Image Tagging Image:Wing-0 NeoBird.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Wing-0 NeoBird.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use gfdl to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use fairuse.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Secretlondon 07:13, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:SRW-OG box-art.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SRW-OG box-art.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:06, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Why did you revert my reversion of deletion vandalism to Caesar (video game) by 67.163.2.230 in this edit? Would you please consider reversing your action? Thanks! — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

speedy tagging.
Hi there, I've been going through checking on the speedy delete list and saw you tagged Otherkin. I'm not sure if you checked the history, though it looks like it's a fringe subject that did have an article that had been previously vandalised, and had gone unnoticed. I've now put the document to an earlier version and removed the speedy tag. Cheers Khukri 15:51, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
My talk page
Why are you giving me a hard time about my talk page? I just got this connection and I really don't need alot of nonsense warnings on my talk page thanks. 76.111.250.140 (talk) 00:10, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but as Rich Farmbrough said, it is not acceptable to delete/remove warnings from one's talk page. E Wing (talk)
- It may not be acceptable but it surely isn't against wikipedia policy. 76.111.250.140 (talk) 00:20, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Removing text
Thank you for your recent reversion to various edits of mine on the United States Talk page, and for your warning of removal of information from that page on my talk page. Please not that your reversion in fact removed material from the page as well. perhaps you should be more vigiliant in your future reversions. Thanks. 62.72.110.11 15:01, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reminder. I have recovered the lost material from the page. Thanks. E Wing 15:07, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
No thank you, you dealt with the matter in a calm, collected and civil manner, both resolving the matter as it should have been done, and acknowledging that you may have made a mistake. It is editors like yourself who, although perhaps underappreciated, keep Wikipedia afloat. So, thank you kindly. 62.72.110.11 15:27, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism to Liger by 82.150.99.2
This vandalism appears to have been done by 142.227.229.129 and was reverted by 82.150.99.2. Then 82.150.99.2 accidently undid the reversion so then redid it leaving the page clean (all within the space of 5 minutes).
I do not believe that 82.150.99.2 is guilty of vandalism, therefore should not have the notice on its talk page. 82.150.99.2 (talk) 13:18, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- I think you should talk to User:Fluri, since he/she made the warning, not me. E Wing 13:22, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. I left a message for User:Fluri and removed the warning from my page. You replaced the warning so I left a message for you as well. 82.150.99.2 (talk) 13:28, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

WP:AIV
Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! Snowolf How can I help? 15:54, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Careful with the vandalism button
Hi there! This edit, which you reverted with a Twinkle auto-comment characterizing it as "vandalism", appears to have been a good-faith edit, just done to the wrong page by mistake. Don't bite the newbies, and all. :) I assume this was just an oversight on your part. I see lots of anti-vandalism patrolling in your contribs. Hi, thanks for fighting vandals. I noticed you reported someone who had received a uw-vandalism4im: generally, it's not good to report users with only an only warning, because that's not assuming good faith. If you see someone like that, just go back to vandalism-3 or maybe 4 warning, instead of report them. Thanks! If I said something wrong, sorry, it's really early, and I'm in kind of a rush...· AndonicO Hail! 10:43, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Ultrasone
Hi, my edit wasn't vandalism, I was reverting vandalism - a previous editor had reverted to a POV and poorly sourced version that acted as an advertisement for Ultrasone, written by a banned editor who would not allow any balance on the page. I reverted to the last good version, using the undo button. In future I will leave a note too. I was about to add note on the talk page also. False revert: 71.2.4.205
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to User talk:71.62.4.205, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. It appears that you have reverted previous contructive edits on Wikipedia (see above). Consider revising the way you edit. Calling something Vandalism is a serious thing in wikipedia. You mustn't use it lightly or without being quite sure of your facts. Please read WP:VANDAL - which explains precisely what is and what isn't vandalism - and how to handle these more dubious cases. It says:
- Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Even harmful edits that are not explicitly made in bad faith are not considered vandalism. -- Remember, we are supposed to Assume Good Faith.
- ...significant content removals are usually not considered to be vandalism where the reason for the removal of the content is readily apparent by examination of the content itself, -- I think it was pretty clear why the removal happened when your read what was removed.
- Do not use ...[the vandalism]... templates in content disputes; instead, write a clear message explaining your disagreement. -- Using 'The V-word' is a serious matter, don't do it lightly!

Just In Time (business) article
I am slightly puzzled by your recent edit to the Just In Time (business) article. I am certainly not criticising, I just don't understand your comment on your recent edit. I certainly approve of the edit itself.
Here is what happened:
- 193.62.251.312 added a "kk" to the end of a line. Maybe vandalism, maybe just hitting the keyboard by mistake.
- I removed it again.
- 82.2.91.1 deleted the entire "Effects" section.
- You restored it again. But, you commented your restore with "Reverted 1 edit by 82.2.91.1 identified as vandalism to last revision by Maproom. using TW".
I didn't identify anything as vandalism. And you didn't remove the "kk". You restored something much more significant, which was nothing to do with me.
I guess I am bringing this up because I am worried that I might be the one who deleted the "Effects" section.
BTW, if you are good at handling vandalism, you might take a glance at Mongols, Timur, and Genghis Khan. This seems to be a field that attracts them (though they are all unvandalised at the time of writing). Maproom (talk) 23:19, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Let's see... After you removed the "kk" from the article, you're the last one who edited the article until User:82.2.91.1 deleted the entire "Effects" section, right? At the time I restored the entire section, I'm the last one to edit the page. The comment {automatically generated by the Twinkle script is "(Reverted 1 edit by 82.2.91.1 identified as vandalism to last revision by Maproom. using TW)" means I reverted the last edit before mine (section blanking by User:82.2.91.1) to your last version (after you deleted the "kk"). That means that the page before the blanking (your edit) was restored. As for that vandalism, the Twinkle script may generate custom edit summary but since deleting is/may also considered as vandalism, I used the "Vandalism" edit summary (the default one; maybe I'm just too lazy, sorry about that). As for the 3 articles, I'll have them under my watchlist. Thanks. E Wing (talk) 23:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation. It all makes sense to me now. And thanks for keeping an eye on Mongols etc.; and for the rest of your work, of course. Maproom (talk) 23:42, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Happy Birthday

Blanking user pages
Wikipedia policy explicitly permits users to blank their own talk pages. There is no requirement to archive. Undoing such blanking is, technically, vandalism. Please don't do it again. 136.8.152.13 (talk) 14:34, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism
As has been noted by multiple users, your habit of simply reverting recent changes, including the (perfectly allowable) blanking of one's own user page, is, itself, vandalism. This constitutes your last warning. 138.23.72.65 (talk) 16:45, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

- So there is no such policy. Just your wishful thinking, counter to Wikipendia's established policies and guidelines which recognize anonymous IP users. Thank you for the clarification, though I doubt it's what you intended. Original point stands, BTW, E Wing: before reverting edits, particularly peoples' actions on their own user pages, I suggest you check to see whether the action violates any policy. To do otherwise is, itself, contrary to policy: 1 and 2 - "On your own user talk page, you may remove comments from others." Thanks. 71.9.8.150 (talk) 22:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Isssue closed. IP are not users, are IP. Full stop. IPs are not entitled to remove warnings from their talk page. Snowolf How can I help? 00:37, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Again, please direct me to the policy page which declares IP users are not users and not entitled to the same rights as other users. It would seem any such policy would be in direct conflict with the stated aims of WP, and many other guides and policies, but I'm fully willing to be educated if I'm wrong. - You've been told by two different Wikipedia administrators that your behavior is inappropriate. Continuing to post "warnings" on users' talk pages is harassment and is only going to get you blocked. You have been warned. — Satori Son 01:30, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have, indeed, been told my behavior is "inappropriate." I have asked for clarification of precisely what policy or guideline I am violating. I do not see how I can avoid violating policies in the future if I don't know what they are. Again, I'm only seeking information here. My understanding has always been that IP users are legitimate and welcome contributors to the project. As such, it was my understanding that I could remove harassing false 'warnings' related to an edit conflict (now long resolved). When E-Wing reverted that change, my understanding was that it was he who violated policy, and I provided links to same. Can you please show me what you think i've violated? 138.23.246.0 (talk) 01:44, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sigh... as you have been told ad nauseam, the guideline you cite does not apply to IP pages. Exactly how am I supposed to prove a negative? But as far as your blockable behavior of giving warnings after you were told not to, see WP:CIVIL, WP:HARASS, and WP:POINT.
- Your "drinking the Kool-Aid" comment shows exactly how much respect you have for us and our guidelines, and I have grown weary of repeating myself. — Satori Son 12:48, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Please be patient. I recognize the addictive nature of wikipedia editing, and one way I keep my own habit in check is by refraining from registering. That doesn't mean I don't acknowledge and follow policies. I still do not understand. Where on that guideline does it say IP users are excluded or are somehow 'not' users? Every guideline I've seen claims just the opposite (examples:Wikipedia has no hierarchy with respect to IP users 3). I'm not being obtuse...I'm actually in quite some shock about what you claim is an official policy which seems counter to the whole project. I'm not asking you to prove a negative. 138.23.246.0 (talk) 14:31, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:122.106.69.62, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Thanks for trying to help, but please don't edit other's comments. - As per [5], replacement of content with a completely different content is vandalism. E Wing (talk) 06:23, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- I was told you could change the warnings and that you could delete them off your page. This user has clearly wanted his page to say that 'This user is awesome' so why is he not in trouble for it? If that user did not want his page to say 'This user is awesome' then i would have never changed his page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.60.142.113 (talk) 06:26, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- As per your reply above, it clearly states that you are a sockpuppet of User:71.60.91.93. Besides, you can delete past warnings, not current (on this month) warnings and shared/school ip and other tags. E Wing (talk) 06:31, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

I FIND YOU CALLING ME A SOCKPUPPET TO BE EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE YOU MAKE IT SEEM LIKE I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER WHAT I DO. YOU ARE A SOCK PUPPET, THE CORRECT SPELLING, TO WIKIPEDIA. YOU LET WIKIPEDIA TELL YOU WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO ACT. SO HOW THE FUCK AM I A SOCK PUPPET. AND I NEVER MADE ANY EDIT TO USER:71.60.91.93. THEREFORE, YOUR ACCUSATIONS ARE ALL FALSE NOW YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY.
- Then how you call this [6]? E Wing (talk) 06:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
THEN HOW YOU CALL THIS? THAT MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE AT ALL I SEE WIKIPEDIA REQUIRES NO GRAMMAR TEST TO BECOME AN ADMIN. HOW DO THEY PICK ADMINS? THAT WAS NOT AN EDIT THAT WAS FIXING AN ERR YOU AND YOUR CRONIES MADE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.60.142.113 (talk) 06:44, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Fixing an error? You replaced that talkpage with a completely different content. If that user wants that text to be added, then he must do it, not you. BTW, I am not an admin. E Wing (talk) 06:50, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
BTW PRIOR TO YOUR EDITS ON HIS PAGE HE MADE IT SAY THIS USER IS AWESOME. YOU MUST HAVE AN AWESOME LIFE TO COME ON HERE AND POLICE TALK. BTW HOW MUCH DO YOU GET PAID FOR IT? OR DO YOU DO IT FOR THE LOVE OF WIKIPEDIA THE LOVE OF PEOPLE LOOKING FOR KNOWLEDGE? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.60.142.113 (talk) 06:52, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

- Actually, generally speaking you shouldn't alter talk page comments from other users— especially if the talk page is not yours; and, yes, I'm an admin. Also, please avoid using ALL CAPS. --slakr\ talk / 07:38, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

- As some admins say (although I partially disagree with them), you can blank your talkpage IF you accept those warnings given to you. If you vandalized/replaced those warnings with something else, it is considered vandalism. However, you must not delete the WHOIS tag because it serves as an "indicator" of your IP address and location. E Wing (talk) 02:13, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
so may i ask why i have to keep the WHOIS tag? i agreed with all the warnings so i believe that it should be taken down also —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.60.142.113 (talk) 04:38, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- The WHOIS tag is not a warning, it is a tag made up of a template. Deleting a template in any page is considered vandalism. E Wing (talk) 12:47, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- The WHOIS tag appears once your talk page is created. Removal is just possible if an administrator deletes it (try placing db-userreq on your talk page). Regards (and sorry to interrupt), →Christian.И 10:37, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

User:Dagoth & stupidty
You reverted a sarcastic edit by me on User talk:92.4.223.217, since my IP address changes each day, it is irrelevant
The edit I did was deliberate - you have to understand what this "Dagoth" is doing. He has no authority to issue warnings - wherever he has applied for adminship/any authority, it has declined.
See this cached home page [8] - go have a look at the baned sites.
Yes 8 different wikis (or at least 8 I have tracked him down to - and yes, it is all one person).
If you examine his record, he also has a tendancy to edit a page using a IP address, then 2-3 minutes later go in and correct it!
It doesnt matter to me wither you revert your revert or not, since as I say , my IP address changes each day. --92.3.63.22 (talk) 13:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC) or even this id 92.2.101.94 (talk) 13:46, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Clearly, you need to learn more about vandalism
If you do not agree with an edit, that edit is not automatically vandalism. I have reverted your nonsense revision and would very much appreciate it if you had the common sense to keep your ill-informed notions of vandalism to yourself. Given the number of complaints on this very matter here on your talk page, it is obvious that you need to re-think some of your revisions.64.201.208.81 (talk) 15:19, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Friendly note about talk page messages
Hello. As a recent editor at User talk:83.104.51.181, I wanted to leave you a friendly reminder that as per WP:USER, editors may remove messages at will from their own talk page. While we may prefer that messages be archived, policy does not prohibit users -including anonymous editors- from deleting comments from their own talk pages. The only talk page messages that may not be removed (as per WP:BLANKING) are declined unblock requests (but only while blocks are still in effect), confirmed sockpuppetry notices, or shared IP header templates (for anonymous editors) ... and these exceptions are just to keep a user from gaming the system. Hi E Wing,
you removed my link to organic cotton, but pls reconsider it. when you go to better-dressed information you will find helpfull information about organic cotton versus contventional textile production, including the video "China Blue". Thieves guild
As regards your review of Thieves guild two points stand out: 1. You were wrong to refer the contents as nonsense; I opened the page in reference to a GAME. I guess people dont understand that in D&D, FANTASY IS NONSENSE . I appologize as english is my 2nd language. 2. You must be intelligent as you are an administrator. I respect this and accept criticism with a smile but, you were rude. Thank you. p.s. Not one thing I said was not at least a component of the game. Are you familiar with D&D? - Sorry, but I nominated it for G1 based from the content itself, I didn't notice that it is for a game though. Anyway, your article is now already redirected to Thieves' Guild, and I'm sorry to say that I am not a Wikipedia administrator, that English is also my 2nd language, and I'm not familiar with Dungeon and Dragons (since it is not popular in my country). Speedy deletion of RJ REVILLA
Please do not move pages to nonsensical titles. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to learn more about moving pages, please see the guidelines on this subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. E Wing (talk) 13:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

If an editor has nothing on their user talk page but advertising, it would probably be best to blank the advertising and replace it with an explanation of why advertising does not belong there. If you put a speedy deletion tag on the page and the corresponding warning, the page might get speedily deleted without the editor having a chance to learn what the problem was. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 15:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Froebel
The naming guidleines for this article appear clear as I have set out at Talk:Friedrich_Wilhelm_August_Froebel The recent attempt to move this article to a page with German umlauts is not consistent with English usage and serves only to confuse English speaking readers. Either Friedrich Froebel or Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel would be preferred by English speakers. I have followed you instructions above. Fred20x (talk) 13:23, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- Perhaps you can help me sort out the mess that Kelisi has made of the Froebel article. He seems unaware that Froebel has been widely used in the English speaking world for over a 150 years and appear this way in numerous Englsh sources. Most English speakers find umlauts very confusing. Friedrich Froebel is the logical place for this article, perhaps noting his full name and the German spelling. Fred20x (talk) 14:14, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm actually confused over at WP:NCCN. If you want help, you may contact other editors (and admins) at WP:IRC. E Wing (talk) 14:37, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
User talk page blanking
Despite my earlier protecting of User talk:68.49.67.157, editors are permitted to blank their own talk pages. In terms of warnings, that just means we assume they've read them. I guess I just got annoyed last time when I protected the page.--chaser - t 04:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, I know that policy. But the problem is that that specified user has just got a level-4 vandalism warning from me and he also deleted the AIV report concerning his actions. BTW, removing a WHOIS tag is constituted as vandalism. Cheers! E Wing (talk) 04:18, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I forgot about this one. This is the IP that puts obscene pictures in the sandbox and on his own talk page. Cute.--chaser - t 04:19, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. I already removed those obscene pictures from the sandboxes and IP pages. Really cute lol. E Wing (talk) 04:22, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

- Something like that, except if it gets noticed by others on a large scale. E Wing (talk) 06:53, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- Rather ridiculous, but thanks anyways.(Courax (talk) 06:55, 1 December 2008 (UTC))
- How long do I have to prove it a good site?/And are there any other sites like this one I might be able to use? (Courax (talk) 07:01, 1 December 2008 (UTC))

Apologies
Hello. Sorry for accidentally nuking your ref fixes at Barry Chamish earlier. I'm surprised it didn't report as an edit conflict. CIreland (talk) 14:20, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, it did report as an edit conflict, except it was on my side. Anyway, no harm done :-) E Wing (talk) 14:22, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! :)
I appreciate the information, and especially the link. What I had learned before (no link that time) was that page blanking by anons was NOT allowed. I always appreciate a hand from more experienced editors, and it is all the more valuable when it includes the link to the actual Wikipedia information. sinneed (talk) 15:00, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Also, I have shamelessly grabbed the look of your talk page banner, and used it on my own talk page. Thank you for that look as well. :) sinneed (talk) 15:26, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, its also my former belief that (talk)page blanking by anons is prohibited, until it was pointed out to me by some editors and/or admins in the IRC channel. As for the talkpage banner I also grabbed it from some user's page. Cheers! E Wing (talk) 03:17, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- Just for the record, there are many admins, myself included, that do not believe there is community consensus to allow the blanking of shared IP talk pages. In fact, the relevant section at WP:TALK is marked "under discussion".
- Welcome back, by the way. I'm always happy to see your name at "Recent changes". — Satori Son 20:41, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

I have deleted, restored and semi-protected your user page. There is a vandal running around that inserts a phone number on pages. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 15:06, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

I have removed the speedy delete A1 tag you placed on this article. I think the saying that the subject is most known for appearing on SuicideGirls and giving a link to their profile on that website established a context from which they can be identified. Test Edit Jellymon Jan 9th 2009
Hello, I wasn't making a test edit. I was writing a new page. It's very difficult for new users to understand all the rules of wikipedia!
I feel my edit was more valuable than the information that was held on the page for "Jellymon". Is there not a way I can change it? and leave a link to the Digimon page, right now if you search the word Jellymon you get redirected, so I don't understand why writing a new entry but leaving the redirection option is against wikipedia's rules?
Thank you very much
Paul Paul Rohansmith (talk) 03:27, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- You may start out (and edit) your new article as Jellymon (studio), however your studio must satisfy WP:NOTABILITY. E Wing (talk) 14:59, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
I think they satisfy the Notability. It was the first wiki entry I wanted to write, I have a few more about Chinese design/music but it's difficult to work out how to do. I can't work out how to start a new article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul Rohansmith (talk • contribs) 03:24, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Regarding your tag on File:Idog-bk-toy-ohio-08.jpg
Please re-read Wikipedia:CSD#I10. The criteria exempts image, video or sound files and specifically notes that document file types and the like are meant to be targeted. An image which is unused, of poor quality and unencyclopedic (Assuming it is free content) must be taken to Images for deletion. Thank you. Protonk (talk) 20:36, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for signaling
..but that page is really vandalised day after day by unnamed user who change username everyday and that page really need care and attention from administrators like you mister, so if you can do this, protecting that page, do it, because Its very hard to recover all bunch of junk of that user. thank you IslandShader (talk) 10:40, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Ahemhalloffame
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. E Wing (talk) 13:13, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
User talk:Stephaniemusk
What did you have in mind with the proposed delete at User talk:Stephaniemusk? I would have just put a welcome message there. Agathoclea (talk) 15:14, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- Nah nevermind. I was supposed to move back her talkpage from Talk:Beetle and Wedge, but I'll have the article talkpage be deleted as a test page. Feel free to do whatever you like. Thanks! E Wing (talk) 15:17, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
- That would have worked. WP:RM or contacting any admin would have done the trick easier than tagging pages in such more complex circumstances. Agathoclea (talk) 15:21, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Mistake?
Hi, E Wing! I saw that you have reverted an edit made by a new user at the help desk. I think that this was not vandalism, but the user was actually looking for help. However, as you said, the question was not a suitable one for the help desk. But in that case, we should direct them to the correct place or tell them that we cannot help them with their particular question (which is why we have these templates). Let's AGF and try to help them out, or someone that might become a good editor in the future may be scared away if they sense that this place is hostile IMHO. Cheers and happy editing :) Chamal talk 12:08, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, although as per AGF I didn't warn the user about this. However thanks for the template link though! E Wing (talk) 12:14, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- No problems :) I see you're doing quite a good job here, btw. Nice to meet you. Chamal talk 12:23, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Am I blacklisted
Hi E Wing, just happened to see my messages it read that that I would be blocked for inserting external links. Was not aware of the wiki policy on external links. Wanted to check with you if I was blocked? How do I find out? How do I unblock myself? Steve Farnell (talk) 13:14, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Steve_Farnell
- From your user contributions, it looks like that you are linking to a certain company's web page, which may thought of as a spam. However, the content of those pages (particularly the PDF files) may be the ones that you actually want to link it as an article's external link, although this may think of as a copyright violation.
Also, for your questions:
- Please see this for the policies involved for the external links.
- To see your account status, please click on the "User contributions" link on the lower left on your user (or user talk) page. At the "User contributions" page, please click the "block log" on the top to show your block status. A block log on that page will appear if you are block (although you may also be recieving a block tag on your talk page stating why you are blocked). You may also see this for more information.
- To appeal on your block, please see this.
To be sure, you may talk to the one who gave your most recent warning, or ask (atleast) one of these administrators. Thanks and happy editing! E Wing (talk) 15:05, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Thank You EWing, I am not blocked. But I guess I was in doubt because I was using urls of a domain which has fallen under the blocked list. I may be partially responsible for it. Will follow your advice , and link it to only something specific on a pdf file or a book reference. Can I edit the links I has posted? I have quite a bit of interesting matter which would be cutting edge technology from Cypress. Is it okay to post these articles with appropriate references. 61.12.17.227 (talk) 05:15, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Steve_Farnell
Thank you E Wing
That was not a vandalism. One other Wiki - admin also asked about it. Let me share the answer with you as well.
- The regulation was made in the assembly of NC and all NC's official public organizations adopted new change. For example, The ministry of Tourism of NC prepared a web site that used "northcyprus" in the address. Also, the private organizations are obliged to use the new form of name and hence web sites addresses of the privates were changed accordingly. For example: http://www.northcyprus.com , http://www.northcyprus.org etc. Also, the ministry's page is http://www.northcyprus.cc Also, almost all private companies completed the name change: For example: The Shipping firm Fergun: http://www.fergun.net Here, in this site, just look at the title page of the web site.
- Unfortunately, there is no BOT in Wikipedia for such kinds of name changes. In the case of NC, it can be done easily. But what if it was a big country !!!
- The Wiki-users in North Cyprus decided to change the wiki-page (you mentioned where "branding" occured) at the end. The Ministry of Tourism Web site of North Cyprus is http://www.northcyprus.cc . Also, when there is a quick adoptation of the new name: when you just google (http://www.google.com.tr) the "North Cyprus" and "Northern Cyprus", the following hit numbers occur: "North Cyprus": 1 450 000 and "Northern Cyprus": 815 000. But, don't forget to use quotation marks (" ") when googling since only in the quotationed case, the reality is seen very neatly. Thank you very much for your kind interest.
- Dear Friend. You have very rightful for confusing, since one foreigner can easily confuse this. The usage is like that: Long Form: "The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus" and the Short Form: " North Cyprus". The page you mentioned (http://www.kktcb.eu/index.php) is the Official Page of Presidency of TRNC. Just look at the page http://www.kktcb.eu/index.php and the menu above there once more: The links are: PRESIDENT & PRESIDENCY & PRESS OFFICE & DOCUMENTS & CONTACT & NORTH CYPRUS & E-DIRECTORY & E-LIBRARY. So, you gave the proof just yourself. Thanks a lot: As the legal name change is clear in the menu.
- As for the "Move Tab" suggestion: It is very logical. Unfortunately, the old page is recreated for those who are unaware of the related name law. Hence, the old version is re-edited and redirecting tag is removed from them without knowing the issue. We opened this arguement in the deletion review page of Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2009_February_7 ) and the solution offered is that one.
You said "Reverted 1 edit by Cheapfriends identified as vandalism". I want to revert in the light of above explanations IF YOU GIVE CONSENT. Cheapfriends (talk) 19:21, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- Hi E Wing, just a note, the above user is a now-blocked sock of prolific puppeteer User:VivaNorthCyprus. You might want to consider removing this section entirely for WP:DENY purposes. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 00:54, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info, but I rather keep his/her note as record-keeping, although I do reverts on vandalism that majorly affects my user/user talk page/s. Thanks. E Wing (talk) 05:26, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Whois
I saw that you'd added Comcast Cable Communications Inc. to User talk:69.136.22.207. But as far as I can tell, Comcast is really just the ISP. Is that kind of tag really helpful for an IP that's just one of a few million? It's not a big deal, but I usually just see those tags on talk pages that belong to organizations with a few IPs. It's just a quibble - I'm glad someone does that maintenance work. Will Beback talk 05:04, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

- I've received the copy of the said article (stated below is User:NawlinWiki's reply). I'd say that let's assume good-faith on this user, since there is a possibility that he is not the user as stated in the WP:SPI report, unless he starts vandalizing.
