Hi
Hi. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
I got bored so I thought I'd just say hi. Today's been a rough day for me. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:13, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, today Leah's dog, Jupiter, died. I feel just terrible. She's not having the best of days. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:16, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. I was at her house all day today. Right now, I'm at home, but I'm going back over there for dinner and a sleepover. Poor Jupiter. He was only 3 years old. He died by choking to death. Early this morning, Leah's Mom let Jupiter outside so he could, you know,l do his "business". Supposedly, he went into the woods they have in their backyard and starting knawing on a stick. I guess he then choked on it. How sad........--Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:22, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh my god....I'm even crying right now just thinking about it....Poor Jupiter.... :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(: --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
barnstar
Hi, it's me again. I was just wondering.......have I done anything that could be awarded a Barnstar from you? I mean, am I a nice person. I just haven't been awarded a Barnstar yet, and would like one. I know, I sound pathetic, but you don't have to reply to this if you don't want to.... --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:40, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I award this Barnstar to Erik, for helping me with all of my Wikipedia needs. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) |
Wow, Erik. You're defintely my greatest friend on Wikipedia. Is this your first Barnstar? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 19:56, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I see...I guess mine isn't as big of a deal really then. You can add the one I gave you to that whole page. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:00, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Maybe someday I'll have as many as you....maybe someday..--Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:07, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- You've been on Wikipedia for 2 years, I'd hardly call that a while... But I know what you mean. TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 20:08, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
I actually need some help again Erik. I'm trying to make the font on my userpage, Century Gothic, like it is on my discussion page. I've tried all I know, but everything I do messes up the whole page. Can you pretty please change the font to Century Gothic? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:12, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
SIGN MY AUTOGRAPH BOOK! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:30, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
I crossed out what I said earlier, because I fixed it. It felt so weird when I actually knew what to do. I'm just so used to you, or Bignole helping me. It's great to have my own independence. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 23:33, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Hello! (2)
Hi Erik. Today's the day of the burial of Jupiter. Leah's family plans to bury the dog in their backyard, (where they found him). I'll be attending, and so will my sister. (They live right next door, so we can just walk over.) I felt so close to Jupiter, you know? My family's never had a dog, because my Mom's allergic to them and had a terrible experince with a dog when she was younger, so she's absolutely terrified of dogs. (A dog mauled her and almost ripped off her face when she was 5.) I always would babysit Jupiter when Leah's family went away, and I loved that dog. I'll miss him. :( --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:33, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
If I ever have children, I'll probably get them a dog. I think it's important for kids to have a pet in their life to be like a companion. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 14:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I deleted it since you already got one! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:07, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
A July 4 message
Steve T • C is wishing you a happy Day of Most Heinous Secession from the Kingdom of His Glorious Majesty, George III. While in the course of human events it may become necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another... you'll be more than welcome to return to the fold any time you get tired of this bloody independence lark.
Spread the reunification message by adding {{subst:User:Steve/Broadside}} to their talk page with a friendly message.

- Mine as like any other day really, but I hope yours was enjoyable. I'm up because the dogs were going crazy--the G/F's in town and she brought her dog, who tends to cry all night long while it's in its crate--plus, I generally get up around this time of day so that I can get ready to go to my internship. Luckly, I took today off, so no 11 hour work day for me. What about you? BIGNOLE (Contact me) 12:44, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

my dream
Erik, you'll not believe this! I had a dream last night about Wikipedia, and you were in it! I was there too! And since I don't know what you look like, in my dream you were Tom Cruise! It was pretty freaky! We were in San Fransisco for some reason. I guess I've been on Wikipedia too much lately! Also, I thought I should let you know that on Saturday, I'll be traveling to Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, so I'll be gone for a week. I just thought I'd let you know that! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 14:38, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the tipoff - I have deleted it again, and protected with a note to go to Deletion Review if anyone wishes to discuss recreation. --Stormie (talk) 13:55, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Wonder Woman
After looking over your request, reading through the discussion on the article's talk page, and digging through an archived discussion, I moved the pre-March 27 revisions to Wonder Woman (2009 film) following the discussion's instructions. After successfully moving these revisions, I attempted to restore the 32 edits (from March 27 onwards) to Wonder Woman (film) and in the deletion log it says that I restored them successfully. However, none of these 32 edits appear in Wonder Woman (film)'s history. I'm going to hold off on doing the same thing for the talk page until I can attempt to figure out how to restore the 32 revisions. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:05, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, that's weird, there must have been some sort of delay. I was freaking out for a moment there, and searching frantically to find out how to restore those remaining revisions. Now that I am 95% sure I know how to successfully do this, I'll get some more practice on doing the talk page now. Thanks for contacting me, I was about to ask for help in fixing a mistake that didn't exist. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:14, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- Did you want me to do the same as a I did before or just move Talk:Wonder Woman (film)/Archive 1 to Talk:Wonder Woman (2009 film)/Archive 1? --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:17, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
- This isn't that big a deal, but I was just initially worried after the revisions didn't appear immediately. Okay, I moved the pre-June 23 comments to the talk page of the 2009 article. I'm pretty sure I did what you asked for, but please let me know if there is anything else I need to do/fix. By the way, could you stop by and weight in on the recent discussions at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films/Coordinators? It's just bouncing back and forth between Girolamo and me. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 21:35, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

Starting a new film article
Heya. Looking to start the article on the 2008 film Brothel but, never having created a film article before (or any article for that matter), I am unsure how to proceed. I am guessing the article would be stub for a while, seeing as I cannot seem to find critical commentary for it yet. The only source I have found is at Imdb, and of course, that is of limited use to us here. Complicating matters is that 'Brothel' currently redirects to the definition article. Re: Publisher
This is where my apparent laziness came in. I read those names from the Wikipedia entries for the publications, without double checking, assuming the named publisher was the correct one to use. So I should use the owning company instead? That makes more sense. Steve T • C 19:32, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- So, for something like MTV.com, I'd go for Viacom, rather than MTV Networks (which I've been using so far)? There's definitely some ambiguity here. Checking one from the SoP article, we have the Long Beach Press-Telegram. The publisher is explicitly stated to be Los Angeles Newspaper Group, but the overall owner is MediaNews Group. Steve T • C 19:54, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- You are Daniel Baldwin and I claim my five pounds. Steve T • C 20:01, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- So did I. I meant Alec Baldwin ("...the billion-dollar corporations...") - Steve T • C 20:13, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
In terms of seeing the film, or improving the article? Yes on the former, though I've got a Hulk-sized backlog of films to get through before then, so it might have to wait until DVD. On the latter, it's something I've got watchlisted, but only half-heartedly so far (I don't check every edit). Do you want me to see if I can shape up the "Reception" section before the weekend? It shouldn't be a problem. Steve T • C 14:02, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that list does look kind of overwhelming. But I think it's possible to turn it into a reasonable (if short) article before the weekend without having to plough through all those. Once we've got this amendment to MOSFILM out of the way, I'll have a crack at the "Reception" section and maybe a couple of other bits and bobs I can identify as requiring attention. Steve T • C 14:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- "I've been expanding Hellboy II using headlines" - yeah, I noticed :), working through that list is going to be a long, thankless task; good luck. I'm going to make a start on the reception section this evening (I'll probably be a bit stop-start on it as I'm doing real-world stuff too), and if I get time after that I'll try to implement a couple of those headlines myself. Steve T • C 19:38, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Usually I wouldn't, but the RT page is a little light on reviewers I'd be happy to cite, and I found the review (by Drew McWeeny) to be of a depth and insight that writers for publications with a set word count would be unable to match. McWeeny is the only one on that site I'd ever consider quoting in a critical reception section, but if you think he wouldn't fit, I'll chop him out. Steve T • C 22:07, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Although they swear too much, I generally respect Knowles, McWeeny and Eric Vespe ("Quint") and think they do go into more depth than a lot of reviewers who are just there to inform the masses. For fantasy films it is important to note fan reaction, although it is preferred to use third-party sources to cover this in addition to some notable fan reviews. Knowles is a very infamous reviewer but I'd be ready to quote him over countless other blog sites like CHUD, Cinematical, /Film etc. Ultimately it all depends if you can't find another interesting similar opinion. Alientraveller (talk) 08:31, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

- See, I actually lean the other way. I think Harry Knowles is a bit of a hack who'd give a good review to Manos: The Hands of Fate if he thought it'd get him in with the filmmakers. McWeeny, and maybe Vespe, are the only ones at the site I'd even consider quoting the opinions of. Steve T • C 09:22, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
(outdent) I see your point; I hadn't considered any potential future FA submission. I reckon Moriarty would get through, but it wouldn't be without an extended argument/discussion as to his suitability. When there could be some other factor that needs the nominator's attention, that would be an unnecessary diversion. Steve T • C 12:42, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
How do you choose to divide up the cites by numbers? It is it by day or something? Alientraveller (talk) 17:21, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Mistake
My sincere apologies. I made a mistaken edit trying to revert vandalism and screwed up the article bigtime. I was trying to merely revert the edit by 12.109.157.2, and didn't realize that the error no longer existed in the current page. Thank you for your vigilance, and keep up the good work. Re: The Dark Knight
I've been trying to get a word in edgeways for the last 40 minutes. Every time I've written a couple of hundred words or so, I get an EC and find you've said what I intended to. I'm just going to leave it for a while, then try to explain in flippin' baby language the position of (I hope) WP:FILM to these links. I think we all compromise a little when we encounter a surly editor who is doing otherwise excellent work - we turn a blind eye to the odd snide comment - but with this guy I feel like when I make a correction he's passing his eye over it like a ruddy teacher ("I find most of those changes acceptable" - yeah, thanks). I can't even argue with him because he fills the talk page comments with so much unnecessary detail I lose the will to wade through it (I mean, come on, it's not necessary to spend ten minutes explaining each edit, then spend a further chastising the rest of us for not following your "prevailing citation format" that'll be thrown out as soon as it gets to FAC anyway). It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't seem to misunderstand everything that we're trying to tell him, and fill his replies with completely irrelevant comments about things you didn't even bring up. Still, you do well to take a breather from the article. It's not worth getting stressed about. Steve T • C 19:09, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Apologies to SkyWalker for stealing this heading, but Erik, I do recall you once said to Bignole that it'd be neat to have a huge collaboration on an older, non-superhero film. Well, it's kinda recent and a superhero film not based on a comic: actually, it's ten years old next year. And Keanu Reeves happens to be playing another messiah figure this December. Can you guess what pill I'm offering? Alientraveller (talk) 22:02, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- I guess it's different. I don't use cite journal anyway. Alientraveller (talk) 14:35, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Warning
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.. Please stop making personal attacks against me in Talk:Heath Ledger [My typographical error: I meant to type Talk:The Dark Knight (film), in editing summaries of Heath Ledger, [My typographical error: I meant to type The Dark Knight (film) and in other people's talk pages. It violates WP:Etiquette and WP:NPA. Please focus on making constructive edits, not on contributors. Thank you. --NYScholar (talk) 23:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Hahahahahaha. Admins, disregard this so-called warning entirely. I checked the edit histories of the [article] and [article talk], and the article talk itself, and found NO contribs by Erik in the last few days to either page. This is being planted by NYScholar in a preemptive strike, to preclude Erik from complaining about NYScholar's behavior over at The Dark Knight, a film in which Heath ledger acts. the subtle (not really) connection and intimidation attempt would be obvious to Erik. NO AGF here, its' a tactic. ThuranX (talk) 23:27, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have just posted a similar warning on the talk page of ThuranX, who is violating WP:NPA here, on Talk:The Dark Knight, and on other people's talk pages, such as this one. Please desist. This is very immature behavior and violates Wikipedia:Etiquette and can lead to blocking. Thank you. --NYScholar (talk) 23:30, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
My response, considering the false nature of this so-called warning. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 01:07, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- (ec)[In response to the comment left on my talk page:] That was a typographical error; I meant to type Talk:The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight and. (I couldn't remember where I had made the error, but I had a sense that I had mistyped the talk and article page links; so thanks for pointing it out; strikeouts and correction in brackets above, for the record.) No, I did not know there was a policy about not posting template warnings on longtime editors' talk pages; people have done so on mine in the past, after I have been editing here for over 2 years. Where is such a policy stated? Please reply here, and I'll check later, when I'm back online.) On my own talk page, I will be archiving exchanges about this matter; I do not want to devote any more of my time to what I am now regarding as a violation of Wikipedia:Harrassment. Thank you. I'll archive this exchange as soon as I can after you have seen it. Then I will be offline and cannot deal with these articles or this matter any further. I just have not got time for it. It is also too distressing and I would rather spend my time otherwise. Thank you. --NYScholar (talk) 01:20, 11 July 2008 (UTC) [I corrected my typographical errors above; somehow they seemed to have disappeared; I restored my corrections; they were inadvertent typographical errors. I updated this reply after checking my own talkpage, which will be being archived, since I will be offline. --NYScholar (talk) 01:28, 11 July 2008 (UTC)]
- No problem. It's not jsut false, it's a frame-up, i whole-heartedly believe. No other editor at that article has as set of talk and article contribs which match his accusations of false and attacking summaries agaisnt NYS. He/She/it/them/shirm seeks to discredit all opposition. I expect some other tactic to be used against me soon. probablhy an incivility warning/block, it's not unheard of. NYS will than assume that Steve can read the writing on the wall. Waste of our collective time. Wondering if I could get your eyes on this - long story short is a question of whether or not a split was appropriate. I argued that it wasn't; the split away from the article was done anyway; a month passed with no substantial edits and a nearly-complete redundancy between parent and child articles; I decided to merge them back. Now I have an editor accusing me of "not acting like a Wikipedian" and abusing coordinator status (despite the fact that I very actively and consciously do not ever invoke it outside of project affairs). Actually, I'm 16, so you kind of got the age group right. And I dunno if I'm interested in actaully writing articles in film, but maybe in tv shows. My dream is to become a televison screen writer, so maybe you could dig up some articles in tv that need some cleaning up. P.S: Are you a Twilight fan? hi [2]
Hi Erik. Just wanted to say I'll be gone later in the day doing various things. Myself and 3 other friends of mine are running a babysitting class today and Thursday that goes from 1pm-4pm EST. Then I'm taking my 2 younger sisters to the movies to see that, "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl" movie. I heard it got great reviews. But I'll be here most of the morning. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 12:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Just a quick reminder Erik, can you make a new section on my talk page everytime when start a new conversation? That would help. Thanks! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 12:55, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that. I want people to do that from now on, so eventually I can make some archives, but my talk page isn't big enough yet. Also, I was wondering if you could add a little message to where you signed on my guestbook, instead of just leaving your name. Thanks again. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for calling me that! It really sweet! But I'm still surprised as to why no one else has signed my guestbook. Only 3 people have excluding me! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:12, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
OMG! Somthing happened to my usepage. I was just doing some tweaking and everything got all messed up. What a load of crap! My userpage was finally perfect and it's messed up! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:14, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry! False alarm! I fixed it! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:16, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
If I move up the guestbook, my userboxes will be at the bottom. I think I'll keep the format, but just ask more people to sign it. Unless there's a way you could fix my userpage. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 13:20, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Re: Hancock
No, unfortunately. It's yet another that'll have to wait for DVD. Long story short, having a baby means we get to go to the cinema maybe once per month (down from once per week, pre-child), so we have to ration our visits carefully. This month is set aside for TDK and nothing else. I'm pretty much spoiled on Hancock, but that's actually served to inflate my interest a little. How was it? Steve T • C 15:33, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

- I liked it a lot, as I expected to, having enjoyed similar tension-filled, door-slammy ghost stories like The Devil's Backbone and The Others. It's to its credit that I'm only now realising how derivative a lot of it was (though its success was partly due to a story that didn't quite take the path I expected. An even larger part was Belén Rueda). Steve T • C 22:04, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

I apologize for having not had the time yet to look over the matter in depth - I hope to be able to join the discussion later this week, however. I am glad that it is being brought up, though! Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 03:12, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi Erik. Sorry I've not been able to offer you any input on your rework of WP:MOSFILM#Images so far, especially after all excellent suggestions you had when #Reception was up for a rewrite. It's not through lack of interest, but the truth is, I've seldom dived into the whole images and fair-use minefield in my year here, so I haven't had any thoughts worth passing on save "yup, that looks good so far", which isn't exactly constructive. Still, I thought I'd just drop you this message to let you know that I've been monitoring your drafts and, yup, that looks good so far. :) I'll have another look at it later on, see if I can actually come up with something helpful. All the best, Steve T • C 18:54, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Either way
You might as well read the plot. It isn't really going to spoil the film for you. I already knew the plot a few weeks ago and still found the film captivating. However, do as you will. If you sneak a peek, it isn't going to be like Usual Suspects or Sixth Sense in that the experience will be ruined. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 21:02, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
Watchmen
You've just removed the Watchmen edit because you say it isn't the official trailer. Unfortunately it is, Brightcove is a PR agency in the UK who are actually hosting the trailer for Empire magazine (and they have done this loads of times for them in the past). They were supposed to be releasing it at 5.00am but the PR agency linked it up early! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.168.174.55 (talk) 21:44, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Dark Knight
I have to say, it was pretty awesome. Ledger was phenominal as the Joker. Two-Face was pretty intense himself, and I wish we had had more of him. I understand the criticism about the film seeming like a constant climax. Most of the scenes were short and quick, and even the long scenes were spliced with shots of events happening across town. It was really like watching a 2.5 hour long trailer, the way that the scenes were shot. The scenes were just long enough to give you a good taste, but never quite entiraly filling. I don't know what they are going to do for a third film, because it certainly does not end on an open note. No one would be able to do what Ledger did, so the Joker is definitely out of the question if there is a next one. Hope you get to see it soon. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 07:39, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I saw it, loved it. I forgot to ask how did it go with the uncaptioned screening? Alientraveller (talk) 17:21, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't like Ratatouille as much as I should have, I love all the studio's movies but I don't have it (and A Bug's Life and Cars) on DVD. I'll definitely be getting this though: it wasn't just a great family film it was a true sci-fi classic. I think I'll really try to get this to FA of this summer's cream of the crop, moreso than Hulk and Indy (I think TDK really relies on everybody making valuable contributions, but I'm off the article until next week). - The article is in decent shape, it's just I really want to expand the production and marketing info. I know there are some editors interested in getting it to FA. Gotta sort out the in-universe article that have sprung up too, like Buy n Large, there's no going to be a sequel afterall. What Pixar film would you like to see a sequel to? Two-Face in The Dark Knight
Oh, it's not a problem, I see where you're coming from. I personally think Aaron Eckhart did a better job as Two-Face than Tommy Lee Jones--not to discount Jones's efforts in Batman Forever, but all he had on was purple makeup as opposed to the realistic, graphic showing of third-degree burns. Jgera5 (talk) 20:17, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
I'd like to see maybe The Riddler and/or Catwoman. Possibly Two-Face coming back and having his role expanded, since it is ambiguous if he died or not and his character didn't get burned til about 2/3rd into the movie. I'd like to see the Joker come back as well but it would be hard to find someone to replace Heath Ledger, as Ledger did the unthinkable and topped Jack Nicholson. The only thing about the Riddler I worry about is if they go with the same terrorist plot with the Joker. While I did like the plot itself, I wouldn't want to see it rehashed with another villain. I think at this point as long as it stays realistic and there is no Robin people will be happy. Jgera5 (talk) 20:25, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

The Dark Knight
The fact that the votes are stacked is irrelevant because NO OTHER film in the history of the website has been able to unseat the Godfather, not even Return of the King and/or Star Wars 3. The fact that there was enough votes to unseat The Godfather is a feat in and of it self. There was tons of vote stacking for other movies. If anything a compromise would have been to highlight this, as it is quite a feat, not delete the information and brush it off as insignificant as it obviously is a big deal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seanmilloy (talk • contribs) 20:45, July 20, 2008
TDK
Wow, you really did enjoy it. I wouldn't mind Catwoman, because it seems that Nolan can take any of the characters from the previous films and make them better than they were. I think Jim Carrey did the Riddler too well to be replaced by anyone else though. That was the only highlight of Batman Forever. I can't wait to see the film in IMAX when it comes here, it's going to be great. Glad you got to see it and that you enjoyed it so much. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 03:18, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Taglines
I have reverted your removal of taglines from the articles I watch. The MoS is a Manual of Style, and cannot control content. Since the taglines were not presented as a seperate item, or in any way differently from any other piece of information, that makes them content the inclusion of exclusion of which is not something that a manual of style can determine. In point of fact, the tagline provides interesting information about the way in which a film is marketed at the time of its initial release, and is for this reason a valid addition to the article. I agree that taglines aren't so important that they should be flagged or put into a seperate section, but their inclusion in the body of an article, as I did, is perfectly legitimate, and should not be removed. Re: The Dark Knight
Well they're probably not as appropriate in an urban setting I suppose. Gary King (talk) 20:14, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- No idea; has there been talks for a sequel yet? From what I know about Nolan, he will only do another one if he feels that he can do an excellent job with it. No doubt there is already work on a script, though. The Joker and Two-Face are in my opinion, by far the most well-known Batman villains, so I'm curious to know who's next. Gary King (talk) 20:21, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- That's some interesting thinking. Nolan does great work and he will only direct again if he knows he can make another great movie; I don't think he's in it as much for the money. However, the studio will definitely do what they can to please Nolan. I've seen talks of Catwoman, but I don't want the film turning into action/romance! I'm actually interested in a story with Mr. Freeze; I can't get Arnold out of my head, though, for the worse. Gary King (talk) 20:33, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- I wouldn't be surprised if the series was over for a few years. There isn't much else to "top". The only successful trilogy that I can remember in recent years is the Lord of the Rings, which is one story spanning three films. Spider-Man 3 was awful. X-Men 3 was awful. In most of these cases, the first film sets up the characters, motives, etc., the second film is the best of the series, and the third one is a flop. It's disappointing. Batman Begins took place primarily in the Narrows and the areas where Batman trained in Bhutan, so that was most of the world that we knew; TDK blows the lid wide open and shows us most of the city, so there isn't much more for us to see. I'm already extremely satisfied with TDK and would only want a third film if it can be as good as at least Batman Begins, perhaps even a denouement to the series that shows how Batman finally "retires". Gary King (talk) 20:45, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, talking about sequels, another one would be Godfather, which was really good, Godfather II, which was excellent, and then Godfather III, which goes without saying :) Also, regarding future superhero films like the Avengers and the Watchmen, I don't like big ensemble casts. The ones that focus on one character are more interesting to me, so therefore I like Batman and Spider-Man more than the X-Men, for example. There's more character development, it makes us more invested in the characters, etc. The big superhero groups are good, too, but to a certain extent. I think the ones that have more character and less explosions will have far more longevity. Gary King (talk) 20:51, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think the hard part is in creating an ending to a series that is satisfying and worthy enough for three films. Usually, the second films are the ones where we finally see the limits to the characters' abilities. At the end, we see them do something magnificent, and once the film is over, we always remember them as doing that last magnificent thing. The third films usually ruin that because they then create a fixed denouement to the series rather than letting our imaginations tell us what happens after the second film is over. Gary King (talk) 20:58, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the primary thing is that I wasn't aware Bale signed on for a third while Nolan didn't. That's kind of strange; I thought that Bale would have only wanted to work with Nolan. I'm sure the actors loved working with Nolan; he's quite the visionary. I have no problem with studios wanting to make money, because that's the first reason that they exist – to make films that make money. The Dark Knight and many other films prove that a good film can make tons of money, though, so if some studios are smart, they will let a few more years pass for a good script to come up before beginning filming. One thing I loved was that Nolan opted to use as little CGI as possible; this was one of the first films that I can recall where the audience – who are all just general audience and who have mostly never read a comic book – reacted so well to the film on screen. People were shrieking in horror when the Joker put a knife to someone's mouth, laughed when he was clapping to congratulate Gordon on his promotion while in his cell, and were in awe when Batman trapped the truck and flipped it upside down. Those were epic moments; it's only the scenes that are amazing, but the context they are put in. Gary King (talk) 21:10, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
Later
Too... many... memorable moments... for one... brain... to... keep track of. Must... stop... speaking... slowly... Really, it was tremendous. The.. the.. No, I can't cite specific scenes as standouts without feeling as if I'm hurting the feelings of those I haven't mentioned. And everyone brought their A-game to this one. Eckhart has never been better. Ledger was perfect. The IMDb rating isn't starting to look quite so far-fetched now (and I speak not as a fanboy; I haven't read a comic in my life). I'll probably be a little more restrained in the morning, and the flaws will be thrown into sharper focus, but right now I just want to watch it again. Steve T • C 23:54, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
I just wanted to chip in. It was a great film. I didn't like it as much as Batman Begins, but it was a much darker and more nailbitingly intense film, I could barely edit after seeing it. I loved the Joker, Two-Face was so cool too (unfortunately I was distracted by Eckhart's great performance thanks to the CG eyeball and snarl, easily the part of the film I'm most looking to learn about once I get the DVD) and there were a lot of moving scenes. And Gordon is awesome, he's topped Alfred in my imaginary top ten Batman sidekicks list. Didn't care for whole Hong Kong / money subplot though, neither did Joker of course. Alientraveller (talk) 18:24, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- What, you shocked I slightly preferred the original? Alientraveller (talk) 19:34, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- The only reason Two-Face should come back is if they introduce Robin, but Nolan and Bale aren't interested (it'd be a good starting point for the next phase of the series in a decade or so). At this point I don't know what Nolan could so: twice Batman learnt not to be a killer, and I don't want him to get burned like Raimi/Singer/Lucas et al. under the hawkish eyes of cynical for the sake of cynical "fans" screaming bloody murder all the time (aw screw it, it's more complex: optimism is a rarity anywhere).
- I'm was happy with Two-Face, the movie lived or died depending on him, I know this'll sound degatory to all those who've brought him to life over the years, but Joker is an easy character to write. It's hard to mess him up. So I was just so happy to see Two-Face handled so well: him and Ra's (my favourite villain in the franchise) were such unique takes on the comics, while Scarecrow and Joker were almost encores for Nolan's skill.
- In any case, the fans clearly want Riddler and a female villain (Catwoman or Talia, hmmm), judging from you, an Empire Online poll and an IGN article. Alientraveller (talk) 20:45, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm really interested in Bane (who once allied with the Al Ghuls). Perhaps Nolan will buck the scope trend and make a really grim, $40 million R / 15-rated film with Bane and Talia. Maybe after seeing Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk I've developed a taste for enemies who dwarf their enemies physically as well as mentally. Too early? Yeah, maybe as I'm fond of the part of the story where Nightwing temporarily becomes Batman. By the way, Two-Face is involved in Robin's origin in stories like Dark Victory and Robin: Year One. Let's see Nolan sort out the GCPD's hunt for the "killer" Batman first. Alientraveller (talk) 21:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think it would be really cool to see Bane, personally. I think a two-part film involving the storyline where Bane breaks Batman's back. For the past two films, we've been witness to how physically injured Batman gets each night, but how mentally tough he stays. I think something as grim as the possibility of not walking again could mentally break him down and would be very interesting to watch (as Nolan has shown he a master at developing the psychology of his characters). Hola :) :)

Nothing much has happened to me the past week. I've been looking for new signature ideas, but haven't found the right thing. Besides that nothing much really. I've been writing a new story though. (writing is a hobby of mine.) I thought I should show you what I've written so far. Please give me your honest critiscm! Don't be afraid to be brutal! I need all the help I can get! The story so far is below the line.
I happened on Saturday, December 8th of last year. I’ll never forget it, for two reasons. One, it was the day that ruined my life. And two, it was all my fault.
It was just about lunchtime, and my Mom was cooking me some mac n’ cheese, which is about the only thing she did cook for me since she had terrible culinary skills. I was parked in front of our bay window in our living room, watching the snow fall as I sat on the window seat, petting my pet dog, Jupiter.
Just as Jupiter was starting to drift off into a weary sleep, there was a loud crackling sound coming from the kitchen. I stuck my nose in the air, smelling a smokey aroma that I knew had to be coming from the kitchen. Just as Mom said a sware word, the smoke alarm went off.
“Mom?” I shouted. “Do you need me to get the fire extinguisher?” Usually when Mom cooked, she burnt everything. So it was routine for me to have to jump up and get the fire extinguisher. Then Mom would put out the fire, and we’d end up ordering Taiwanese food or hoagies for lunch, and Dad would have the leftovers for dinner when he got home from work. But this was different. So I just continued on staring at the sparkling snow, figuring everything was fine. But my heart was still worried.
“Mom? Are you sure everything’s okay?” I asked again. But there was no answer; only the sizzling sound of the mac n’ cheese was coming from the kitchen. Curiously, I got up and went into the kitchen to see why Mom didn’t need any help. Probably just a false alarm, I thought. But I was soon to be proven wrong.
When I walked into the kitchen, I was in utter horror. My eyes could not believe what I was seeing. It was so unreal.
There was Mom, lying on the floor. Her face blue, her eyes open, and her mouth was open too. Wide open. As if she was screaming. One of her hands was across her neck, almost holding on, but with a loose grip. Her other arm was laying on the kitchen floor tiles, as were her legs. But in her other hand, was the mixing spoon that Mom was using for the mac n’ cheese. It was covered in burnt liquid cheese, that was crusted onto the spoon.
“Mom?” I asked nervously. “M-m-m-om?” Tears started rolling down my cheeks. I knelt down to check her pulse. Nothing. Not even the faintest beat of life. “Mom, say something!” I screamed sadly, shaking her. “Please! Wake up! Wake up M-mom!”
I jumped up, grabbed the phone, tried to decide who to call for help first: Dad, or 911? I figured that the police should be notified first, so they can bring an ambulance over.
I pressed the three numbers I had hoped I’d never had to call. And when the dispatcher answered, I panicked.
“911 hotline, what is your emergency?” They asked. “Help! I need h-h-help! My Mom, and she’s, the mac n’ cheese! I dunno why she’s blue! I a-a-asked if she n-needed a fire extinguisher and-” “Ok, ok miss. Please calm down and explain what happened.” “I can’t! I don’t know what happened!” “Well tell me your name and address.” “My n-n-name is Delilah Schwartz, and I live on Primrose Boulevard! My Mom is blue! I need help! Please! This is scary!! Help!” And then I hung up.
I quickly glanced back at Mom. Now Jupiter was licking the spoon in her hand. At this point I didn’t care what that dog was doing.
Quickly, I dialed Dad’s work number. I would’ve called his cell phone, but he doesn’t have one ever since Jupiter chewed it up. Hopefully he would be there, unless he was busy. And as I waited, I started panting from fear.
“Hello, Schwartz and Co. Carpeting Services, this is Pam.” The secretary said. “Hi this is Mr. Schwartz’s daughter, I need to talk to him now! It’s an emergency!” I rapidly yelled. “Delilah? Is everything alright?” “No! Just put me through!” “Alright then!” Then Pam hung up, and Dad’s phone started to ring. I was completely annoyed with Pam, for wasting so much time with asking me questions. Didn’t she realize I was in need of my own Dad’s help?
“Hello, Brian Schwartz speaking.” Dad said. “Dad, you need to come here right now! Mom isn’t breathing, and she’s blue! Help me!” “Delilah? I’m sorry, I can’t understand you! Slow down! What’s wrong with Mom?” “I don’t know! Just come home! NOW!” And then I hung up.
Since I couldn’t just sit there and wait for help to come, I had to take matters into my own hands. Using my CPR skills from a babysitting class I took the previous year, I starting using that maneuver on my Mom. But nothing worked.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of sirens. It was the ambulance, finally. So I rushed out the front door, to show the police what happened.
“Help!” I cried. “My Mom isn’t breathing! You have to do something!” But all the police officers and medical workers just ran right past me, barging into our house. “Hey!” I called. “Wait!” I tried running to catch up to all of them, but someone stopped me.
A big police officer, which I assumed was the chief, grabbed me from behind, and turned me around so I could walk with him. “Miss, you’re coming with me.” He said. “No! B-b-but my Mom!” “Don’t worry little one, she’s gonna be alright.” Then the man put me in the police cruiser, and started driving away. The last thing I saw when we pulled down the street, was a body being a wheeled into the ambulance on one of those beds. The body was covered in plastic material, so I couldn’t see much of anything. But I knew, that it was Mom.
The next thing I knew, I was sitting in the hospital waiting room with my Dad. He was just sitting there, staring off into space, without any emotion at all. I tried to get my mind off of things by reading the magazines they had, “Good Housekeeping”, “Marie Claire”, “GQ” and “Woman’s World”. But I couldn’t help but think about what was happening in that emergency room. Would the police chief be right, and everything would be okay?
After what seemed like weeks of silent waiting, the emergency room doctor, Dr. Carmichael, came into the room, and quietly said to my Dad, “Can I see you for a moment?” Dad then solemnly nodded and the two went into a room at the end of the long hospital hallway. I just figured Dr. Carmichael would be telling him the good news.''
Here's the continuation of the story. I finished the begining part and have now moved onto the first chapter. --♥Soccer5525♥talk to me! 23:52, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
As I patiently waited, I heard something surprising on T.V. It was the local news station, Channel 9’s midday news. The anchorwoman, Sigourney Brown, was reporting the story.
“At around noontime, an emergency occurred on Primrose Boulevard involving a woman, named Lucille “Lucy” Schwartz, who seemed to have choked to death in her own home, while cooking her daughter, who’s name is Delilah Schwartz, a lunchtime meal. Local polices officers and medical workers fled to the scene, after receiving a 911 emergency call from Delilah herself. Her father, which police have identified to be Brian Schwartz, of Schwartz and Co. Carpeting Services, was not home when the situation took place. Currently, Mr. Schwartz and his daughter are waiting at Stoneybrook Hospital for the ER doctors to tell them the news for neither know the outcome of what happened. We’ll have more on this story, including interviews with police officers and detectives, and the answer to what really killed Mrs. Lucy Schwartz. We’ll be right back after these messages.”
Chapter One
“Delilah! Mia’s on the phone for you!”
“Ok! I’ll be there in second! Tell her I’m on the loo!”
“Will do!”
“Thanks!”
It always seemed that my Mia, my best friend, would call me at the worst possible times. One day I was sleeping, the next I’m brushing my teeth, another time I got bubble gum stuck in my hair, and now I’m sitting on the toilet. I sware that someday I’ll be skydiving, and she’ll call me asking how to use chopsticks.

Hello, I noticed that you changed "Dutch" back to "Flemish" in the article for Mr. Nobody, because that's the Variety citation. Note that Variety is mistaken. Hi! I've bene using Defaultsort but on occasion it totally slips my mind to do it. I get caught up in other things I guess! Thanks for the kind words! I'll get back to do doing it when I can. Andrzejbanas (talk) 02:12, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Images (2)
When I see a DVD cover in the middle of a page, I remove it. Plot images will be fun. I would go around to different film pages and post a notice of the changes to MOSFILMS, to let them know ahead of time. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 11:52, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree. It'd be better to do it on an "as and when we come across one" basis, instead of consolidating opinion against the amendment by doing it all at once. Steve T • C 11:59, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- How about something in between? I was thinking that we could ask Nehrams2020 to mention the active image discussion at WT:MOSFILM in the July 2008 newsletter to get other editors involved, maybe also mention the revisions for "Critical reception" and "Home media" for others to review. Then we can just slowly address Good Articles and Featured Articles throughout August, then encourage editors in the August 2008 newsletter to improve the fair use rationale for images they find out or remove them if they really do not fit. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 12:03, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- That could work. Slowly, but surely begin reviewing all the GAs and FAs. I hope you (we) have a lot of time on our hands, because I predict a fight. :D BIGNOLE (Contact me) 12:06, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Nooo, no fight. :( I think we need to offer all the possible options. We can weigh in with the possibility of finding commentary for an image (if it seems unique enough at first glance), replacing insignificant images with significant ones, or removing them outright, leaving their sources as needed on the talk page. Like Steve said, it'd be a case-by-case basis. I think that for run-of-the-mill drama films, the likelihood is low, but for more fantastical films (superhero, sci-fi, war), there's probably stuff to say about an element of these large productions. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 12:11, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- So, shall we go ahead and remove the images from Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2? lol. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 12:29, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Not outright! :) Looking at them (it's been a while), we can provide solely a Green Goblin image for under "Design", and for the sequel, we can do the same for Doc Ock (as well as pair the comic strip with the actual film image... somehow). It's alternatives like these that we need to pursue. :) —Erik (talk • contrib) - 12:34, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm aware of the alternatives, but looking at the images themselves, there are far better ones for illustrating the look of the GG and DO. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 12:37, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I agree. I don't mean to suggest using the same images, but to replace them with more adequate visual representations of the critical commentary. If we come across fairly fleshed-out articles with images not being used to its fullest potential (either with location or particular angle), we can make the recommendation for improvement. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 12:40, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- Personally, I don't care to use 2 infoboxes in an article (as I've seen a lot of the Transformer characters do). They just seem too in your face to see them twice...plus, having an infobox opens the door to people filling that "image" section of the box. As for the image itself, if it doesn't have its own page then it doesn't need an image on the parent article. Not unless there is critical commentary on said album cover. Critical reception
Did we decide somewhere on the talk page that the Critical Reception section should be by itself? It's technically part of the "Release". I don't remember when it got split or if there was an actualy discussion about it. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 16:54, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
- I mean, I'm cool with it the way it is I just didn't remember seeing it get separated or a discussion about it. The last thing I remember was someone suggesting that we separate the reviews to their own page. If you think it works better this way, that's good enough for me. my story
Hi Erik. Thanks for all your comments! They really helped! Sometimes, I get so in the zone when I have this great idea for a story, that I make these little mistakes. Thanks for pointing them out. Here's my answers to each of your questions in their number order:
1. That was just a little typo
2. Forgot about the house number
3. The reason Delilah overreacts about Pam is because she's so scared about the situation, that she doesn't want to waste anytime with people asking her questions. But you made a good point, so I changed that sentence to, "“Delilah? Is everything alright? What‘s going on? Are you okay?”
4. The police officer didn't want the Delilah to stay, because he just got notice via walkie talkie from the ER people that her mother was dead, and they didn't want her to stay to see that.
5. She's in plastice material because it's snowing outside and it's freezing cold. I can understand why you'd think she's in a body bag so I changed that sentence to, "The body was covered in plastic material, so I couldn’t see much of anything. It was snowing like crazy then, so the ER crew didn’t want Mom’s temperture to drop from the cold weather and snow. That’s what the chief told me. But I knew, that it was Mom."
The readers already can assume that Delilah's mother is dead, which makes the story so much sadder when you realize that Delilah didn't know what was going on.
I'll give you the continuation once I write it. Thanks again, Erik! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 16:07, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Hi Erik. Um, you remember my best friend Leah right? The girl who's dog died earlier this month? Well I showed her my Wikipedia user page and talk page and she said the stupidiest thing. She said I have a, "Wikicrush" on you. And I said, "what the heck Leah! I don't even know Erik!" And she said, "Well the way you always talk to him and stuff makes you look like you like him!" And I said, "Leah, just shut up! I have a boyfriend you know! Erik's just a friend!" Then Leah said, "Yeah right. You're like obsessed with him. All you do is say, "Oh Erik, you're such a great friend!" Then I said, "Well that because he is a good friend! And a better friend than you!" Then Leah's mouth hung open and she stormed away.
Who's side are you on? --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 16:33, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Oh well. Let's just forget about it. I promise I'll apologize though. But you have to admit, what she said was really stupid. I mean I'm 16, and you're like 20, and we don't even know each other! And the reason I said you're a btter friend than her, is because Leah's been turning into one of those awful mean girls you only see on T.V. It's scary to think that she was once my best friend! You have no idea! --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 18:46, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
Newsletter
Of course, there should be no problems mentioning those. I'll try to finish the newsletter a few days before the end of the month so you can look over the MOSFILM mentions to see if it needs to be reworded further. By the way, I went to Comic-Con yesterday and got to go to the panels for Wolfman and The Spirit, and they showed some amazing clips for both. I also got to see a screening for Tropic Thunder last night, and it is one of the funniest films I've seen in theaters for a while. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 18:50, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I went to two free screenings today downtown for Death Race and Hamlet 2 (which had a panel afterwards of Steve Coogan, Andy Fleming, and Pam Brady). I only got to go to Comic-Con for one day due to scheduling conflicts and some days being sold out. It was around $30 for a one day's pass, and unfortunately, they don't post the schedule for what will be occurring over each of the four days until two weeks before the convention (by then all of the tickets are sold out). Fortunately, I bought a ticket for Friday and got to see The Spirit panel which was my main interest of the convention (so as to see Samuel L. Jackson, which I'm sure you by now realize I enjoy a little bit). Throughout the convention I also got to see Seth Green, Benecio del Toro, Rick Baker, Emily Blunt, Lou Ferrigno, Keifer Sutherland, Frank Miller, Jaime King, & Gabriel Macht. For Wolfman, the panel's speakers were not doing a very good job promoting the movie, but the trailer for the film was entertaining. I wasn't too excited for it since I was only in the room to make sure I got to see the following Spirit panel (and also since I haven't had a chance to see the original yet). The clips for The Spirit were really amazing and had some really great effects. I took a bunch of pictures throughout the convention which I'll try to upload in the coming days, including ones for Transformers 2, Quantum of Solace, and the individual actors' pages.
- For the Tropic Thunder screening, I got my ticket (and tickets for a bunch of other films) from filmmetro.com. It had a video intro before the film with Stiller, Black, and Downey Jr. greeting Comic-Con fans, so it must have had a tie-in. I've been waiting for this film ever since I learned about it, and I'll definitely want to bring it up to GA status at some point. The faux trailers before the film were great, and I'm so glad that I didn't have to wait another two weeks to see it. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 07:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- I haven't seen the original Death Race 2000 film, but this one was an entertaining theater movie. The plot was pretty predictable (it seems very similar to one of my favorites, Running Man) but the races were very violent and entertaining. It was kind of like watching the Speed Racer film which had a horrible plot but amazing car races. Hamlet 2 had some funny parts, especially on behalf of Steve Coogan, but altogether I didn't care for it too much (it's hard to watch a comedy film and enjoy it after just seeing Tropic Thunder!). However, the panel afterwards was very funny as Steve Coogan was playfully arguing with the director and writer that he didn't get credit for many of the lines that he ad-libbed in the film. I think Hamlet 2 will perform better at the box office, as it appears Jason Statham hasn't been doing to well lately with his opening releases. Of course this will be Steve Coogan's first major role in the U.S., so it will be interesting to see if he can open the film. I'll likely start helping out with The Spirit after I have finished the Tropic Thunder article. I get Google Alerts for the majority of the topics I have written GAs for to keep them up to date, but only get them weekly. Are you getting daily or weekly (or other) updates from your Google Alerts? --Nehrams2020 (talk) 20:07, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- I have "Tropic Thunder" and "Ben Stiller" as well. That's a good idea to set up an alternate account, I already get too much mail as it is. I've noticed that if you do do the weekly update, it doesn't include the information for the whole week. I have before searched for Tropic Thunder for example in the regular Google News and discovered stories in past weeks that never appeared in the updates. I guess there may be some sort of a limit to the number of stories it includes in the weekly updates. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 20:29, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
- Looks good. I'll start on finishing the newsletter in about an hour. I've also seen your comments on the LMS A-class review and will get to working on those tonight and tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to review it. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 22:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Mean Girls is probably my favorite movie! In 2004, when it came out, I was 12 and didn't realize how realistic it is. Whenever I watch it now, it's like I'm watching an average day at my school. I can't wait from college, since I'll be free from my small town and I'll be able to go on to bigger, better things. --Soccer5525 (Tk • Ctrb) 20:55, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Shall I write the article about the trailer? It'd be fun. Then the article about the film can happily go away... for a while. Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 21:56, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
An article in work at my sandbox HERE. Your comments/advice would be appreciated. Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 01:47, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Okay... I think I'm ready for some final looks and suggestions. If you think its good to go, shall I then add the new article? Shall I use the original article's title, or call it something like "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse - The Pre-Film trailer" ? Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 18:35, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Here she is... Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse (trailer). It was fun making this contribution. I'll feel kinda bad if the feature never gets made... but I have the sense that it will be. Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 19:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, encourage deletion under NFF as an article about the film itself does not qualify. Point out that the little information that was in the article is now expanded and sourced in the article about the trailer. I'm there already. Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 20:58, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
Godfather and IMDb rating/rank
Would you mind commenting here: Talk:The_Godfather#IMDb_rating?
I was reviewing your comments in the The Dark Knight - IMDB rating section, and decided to remove any IMDb rankings on articles, per Wikipedia:MOSFILM#Critical_reception.
A certain editor claimed that those rankings should stay on the Godfather articles. He admitted that the ranking system may be flawed, but claimed the films' longevity at the top of the list should still merit article inclusion as a "fact."
I'd appreciate your expertise in this issue, since you're a long-standing member of WikProject Films. Thanks. --Madchester (talk) 23:41, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

- My boyfriend, Ryan, just broke up with me late last night. It was about 11:00 o' clock and I was trying to get to sleep, when I heard my phone beep. I got up, picked my phone up from my desk, and read his text message. It said, quote, "I'm sleeping with Madison (the most popular girl in school) right now, so we're breaking up." I can't believe it. He cheated on me!
I guess you wouldn't really understand. I'm a virgin, and Ryan always wanted us to sleep together, but I never agreed, because I know it's wrong. So since he can't get what he wants with me, he goes to Madison, who of course would never so no to sex. I'm sorry if I sound stupid. But I just can't believe it. --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 18:24, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- Wow, Erik. What you said was written so perfectly. I sware you should be a therapist! But anyway, I'm happy with who I am, and that's all that matters. Really, I feel badly for Madison and Ryan. They have to be mean to others, to feel good about them selves. One day in the future, Madison and all the others girls like her, will regret what they did now. --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 18:38, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

- Like digging for treasure. I believe that I can then move what I have over to the page of the article at AfD. I did do some minor cleanup of the original... correcting context, content, and setting a few wiki-links. I had similar luck with research for his contemporary Chris Kobin. His article was nothing but an unsourced list. I'll do a few tweaks and report it as happy back at its own AfD. Now Patricide is a much tougher nut. But I'll dig. Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 22:21, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- And what I wanted to do was prove the notability and give enough direction to whoever may follow. I had a slightly harder task for Chris Kobinm but found enough on him... mostly in relation to his asociation and work with Sullivan... but enough to show a notability. I think those two will become a very memorable team. My big job will be Patricide. Michael Q. Schmidt (talk) 22:39, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
My watchlist
I really need to clean it up. So I'm thinking about removing your user page and user talk from my watchlist. I don't need to watch an user page to stay in touch. Come to think of it your user page is the only three on my watchlist, but I do often have conversations with other people, just wanted to let you know that I'm removing your user page and user talk from my watchlist. I am going to only have articles on the mainspace and the WikiProjects I'm a member of on my watchlist. I remember when I decided to add WP:NOT to my watchlist, and it was a big pain because revisions arrive there so fast that I can't keep up without being stuck for hours. X-Men: First Class
I know this is thinking really ahead, but what should we do if the prequel about the young X-Men is put into production under the same title as the comic book? I reckon the film is more notable than something it simply shares its title with, like Quantum of Solace, so do you approve of if it happens, having the film's article as First Class and the comic's article being named First Class (comic book)? I'm excited for Watchmen, Captain America and Magneto because they will be period pieces. It's rather rare for superhero films, even though there are plenty of historical fantasies. Alientraveller (talk) 19:55, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
- I think it's clear CA will be a full-on period piece, while The Avengers will deal with his readjustment to the real world after being found in the ice. Essentially a a two-parter with a two month cliffhanger. No word on baddies or allies, all bets are off ever since Favreau saved Mandarin for IM2. I also imagine Bucky will be there (then again, two different Hulk flicks have not involved Rick Jones).

X-Files: I Want to Believe image
You keep removing my X-Files movie screenshot in the X-Files: I Want to Believe article, which does have a critical discussion section titled Reception, thus justifying fair use in the article. The caption itself does not have to contain critical discussion, only the article does. The image can appear anywhere in an article as long as there is discussion/commentary somewhere in the article, just as a movie photo can appear on a magazine cover and the accompanying text is in an article inside. I am a published author in the film industry. Please show me Wiki policy where it says the caption and not the article must be the justification for image fair use. Otherwise I am restoring the image before it is orphaned out and lost. 5Q5 (talk) 23:37, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
