status. The uploader suggests that the image is from the Warring States era, but it does not resemble the art style of that era, nor any era of Chinese history until the 20th century at the earliest. Perhaps I have gone about this wrongly, but I added the tag to allow anyone who had copyright information time to come forward. If there is no such information, then surely it should not be on Wikipedia? I have watched your page and patiently await your reply. Thanks for your time. Retinalsummer (talk) 01:00, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Retinalsummer: The file description page contained a license tag - {{PD-art}}. {{di-no license}} indicates that one wasn't presented, which was incorrect. If you are refuting the license claim, you can nominate the image for discussion at the files for discussion venue. — ξxplicit 01:08, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
Please see note on your DYK review. Yoninah (talk) 22:50, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
Regarding the deletion of the image of Jens Peter Christensen.
Greetings Explicit, I realize you probably get a lot of inquiries regarding file deletion from people who haven't read the file criteria, so I'll just make it clear that I'm not trying to be angry or confrontational. You deleted a non-free file that I uploaded saying that it violated criterion 1 for fair use: No free equivalent. Non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose. As I explained in the template attached to the image, I have been unable to find a free image and also explained why there aren't any availaible from the body which the person works for. Have you found a free substitute or was there anything lacking in my reasoning? Or is it because of the second part of F7? On my local wiki we only use free images since our country doesn't have a fair use law, so pardon if I'm not understanding everything correctly. Best Regards, InsaneHacker (🗪) 10:27, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
- @InsaneHacker: Hi. Although the English Wikipedia allows fair use content to be utilized on the project, the non-free content criteria policy is specifically more rigid than the law in order to reduce such uses. For photographs of living people, non-free images are very rarely permitted under the first point of the aforementioned policy. Because Christensen is a living person, it is entirely plausible for a free photo to be created, even if one currently does not exist. The image you uploaded was deleted under this basis. — ξxplicit 23:54, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

File:Moaz AlShami.jpg
Hi Explicit. Would you mind taking a look at File:Moaz AlShami.jpg. You've already deleted the file once before for lack of permission, and it has been re-uploaded by the same editor. Even if the editor is the person depicted in the photo, I still think that OTRS verification is probably needed since obviously the uploader did not take this photo. It is also being used online on various websites, so it might be a copyvio. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:53, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi again Explicit. Same editor has uploaded the same photo once again after you deleted it a second time. It has already been tagged for speedy deletion by Reddogsix per WP:G12, but I am guessing it will be re-uploaded once again after it has been deleted a third time. Any idea on how to proceed with this particular editor? They do not seem to be responding to any of the warnings posted on their user talk. I am wondering if there is something on Wikipedia like c:Template:End of copyvios which could be used or whether a more direct message should be posted on this user's talk page to advise that about any further uploading of the file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:15, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Japanese sales
Hi, i read an article about "Gaon Music Chart" but i also read that you are a registered member of Oricon Chart, is it right? I need help about Lena Park sales in Japan, but i can't find information. Can you help me? --AF Inori (talk) 12:35, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins
Hello,
Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers
Hi Explicit.
A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.
It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.
If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
Some old refunds
I see that quite a few years ago you deleted Prince Edward Island Route 155 and Prince Edward Island Route 157, both as expired PRODs. I've just recently started reorganizing the PEI roads articles and for the most part these local highways don't warrant more than an entry in a list, but if someone else thought they were worth writing an article I'd like to take a look at them, if you don't mind emailing me a copy, plus any others in the "Prince Edward Island Route xxx" series if you know of them, I haven't gone through the entire series yet. I may have access to sources that past editors didn't consider. Thanks for your help. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 17:53, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Explicit. I see you closed the above discussion as "delete". However, the uploader has since re-uploaded some of the files. I wonder if you would delete them again please? I would do it myself but I am the person who nominated them for deletion in the first place back in September. Thanks, — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:20, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- Maybe it's time for a WP:G4 like speedy deletion criteria/template to be added for filesdeleted via FFD discussions? Also, just looking at the uploader's talk page, they have been warned pretty much non-stop about file-related stuff for over 10 years so maybe this is well past WP:CIR and they should be blocked or at least give a c:Template:End of copyvios type of final warning. -- Marchjuly (talk) 13:42, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- That template doesn't exist on this wiki, so I've warned him using one of my boilerplate texts from here. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:10, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Diannaa: Looks like I've been beat to it.
- @Marchjuly: G4 can also be applied to media files. As WP:GCSD states: These apply to every type of page with exclusions listed for specific criteria, and so apply to articles, redirects, user pages, talk pages, files, etc. — ξxplicit 00:32, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
- G4, good idea, I never thought of that. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:35, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

{{db-g4|Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 September 8#File:Yusof Ishak King Bhumibol and Lee Kuan Yew.jpg}}
, but maybe I was doing something wrong. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:01, 16 November 2016 (UTC)- @Marchjuly:

How should File:Yusof Ishak speech 1960s.png be dealt with? Same licensing as the others, but does not appear to have been part of that particular FFD. Also, File:Yusof Ishak's signature.gif is missing a source. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:53, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: Unless there is evidence to prove that the former is a blatant copyright violation, it will need to go through FFD. The latter can simply be tagged for lacking a source. — ξxplicit 03:03, 16 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Explicit. You deleted the screenshot per Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 November 11#File:Pikachu seizure-2.jpg, but made no mention of whether File:Denno.ogg could replace it in the articles where it was used. File:William Lygon, 7th Earl Beauchamp.jpg
Hi, Could you please add a detailed rationale to the discussion of Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 November 23#File:William Lygon, 7th Earl Beauchamp.jpg? In your decision to close the discussion, you mentioned only F5. But the discussion is precisely about the fact that the file is probably free and thus not a case of F5. (The documentation was also provided in the description page of the file.) I think in this case the closing decision should include a rationale about why the decision concludes that the file is not free. Since the file is deleted from wikipedia, can you transfer it to Commons? -- Asclepias (talk) 15:20, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Asclepias: Hi, I actually came across this file in the daily maintenance category Category:Orphaned non-free use Wikipedia files as of 24 November 2016. I didn't notice that it was listed for discussion, which was automatically closed by a bot. I've transferred the file to Commons and have adjusted the discussion closure as well. — ξxplicit 01:34, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Just wondering why you deleted this image per WP:F4 when it was marked CC-BY-SA 3.0? It was the lead image to University of Michigan Men's Glee Club so at the very worst I could have made up a FUR for it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:13, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Ritchie333: There was no evidence that the logo was released under that license. I've gone ahead and restored the file, and I also converted it to fair use. If you could, please provide a source for the image. — ξxplicit 00:20, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- I AGFed that the original uploader (who hasn't been here in 9 years) redrew it himself in Corel Draw or something similar. I've seen other people do that. Anyway, a FUR will suffice for now. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:57, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Donnie Yen Images
I was away in Shanghai for 5 weeks for business trip and I notice the Donnie Yen pictures which I uploaded are gone. I am in the process of obtaining OTRS for the pictures. If I sent the OTRS emails to wikipedia this week, will the photos be reinstated? Or do i need to upload them again?
Brazilian Tiger (talk) 14:58, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Brazilian Tiger: Yes, the images will be reinstated once permission is confirmed. — ξxplicit 00:02, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
Hi Explicit,
We are in the process of sending the email for OTRS. And I have not re-uploaded the photos as you instructed, and will look forward to the photos being re-instated once the email goes through. The photos in question are https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DY_Training.jpeg
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dy_wiki.jpg
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Donnie_Yen_Formal.jpeg Respectively.
I believe once the email is sent, the ball is in your court and there is nothing further from my part? Let me know.
PS: Update, the email is sent. =) Let me know the next steps!=)
Brazilian Tiger (talk) 08:33, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

The email has been sent over a week ago. I need the pictures up ASAP. Is there any way to expedite the process? Brazilian Tiger (talk) 13:41, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Brazilian Tiger: According to the OTRS noticeboard, there is currently a 110 backlog. It won't take that much time, but a delay is to be expected. Have you received a ticket number? — ξxplicit 00:20, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Yes, my ticket number is 2016112810006767 This is very urgent. Is it okay if I re upload the pictures first while they check for the OTRS?
Its really urgent.
Let me know.
Thanks. Brazilian Tiger (talk) 12:32, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

Your totalitarian approach of deleting my article without any dialog or help offered only shows your attitude of entitlement and impunity for your actions. My article stated the facts abut The Bronx Times. I do not have to be a rock star or to have somebody else, God knows who, write abut me and my online edition for it to exist and serve millions since 2006! Comprende? So, unless you restore my article and offer edit, which I do not see how it would be possible as there was nothing made-up in it, I will spend every minute of my time bringing your actions to the attention of whoever gave you this job. You need training at the very least to do what you have been allowed to do properly. I am deplored with your actions and attitude! I expect an immediate and meaningful response to my satisfaction. I had PRODed Rajesh Verma (journalist) on 21 November and you had deleted it on 01:29, 30 November 2016 (log here). However, I do not understand how the current article shows history dated back to 24 August 2016!?! §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 11:30, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

Again... For what reason the file was deleted this time? Seriesphile (talk · ctb) 06:22, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Seriesphile: The statement on the ITTF website is insufficient to conclude that the copyright holder allows the modification and commercial use of its images. This is discussed and explained in detail here: Commons:Deletion requests/Photos from ITTF. Unless the ITTF clearly asserts the allowance of such uses, it can not be considered a freely licensed image by any of the projects' standards. — ξxplicit 06:33, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
DYK for I Am Seven
On 15 December 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article I Am Seven, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that I Am Seven was released by Eleven9 Entertainment, a new agency in which South Korean singer Seven had invested six billion won (US$5.24 million)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/I Am Seven. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, I Am Seven), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Akwasi Frimpong Deletion
I am a contributor to Akwasi Frimpong's Wikipedia page, and was surprised to see it deleted recently. Frimpong is still a notable athlete, and is currently the first Ghanaian skeleton athlete competing internationally with plans for the 2020 Olympics. He has been racing in international contests as recently as just a few weeks ago. He also is head of BSF-Ghana, the Olympic committee-recognized bobsled and skeleton Olympic federation. I am confused as to why you deleted the page. Could you clarify, and consider undeleting it? Thanks. KMNeely (talk) 19:00, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
More files to be deleted in FFD
Hi. Thank you for closing the FFD (Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 December 7#File:Everything we create is not ourselves 2.jpg) and deleting the first file. You may not have noticed that there were more files listed in that request that should be deleted for the same reason:
- File:Everything we create is not ourselves 1.jpg
- File:Hexiangyu Death of Marat.jpg
- File:Tank Project Details.jpg
- File:Tank Project.jpg
- File:Coca Cola Project 1.jpg
Could you delete them as well? Or should I re-list them for FFD if it's more appropriate? Please let me know. Thanks! --Wcam (talk) 17:59, 16 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Wcam: None of the files were properly tagged with {{ffd}}, and deleting them would have been out of process. You will need to nominate them in a new discussion thread and make sure they are all tagged as such. — ξxplicit 23:59, 18 December 2016 (UTC)
Deletion of Lepin-logo.giv
Explicit,
I am new to adding media files and apparently did something wrong as you have deleted Lepin-logo.gif with an F4 reason. I don't understand what should be done to allow this logo.
I see many corporate logos on Wikipedia, from companies from around the world, and some of the people adding those logos seem to be unaffiliated with the mentioned company. This therefore leads me to believe the publicly available corporate logos are completely acceptable, as long as they are tagged in the proper way.
How can the Lepin-logo.gif be properly tagged and/or documented so that it can also be allowed just like the many other corporate logos? Sthubbar (talk) 00:37, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Sthubbar: File:Lepin-logo.gif was deleted because you did not document a source for the logo; this is needed to verifiability purposes. Where did it come from? — ξxplicit 01:28, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Explicit:, it came from the company homepage http://www.lepinjimu.com/.Sthubbar (talk) 02:02, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Image deletion
About a week ago you deleted this image per WP:F4. It's since been uploaded again by the same editor, and still without licensing information. Could I get you to delete it again and maybe have a word with the uploader about copyright. Thanks in advance. Sir Sputnik (talk) 14:59, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Sir Sputnik: I'll give it a look. — ξxplicit 01:32, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
I disagree with the deletion of this file. It was created in 1926, meaning that it's only copyrighted in the United States if a notice was filed and it was renewed with the copyright office within 28 years of first publication. The probability of that occurring from a football club outside the country who wasn't in the top tier at the time is extremely low. Upon reviewing the records of the US Copyright Office for 1926, I see no notice there. Would you consider undeleting and restoring it to the four articles it was automatically removed from? ~ Rob13Talk 09:28, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

- @Beatpoet: If the handbooks don't bear a copyright notice, it should be okay to upload these images under the same license. — ξxplicit 00:53, 21 December 2016 (UTC)

Recent reverts
Fair enough on the out of process nature of the tagging. I was not aware of that fact when I put them up for G4. However, I do believe that they are still copyright violations and eligible for F9. Those photographs can be found all over the Internet. For example, File:Tank Project.jpg can be found here. The others are just the same. The files are going to be deleted in five days anyways when the, correctly done, FFD times out. Just thought you should know that the images are most likely copyvios anyways. --Majora (talk) 02:51, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Majora: I don't doubt that they aren't, but because they were initially not tagged in the original deletion discussion, it's just best for the process to carry out how it's meant to. — ξxplicit 05:57, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
File:Epps, C. Flowood Police Department.jpg
I uploaded a mugshot for Chris Epps. I followed Wikipedia guidelines scrupulously, including getting opinions from the state university's freedom of information center and getting confirmation directly from the credited Flowood police department that took the image in question which explicitly stated that it was not copyrighted. I left an ample record of that correspondence. I would appreciate your restoring the image and restoring it as well to the article in question. Thank you. Activist (talk) 04:42, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
- After I posted the note above, I went to the top of your TALK page where I found that you had referred situations such as this to WP:REFUND At that REFUND page I found this instruction:
I spent hours on the phone, on email, reviewing state laws, corresponding with other Wikipedia editors and the National Conference of State Legislators, etc., conclusively verifying that the image in question was appropriate for posting. It wasn't tagged for deletion and I wasn't pinged despite having contributed perhaps 90% of the content of the article and 100% of the discussion of this issue on the article's TALK page. If I was in your shoes, I would think that an apology was in order. Activist (talk) 05:17, 22 December 2016 (UTC)Note that requests for undeletion are not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.
You are wrong on various levels, so let's start with the easiest. First, the file description page of File:Epps, C. Flowood Police Department.jpg was properly tagged for deletion with {{ffd}} as policy requires. You were promptly notified of the discussion and the file's impending deletion here. Second, as an OTRS agent at the discussion explained, the people you spoke with were clearly incorrect in regards to the copyright of the image. There are very few states (less than five) where works by said state fall under the public domain, and Mississippi is not one of them. The image you uploaded is copyrighted and not under the public domain. Lastly, since I've made a grand total of zero errors, I owe an apology to no one. — ξxplicit 05:57, 22 December 2016 (UTC) @Josve05a:, @MarchJuly:, @Ramaksoud2000:, @BU Rob13: You are, Explicit, in my opinion, which would seem to have equal weight as yours, wrong. I am not a copyright attorney, so please inform me if you are so I can be properly deferent, if appropriate. However, I got the perhaps mistaken impression that you had made the decision to delete the file somewhat autonomously. The agency that took the mugshot distributed it widely to the media, hoping obviously that it got maximum exposure. The Flowood P.D. explicitly stated in an email to me that I passed along that it was not copyrighted. The Mississippi state Freedom of Information Center told me it was not copyrighted. The National Conference of State Legislatures indicated there was no copyright violation. So you have assumed, perhaps not entirely autonomously, but also not hardly unanimously, that your judgement supersedes theirs. I became aware that the incorporation of the mugshot in the Epps article was contested. I provided substantial information that seemed to satisfy those questions. I was never informed that any other Wikipedia editor differed. The tagging had been removed. I was never knowingly invited to or aware of the discussion as to its propriety had existed. Secondly, the reservation stated by Josve05a, "...one participant in the discussion stated rather clearly: I have verified permission by the policy agency that the image is free of copyright. If the image should be used in an article or not in regards of BLP should be discussed on the article's talk page. This is is public domain No one of course, outside myself, made the effort to participate in any discussion on the article's talk page. Next, a reservation was expressed about the purpose of the inclusion of the mug shot into the WP article. I'd thought about that and looked at the articles on serial necrophiles I recalled: Jeffrey Dahmer (4 mugshots and his high school graduation photo), Ted Bundy (3 mugshots, ditto), Edmund Kemper (2 mugshots) and Gary Ridgeway (2 mugshots, who may have killed only slightly less than 100 young women). At least two of those four were cannibals. Two are still alive in prison, so I hope those weren't WP:BLP violations. Dahmer was killed by another lifer serving time for murder. Marchjuly wrote, ..sometimes it seems that these types of photos are being used more to further "punish" or "embarass" (sic) the individual than for encyclopedic relevance. I think care should be taken per WP:MUG I wasn't privy to this opinion, nor of the existence of WP:MUG. So I looked that up and it follows here: Images of living persons should not be used out of context to present a person in a false or disparaging light. This is particularly important for police booking photographs (mugshots), or situations where the subject did not expect to be photographed. So here's the contextual light in which the feelings of the subject of the article might be assessed. He and his bagman colluded to take a minimum of $1.4 million in bribes to write a minimum of at least $65 million in public contracts. That included splitting tens of thousands monthly for years from the for-profit prison operators to keep the lid on dozens of corrupt contracts, but most especially the one holding mostly teenagers at the unspeakably violent Walnut Grove Correctional Facility for which the pair got $12,000 a month. The Department of Justice, thanks to whistleblowers, got involved, as did the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center. From the lede to the article at: Walnut Grove Correctional Facility: In the court ruling, Judge Carlton Reeves of the Federal District Court wrote that an assessment of its conditions "paints a picture of such horror as should be unrealized anywhere in the civilized world."Press reports indicate the jail was run by gangs which included corrupt prison staff. The federal Justice Department said that rapes of younger inmates was common. The floors of that prison were slick with blood, almost daily. It had been accredited with top marks from the American Correctional Association of which Epps, who was acutely aware of the actual conditions there, was the President. He only resigned when his indictment was made public. He may not actually have expected to have been photographed for his most recent mugshot, only because he didn't expect to be arrested for the Halloween burglary of the home that he'd turned over to the Justice department maybe 18 months earlier. Epps made plea bargain deals to wear a wire and give up many of the bribe suppliers in exchange for a sentence of 23 years, a much lighter term than could be expected for his crimes. I can't recall precisely how I found out about the proposal to delete the photo, but I think it was because I noticed the tag which was removed. I've looked in my notifications and alerts going back a year, almost all of which I've retained, and it isn't there. I may have somehow inadvertently deleted it, but I never saw the discussion before today. Now you, Explicit, have indicated there was a consensus to delete. That certainly wasn't my impression at the point of my last communication with the OTRS volunteers, nor is it my impression now, and some of the discussion in the archived article took place before the information from me which I thought had resolved the issue was received. Activist (talk) 09:50, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'm wording this carefully to maintain confidentiality of the OTRS ticket, so my apologies, but I will not be able to expand on anything I say. Perennially, we face the problem of incoming emails from people who do not understand copyright law. We cannot treat what these people say as fact when it comes to the state of the law. The reality is that there is no law in the state in question which releases photographs taken by local or state employees automatically into the public domain. The ticket did not contain a valid statement of permission that released the image under a free license. One could still be submitted, but until it is, the file should remain deleted. This was a good call, in my opinion. ~ Rob13Talk 10:07, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

- "Public record" has nothing to do with copyright, and works aren't automatically public domain. The department would need to explicitly license it under a free license or release into the public domain, technically. Ramaksoud2000 (Talk to me) 17:14, 22 December 2016 (UTC)

Love's Gentle Maw
Hi, I was going to ask why you arbitrarily deleted Love's Gentle Maw as I was going to redirect it to Tanks of Zen but I went to the link at the top of this page and I have a pretty good idea. FYI, I am in the process of doing a major overhaul of my contributions to Wikipedia. I respectfully ask that you not deleting Tanks of Zen just yet as I have an idea about keeping the information about the band now that Wallflower (which wasn't started by me) has been tagged for notability. Thank you. Shaneymike (talk) 01:55, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
I am in the process of doing a major overhaul of my contributions to Wikipedia due to lack of notability. So far, I've redirected American Hangover to Tanks of Zen, Fools Dance (EP) and They'll Never Know to Fools Dance, Spin the World to Mistrust, Babacar (Babacar album) to Babacar (band), Neon Christ 7” and Neon Christ 2x7" to Neon Christ. See User_talk:Boleyn#Sarah_Fimm_albums. Would it be too much to ask you not to arbitrarily delete Tanks of Zen just yet? I have an idea as to how to retain the information now that Wallflower (My Sister's Machine album) (which again wasn't started by me) has been tagged for notability. I just need time to implement it. Improper image deletion
You closed Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2016 July 5#File:Knowledge Network logo.svg as "delete", but this image is substantively different from the existing logos at Knowledge Network, to the point that words alone simply do not suffice to describe the changes. Furthermore, you almost certainly didn't consider an extremely important point that is specific to this article: all of the other images are stated to be public domain. One fair use image for the article is certainly permissible! Mdrnpndr (talk) 03:22, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Mdrnpndr: Being "different" from the other logos is not a sufficient enough reason to use a non-free logo in a gallery; WP:NFG discourages such usage. The one "keep" vote failed to properly address the nominator's concern (and following "delete" opinion which is founded in WP:NFCC#8). Remember: per WP:NFCCP: There is no automatic entitlement to use non-free content in an article or elsewhere on Wikipedia. — ξxplicit 04:34, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
- The nominator's rationale was utterly incorrect per WP:NFCCP, and I quote: "Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information." (emphasis added) This criterion simply does not apply here, because there are not "multiple items of non-free content", but rather only one item. There was no other criterion mentioned anywhere in the discussion, including by yourself, and the "delete" opinion you're referring to uses a spurious argument, as the presence of a very different logo would indeed "significantly increase readers' understanding of the article topic" (consider readers who vaguely remember the channel from years ago, for example). Bottom line: you simply deleted the image because you felt that it violated policy, and that is not right at all. Mdrnpndr (talk) 21:06, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- I deleted the image because that is how I determined the consensus of the discussion. If you don't agree with my closure, you are free to take it to WP:DRV. — ξxplicit 01:07, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

Warren Winiarski's photo
Hi, we received a ticket to OTRS about a photograph that you've deleted.
Can you please check if File:2015 Image of Warren Winiarski, winemaker.jpg is the same as File:Warren Winiarski.jpg, and if the author is the same? Cheers, Ruthven (talk) 13:34, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Ruthven: Hi, the images are not the same. The deleted file shows the subject sitting down at a table with a glass of wine, facing forward, and in a sky blue button-down dress shirt. The source reads: "Joanne Lee, Warren's assistant, sent the image to me personally"; the author is "Warren Winiarski". — ξxplicit 00:09, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
- Fine, I see. There is another related OTRS ticket for that other image, and it's possible that they get solved simultaneously. Thank you! --Ruthven (talk) 10:03, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
Needing to make serious additions but you've deleted it.
The Viva Hypnosis - just around the time you deleted it, became the first stage hypnosis show in over 15 years to perform in the West End of London and be granted a Hypnosis Licence by Westminster Council. This is a huge deal, was newsworthy and generated press and needed to be updated on wiki. Unfortunately, you had deleted this page under suspicion that it was not explicitly, but somewhat promotional and MAY have broken a Wiki rule - before anybody could get to the page to update it with these facts and references. Please can I put in an appeal to request that this page is reinstated so it can be updated with the relevant references and facts that make this page considerably more notable than it was before. Thank you for your time and attention. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.27.38.198 (talk) 18:25, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
Restore: Draft:Albert Palazzo to my Userspace
Hi Explicit, I noticed you very quickly deleted my draft article Draft:Albert Palazzo; in fact in less than 5 minutes of it being tagged by User:1989, very efficient of you; yet you did not give me an opportunity to even remove/contest the tag!. This is in fact an article I have been working on offline for some time and plan to create in the main-space. In the meantime, can you please restore the draft to my userspace.
Thanks Aeonx (talk) 01:01, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Aeonx: Very well, I've restored the draft article. It was tagged for speedy deletion, after all. — ξxplicit 01:03, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Please undelete https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Wattenberg - what was purpose in deleting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.51.64.251 (talk) 01:46, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Günsel
Hello. You deleted the article as CSD G7, and noted in your summary that the creator could ask for a refund it they wanted the article back, so I thought I'd tell you that it should have been nominated for speedy deletion per CSD G4, not G7, since it was a recreation of an article deleted at AfD (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Günsel), with no improvements whatsoever, and thus should not be refunded. Cheers, - Tom | Thomas.W talk 11:20, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Thomas.W: That's correct. {{db-author}} automatically produces the edit summary, so it kind of slipped by me. — ξxplicit 00:05, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
PSD logo
Hi, I was told to discuss a PUF discussion of File:PSD logo (Mexico).svg with you. My whole argument is located here. © Tbhotch™ (en-2.5). 04:01, 14 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Tbhotch: Yup, {{PD-Coa-Mexico}} is very broad to the point where it even covers logos of association football teams, something I learned relatively recently. I'll make the neccessary changes to the file's description page shortly. — ξxplicit 00:05, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
WP:REFUND request
Hi, Explicit. I've got a narrow WP:REFUND request for you – could you place the now-deleted contents of Devyn Nekoda at User:IJBall/sandbox7 for me? I didn't realize that there was a draft at Draft:Devyn Nekoda, and I'd like to see if there's anything from the now-PRODed article that can be used to improve the draft... Thanks in advance! --IJBall (contribs • talk) 01:33, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- @IJBall: Done, contents copied to sandbox. — ξxplicit 02:45, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
File:FreeFlyer_GUI_Screenshot.jpg Deletion
Hello! I only just now noticed that the image above was deleted back in September due to "F6: Non-free media file with no non-free use rationale (TW)". I read your readme on this, but I'll confess to being unfamiliar with Wikipedia policies so I'm unsure what to do to provide a fair-use clause. I'm in a position at the software's owning company to provide such fair-use for screenshots of the tool, and I'd like a screenshot to exist on the page to improve its quality. Thoughts? 38.103.29.194 (talk) 18:20, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

Institute For Social Policy and Understanding
It appears that you deleted the entry for this non-partisan think tank based out of Washington, D.C. and Dearborn, MI for reasons of "G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion."
I would like to write a new entry for this organization, which is notable for having received coverage in third-party news sources including but not limited to Al-Jazeera, The Detroit News and Free Press, the Los Angeles Times, The Cavalier Daily, National Public Radio, Patheos, FiveThirtyEight, and the Chicago Tribune (A cursory Google search of the organization reveals its notability.)
Would you please tell me if it was the content of the previous entry that led to deletion or the very existence of the entry itself?
Finelinebilly (talk) 20:45, 9 February 2017 (UTC)finelinebilly
- @Finelinebilly: It was the content of the entry itself. Aside from no sources being citing, the article was written in the manner of promoting itself; it was accompanied with a mission statement. You are free to create another entry if you deem the content to be appropriate. — ξxplicit 00:10, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

Bangladesh Cricket Board Logo
Hi Explict. File:Bangladesh Cricket Board Logo.svg was re-added to Bangladesh national cricket team by Ashhab1323 with this edit despite them being advised about non-free image use at User talk:Ashhab1323#Non-free image usage. I didn't notice the edit until today when the file's page showed up on my watchlist. I've reverted them and was going to post something else their user talk, but noticed that Ashhab323 never responded to the previous thread. In fact, it looks like they hardly ever post anything on any talk page. So, I'm wondering whether communicating in English might be hard for them. Any suggestions on what to do in such a case? (See User talk:Explicit/Archive 24#File:Bangladesh Cricket Board Logo.svg for a previous discussion about this.) -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:25, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: English is not an obstacle for Ashhab1323, as this message suggests. It appears that he waited a few months after the messages were left on his talk page before deciding to add it back; not an uncommon tactic. — ξxplicit 01:59, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Explicit. Based upon this edit, I agree with you that English ability does not seem to be this editor's problem. The edit was reverted by different editor, but I would not be surprised if Ashhab1323 adds the logo again. Please advise on what to do if this continues. I'm all for AGF. but at some point AGF becomes WP:PACT. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:53, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
Kamehameha Schools Song Contest
Hi Explicit. You deleted Kamehameha Schools Song Contest as a prod deletion back in December 2016, but it was recreated shortly thereafter by Kamehamehasongcontest. That account was soft-blocked for a user name violation, but the same person might still be adding content as an IP. Regardless, I can see no evidence that this particular song contest satisfies WP:GNG or even WP:NEVENT. All the sources provided seem to be primary sources or user-generated stuff. I was going to prod it, but didn't notice the previous prod unitl I looked at Talk:Kamehameha Schools Song Contest. Could this be speedied, re-proded or does it need to go to AfD? -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:52, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: It will likely be recreated if deleted under prod again, so it's best to take it to WP:AFD, where at least the article can be speedily deleted thereafter if created after the discussion results in its deletion. — ξxplicit 00:07, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Category:Tourist attractions in Washington, Vermont requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and it is not presently under discussion at Categories for discussion, or at disambiguation categories.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image _ Coco Star
You recently deleted a photo for not having evidence of copyright ownership. A form confirming the rights was sent to wikimedia along with confrimation of the rights held (essentially it was a photo taken by me on a mobile device with the permission of the Artist). I generally find Wikipedia difficult to find my way around and experianced users can give non experienced users a hard time because of the coded language. In A B C language - how does one upload an image and pass on evidence of rights (and to whom) assuming the dedicated wikimedia permissions address isn't monitored? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 360den (talk • contribs) 15:45, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
- @360den: When was the email sent? Unless someone adds the {{OTRS pending}} tag to the file's description page, there is no way I would know about permission being sent. Have you received a ticket number? — ξxplicit 01:39, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
Request for restore the article
- For self-protection, I am not in logged; however, with due respect, the prob-deletion of Muslim United Nations was plainly not legitimate and was on bad-faith, even nominator did not notice on the talk page of the article creator. The organisation is absolutely not the fake one, did you check the sources. It is the conspiracy of the secret agencies of that subcontinent. Do you think that all demonstrate as fake pages??.

ZE:A Disbandment
Hello, i'll get to the point. First of all, ZE:A is still active. There's no OFFICIAL announcement for the group's disbandment. Star Empire Entertainment indeed said that the group's contract has ended but the agency DID NOT SAY anything about the group's disbandment. They said they are still in talks with the members for the contracts renewal. Junyoung's post on IG did not mean that the group is OFFICIALLY disbanded. Star Empire Entertainment still manages the members' activities, they also still UPDATES their schedules.
Second, please STOP editing the wiki page and saying that ZE:A is disbanded.
Thank you.. A ZE:A's — Preceding unsigned comment added by Autumnscent (talk • contribs) 11:00, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Image deleted by you
Hello. I added an attempt at an explanation on why Gazzo6.jpg image which had been used since 2005 in the Jane Gazzo article should be kept after it was recently flagged for non-fair usage. Been editing Wikipedia since January 2005. The image was irreplaceable and not reproducible. It was a webcam shot in a studio in BBC London during a Radio 6 broadcast. You're sure it violated fair use, being that's it's now moot? --- Wikiklrsc (talk) 19:21, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Wikiklrsc: The screenshot was deleted because it was a textbook violation of WP:NFCC#1. It was a non-free image of a living person, when a free image (the one in the infobox) exists. Justifying its use was pretty much impossible. ℯxplicit 23:57, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
Kinare (film)
Hi,
Kinare (film) has been deleted. Please help me to restore.
Thank you Rohitht@lk 16:10, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
- @RohithKumarPatali: Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request. ℯxplicit 23:57, 6 March 2017 (UTC)
I'm going to retag this image as replaceable fair use. She is alive, and per WP:NFCC #1, we do not accept such media. There's substantial discussion regarding the general issue at Wikipedia_talk:Non-free_content#Replaceable_fair_use_for_retired.2Fno_longer_publically_active_living_individuals and even the original uploader now grants it was a mistake (see this). There are no secondary sources that support her earlier visual appearance as being a significant aspect such that we need to have an image of her earlier appearance per WP:NFCC #8. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 02:40, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
At this point, I'm at a loss to understand what the uploader is intending. I've reverted my restoration of the rfu tag and placed the file at FFD. --Hammersoft (talk) 22:10, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
Considering your removal of the NFCC tag and my tag disputing it from this image, would you consider my request, made at Talk:Jane Morgan to restore it to the infobox until a determination is made at FfD? Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:30, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Beyond My Ken: I've left a comment on the article's talk page in regards to this matter. I'm aware that the image has been tagged for deletion for being orphaned by a bot; I will remove it once an agreement is reached between you and Hullaballoo Wolfowitz. ℯxplicit 00:03, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
- OK, but I'm a bit confused about what the nature of that agreement could possibly be, as long as HW maintains the position that the image is a NFCC violation. I'll try, though. Beyond My Ken (talk) 00:27, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
- Another editor found a PD image. Could you either add it to the article or remove the protection, since there shouldn't be any more edit warring? The image is at File:Jane_Morgan_Mike_Douglas_Show.jpg. Thanks in advance. Beyond My Ken (talk) 04:26, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
Deleted Image
Hi
It looks like you deleted the image https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload?wpDestFile=Leccinum.arbuticola.Alan.Rockefeller.jpg
I took this photo and I released it under a wikipedia compatible license.
I've also released it on other websites with a Wikimedia incompatible license, but I do not think that should matter.
Please undelete.
Thanks!
Alan Rockefeller (Talk - contribs) 23:48, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
- @Alan Rockefeller: You uploaded the image twice, and I deleted it the first time. In that instance, there was no license provided. The only content on the description page was the following: "Leccinum arbuticola by Alan Rockefeller. San Juan Ridge, California. See also http://mushroomobserver.org/225259". The link did not contain any statement for me to conclude what its license was. The second deletion was a result of Fastily's action, so you'll have to discuss that specifically with him. ℯxplicit 00:58, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
Oban Saints FC
Hi Explicit, could you please send me the text of the deleted page above? I don't disagree with the deletion but the club is fairly important locally, so I think it deserves more coverage on the town's article than the half a sentence it currently has. I wouldn't be adding anything which was unsourced but if I can save any time adding from the deleted article rather than going looking for it myself, it would be helpful. Thanks.
