my story today
Congratulations! - Perfect timing - I just wanted to bring November thanks anyway, having updated pics to 24 Oct. I proudly remember having sung in an oratorio premiere seven years ago OTD. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:41, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

U.S.

Is this necessary/helpful? All English speakers know where NYC is. Just checking. -- Ssilvers (talk) 18:38, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

@Ssilvers, my feeling is that it's usually redundant. Mentioning that NYC is in the US can be helpful in some cases, such as when one is referring to something like the U.S. federal government, but even this can be sometimes avoided (e.g. Federal Hall, which says that the building is owned by the U.S. federal government without also saying that NYC is in the US). – Epicgenius (talk) 19:05, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
Right, but what is your opinion of it in this case? -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:16, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
The same thing applies here - it's probably redundant in this case. – Epicgenius (talk) 19:17, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

What he said. And thanks for hook thinking. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:58, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

This bio (of an early director of the Guggenheim) is sadly deficient. It used to have more content, but that was apparently thought to have copyright issues and was deleted. In any case, a quick google search shows that there are plenty of sources out there, but I'm slammed right now and can't get to it myself. If you do add anything, I'll be happy to review. No worries if you're not able or not interested. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:19, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up @Ssilvers. I probably would not be able to look at this right now, but I'll see what could be done with the article, or ask others to help out. – Epicgenius (talk) 14:24, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Thanks! No rush. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:06, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

review, if you have the time?

Hi Epic, If you have some time in the next couple of months I was wondering if you could take a look at Wikipedia:Peer review/Third Onondaga County courthouse/archive1. Subsection font sizes

Hi Epicgenius, hope you are well. Can you please explain the font size scheme with subsection headers? In some cases, the sub-sub-sections seem to have a larger font size than their parent subsections, e.g., when further subsectioning ===bbb=== into ====CCCC==== ? Best, Castncoot (talk) 16:32, 25 November 2023 (UTC)

@Castncoot, thanks for the message. Unfortunately I have no idea why that might be the case, but this may have something to do with CSS. – Epicgenius (talk) 16:40, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
Ok thank you Epicgenius. So you've noticed this as well then? Do you use any particular workaround, or do you just settle with it? Castncoot (talk) 05:30, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
Yeah. You basically just have to edit your user CSS page (User:Castncoot/common.css) and add something like this:
.mw-body h4, .mw-body h5, .mw-body h6 {
	font-size:1.0em;
}

Hillcrest High School Riot - Wiki

The "not news" reason for deleting my section in the Hillcrest High School Wiki has no precedent when viewing Wikipedia pages for other schools. For instance in the "Dwight-Englewood School" Wikipedia page an entire section was devoted to an event that was political in nature and other schools also have sections devoted to political controversies. Pitteb (talk) 15:36, 26 November 2023 (UTC)

Please see the essay WP:CSECTION, which says: "Likewise, the article structure must protect neutrality. Sections within an article dedicated to negative criticisms are normally also discouraged. Topical or thematic sections are frequently superior to sections devoted to criticism." In other words, I'm saying the controversy sections in these articles should be trimmed and merged into the respective history sections for these articles. – Epicgenius (talk) 15:42, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
