[edit]Hello, I'm Blaze Wolf. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wikipedia:Teahouse have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Blaze_Wolf I need help to identify
[edit]Garry Salter first tried to sell something using the internet in 1999 Dude Level (talk) 02:39, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ok. And? Why do you need to tell me this. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 02:48, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
Blaze Wolf, you sound like the right resource to help me identify my message.
[edit]"Advertising"? Long gone. I don't sell anything. I am Garry, in 1999 I architected a piece of software that "went viral" way before we had the term. And I am damaged, I'm quiet, and back then my company was contractually stollen. I am now 52, that experience metaphorically and psychologically shot me in the face. I have just woken up and I want our work to be recognised. I will name every person that helped make it for the first time. Or are you a robot and I need the attention of a human, maybe a contributor that can help me share the story, and why it mattered? Dude Level (talk) 02:53, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry. Your initial post seemed like an advertisement, however after looking closer I saw that it wasn't. It's not clear what you are wanting to do here unfortunately. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 03:03, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks x. (Sincerely) Dude Level (talk) 03:14, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- I may be in the wrong space, I am brand new to writing anything that ontributes [please forgive my occasional missed 'c's (a ciggie ash dropped on my brand new mac!, ten years to get a new one... so sad.. CCCCC! ugh..
- SO. I dont know how to write what we did, but we have to do it! I had to convince and convert the card merchants to accept this (none of the big ones trusted it... We [I] changed that. We did so much. And we got pushed back so much that it has affeted me for 20+ years.
- So my [late] dad said, and this was his sales pitch, "in the Gold Rush of '49, the ones that made the money were the ones selling the shovels, not the ones panning for gold."... yeah 1849.. oh MY i'm in tears | joy | love | ....
- So... who could help try to explain what I need to share? Dude Level (talk) 03:28, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- Blaze is a person (as am I). My reply at Teahouse explains that an article at Wikipedia must have verification through published content that is used as references. If there is no documentation that your software was appropriated by others without crediting you, then the story cannot become a Wikipedia article. Teahouse hosts provide advice, but do not serve as authors or co-authors. David notMD (talk) 04:40, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
- Your chronology seems to be off. e-Commerce has been around since 1979. Amazon was already selling books on the internet in 1995. MrOllie (talk) 14:11, 28 January 2023 (UTC)
