Hello Editor 357
I've noticed that you've uploaded some images to Commons. One image at least is eligible for speedy deletion, on the account of copyright violation. Wikipedia (and the other Wikimedia projects) have strict licensing requirements. Since everything is freely licensed, the images included, we have to make sure that everything (with very few exceptions) is free to use and publish. Images from unknown sources, and especially from image search sites, are mostly copyrighted and not free, therefore require deletion. Please read Wikipedia:Image dos and don'ts, and Wikipedia:Image use policy. —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 14:29, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
@Hexafluoride: I am so sorry! I saw that some articles required images, and I also saw that Commons did not have any images of the topics that needed images. Therefore, I assumed I was supposed to upload images from google images to Commons. I tried inserting the URL of the images I wanted to add, but I came up with red text. In the future, how can I add an image to a Wikipedia article without uploading it to Commons and causing an uproar like my recent "image adding endeavors" clearly did? Thanks again! —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 19:38, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- No uproar. It's a simple mistake any newcomer can make. Well, images are supposed to be uploaded to Commons. Even images uploaded to Wikipedia, for a special circumstance, need to be free. For example, you can release images you made or took yourself under a free license, then it would be possible to upload them. A freely licensed work is one that doesn't require the permission of the copyright holder to use or modify. Fair use under the DMCA is not free, because it applies to copyrighted works that aren't free to provide a way to use them without permission for certain uses. Check Meta:Free image resources for sites that provide free images. See the lede of Wikipedia:Non-free content for a quick definition of what "free" is. —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 20:49, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Hexafluoride: Thanks! I will be sure to check those out! —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 15:34, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Diane Larsen-Freeman
Hello Editor 357,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Diane Larsen-Freeman for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kavdiamanju (talk) 18:32, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Kavdiamanju: Thanks so much! I created a blank page in order to test the format of the article creation tool, and I couldn't figure out how to delete it. Sorry for causing you any trouble! Cheers, Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 21:32, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

I would like to automatically archive my talk page. I tried posting some code I found on the top of my talk page, but with no success. Here is the code:
{{User:MiszaBot/config
| algo=old(90d)
| archive={{SUBST:FULLPAGENAME}}/Archive %(counter)d
| counter=1
| maxarchivesize=75K
| archiveheader={{Automatic archive navigator}}
| minthreadsleft=5
| minthreadstoarchive=2
}}
Feel free to make any edits to my talk page to help me with my problem. Thanks! —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 16:19, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- You have set automatic archiving to archive any talk page section where the last contribution has a date at least 28 days ago. (That is what "|algo = old(28d)" does.) At present, the oldest section was last edited 7 days ago, so nothing here is yet due to be archived. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:02, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- @JamesBWatson: Thanks! —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 18:02, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Having "minthreadstoarchive = 4" means that it won't archive anything until there are at least four sections old enough to be archived. The four oldest sections are dated 6 and 7 December, so no archiving will take place until 7 December 2016 + 28 days = 4 January 2017. Even then, I think the bot works by the exact time of the date stamp in the page, not just by the date. If I am right about that, then if the bot gets round to your page earlier in the day than the actual second when the fourth section reaches the age of 28 days, it won't be archived until 5 January. How are things?
Hello
How have you been? How are things going on Wikipedia? —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 18:41, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
@Hexafluoride: Thank you, things have been going great! I am currently taking a short break to spend time with my family, so I may not be online often. As you can probably see from my contributions page, I fixed bare URLs on one article so far. How are you doing? —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 23:39, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'm doing well, thank you. I didn't actually post for that, although that's good to hear. I just wanted to say hi. Wikipedia will be here whenever you come back. Have a good new year's. —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 07:26, 28 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Hexafluoride: I have taken some time off to spend with my kids, and I am ready to resume work on Wikipedia. I hope you had a good new year's. Feel free to give me any jobs you think I might like. —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 18:06, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
- I did, thank you. The best way to learn is to try things. Let's start by making an article on aircrafts for example? There's one already, but we'll start our own, and build it. See the assignments page. 08:07, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Hexafluoride: Hello again. I recently had to cope with the sudden death of a family member (my grandfather), so I am quite sorry for not getting back to you for quite a while. I plan to resume full-time work in just a few days, and until then I will not be editing. Bye for now! —Editor 357 (Talk • Contributions) 18:19, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
- I am sorry for your loss. You're not under a deadline or an obligation. You can edit and practice whatever you want, whenever you like. Again, my condolences. —Hexafluoride Ping me if you need help, or post on my talk 19:45, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Enabling bots
Hello. I've reverted your changes which enabled several tasks for Cyberbot II. Can I strongly suggest that you don't do that without discussing with the operator or someone else who is familiar with it. It was disabled for a reason. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 19:47, 21 January 2017 (UTC)
