[edit]If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. --Ahecht (TALKPAGE) 16:07, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Exotiquemen/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Exotiquemen/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
In addition to reviewing the linked materials above regarding your unblock request, you may also want to review our guidelines for creating your first article. Importantly, articles need to be supported by reliable, independent sources with significant coverage of the subject. None of the sources provided meet these criteria. Hi there! As the owner of Exotique Men, Wikipedia's conflict of interest and payment disclosure policies are relevant to you. Please review them, then reply here describing the policies in your own words, including how they are relevant to your current block. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:26, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- To clarify, I assume you don't operate your business for free in your spare time out of the goodness of your heart. You do it to earn a living/money. That makes you a paid editor. 331dot (talk) 20:33, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- yes but there is nothing on this page that states how to disclose compensation as an owner publishing his own company's wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure Exotiquemen (talk) 21:58, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- As the owner, you draw money from the company, which is no different that if you were an employee. You should just make the standard disclosure.
- Also note that "publish changes" should be understood to mean "save". The button used to say save, but was changed to emphasize that all edits are public. 331dot (talk) 22:45, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ok I have made the necessary changes to the answer to disclose that I am the owner and paid as an employee. Exotiquemen (talk) 22:55, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! Now, can you describe the conflict of interest and payment disclosure policies in your own words and explain how they are relevant to your current block? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:36, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- The conflict of interest, as indicated by the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest article, is that I am the owner of the same page I am trying to create. The payment disclosure policy is that I am the owner and as a result of being the owner I draw money from the company as indicated by user 331dot. It is relevant to the current block because my current block was suspended and I am trying to disclose my conflict of interest and payment disclosure. Exotiquemen (talk) 02:49, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you! Now, we highly discourage you from editing topics with which you have a conflict of interest, such as your company. However, if you do edit such topics, you are required to disclose not only in this conversation; see WP:DISCLOSE for information about how to properly disclose your conflict of interest. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:50, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Ok thanks. How do I get my account unblocked so that I can disclose it? Exotiquemen (talk) 23:20, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Just disclose on this page for later transfer to your user page. I would suggest doing so by clicking "edit" at the top and not "reply". 331dot (talk) 15:02, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have made the disclosure. Please let me know if I did it correctly and if I can get my account unblocked. Exotiquemen (talk) 17:56, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- The disclosure you have included on this page is the one you would include on the draft article. You should also include a disclosure on your user page, which will look a little different. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 21:21, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- I'm new to this so bear with me, my understanding is that my draft article is locked because my account is currently blocked, is that correct? Therefore I can't make changes to the draft article until I get my account blocked? So I'm trying to get my account unblocked by posting the disclosure on this page. Please let me know if I'm mistaken. Thanks. Exotiquemen (talk) 17:19, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- In addition to posting a COI notice on the page you edit, it is also advised to include {{UserboxCOI|1=Article title}} on your user page. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 18:48, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

Can you tell us about any edits you would like to make to Wikipedia beyond creating an article for your company? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 00:47, 13 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have not gotten that far yet. Exotiquemen (talk) 17:56, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- Describing the types of non-COI edits you would like to make on Wikipedia is often part of the unblocking process given that Wikipedia is not a platform for you to advertise about your company. As you think about those edits, could you also provide some reliable, independent sources that could be used to establish the notability of your company? As I stated in a previously, none of the sources provided helps establish notability, which is how we determine whether a subject deserves to be included on Wikipedia. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 21:17, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
- I thought the sources I posted were from reputable news sources - NY Post, Daily Star UK, Newsweek, Askmen.com. These sources have fact-checked my business license, tax returns and other legal documents. Can you help provide examples of sources that help establish notability if the aforementioned sources don't? Exotiquemen (talk) 17:16, 16 December 2024 (UTC)

- See Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources. WP:NYPOST, WP:DAILYSTAR, WP:NEWSWEEK, and Askmen doesn't have a redirect and there is no consensus about it. You need better sources. Have a look at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources for examples of better sources. PhilKnight (talk) 18:39, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- When choosing reliable sources, it may be helpful to review WP:RELIABLE and Wikipedia's list of "perennial" sources--those that the community has discussed and come to a consensus on regarding their reliability. Looking at the sources you provided:
- The Wikipedia community has decided that the New York Post is a generally unreliable source because of "its lack of concern for fact-checking or corrections, including examples of outright fabrication" (see WP:NYPOST).
- Daily Star UK is a deprecated source, meaning it should never be used "due to its reputation for publishing false or fabricated information" (see WP:DAILYSTAR).
- The community questions the reliability of articles published in Newsweek "since 2013" but finds them to be "not generally reliable" due to bad business practices, clickbait articles, and AI-generated content (see WP:NEWSWEEK).
- There is no consensus on the reliability of Ask Men.
- Beyond these concerns, I also want to point out that most of the sources are primary (such as interviews with you), which means they do not establish notability. Further, none of the sources provide significant coverage of the business, which also means they do not establish notability. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 18:41, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
