Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:28, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Elcor, Minnesota

[edit]

Hello, Doctor Papa Jones!

Would you have any interest in translating the featured article Elcor, Minnesota for the Danish Wikipedia? Since many of the immigrants who settled here were from Scandanavia, I think having the article translated in this language is important, especially for any relatives of former residents who are looking for information about the town. Thanks! DrGregMN (talk) 15:07, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sure DrGregMN. I'll ping you. Best, Doctor Papa Jones • (Click here to collect your prize!) 16:21, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm translating this into Finnish per request, for the same reasons of demographic history. So far I'm having fun with it, but beware, there's a lot of U.S. property and company law and administrative unit terminology as well as specialized mining terms that are not so easy to translate. You can contact me if you are running into problems with some of those. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 20:17, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Aha, I see Finnusertop! Well, thanks for the "warning". I'll make sure to contact you if I feel the need to do so. Depending on how much time I'll have to spare for Wikipedia this week, there's a chance I'll start with small translation and then expand on it later maybe, I don't know yet. We'll see. Best, Doctor Papa Jones • (Click here to collect your prize!) 21:56, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you guys!DrGregMN (talk) 15:44, 14 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I will delay the promised translation till Wednesday as I'm just so busy with university stuff at the moment! Best, Doctor Papa Jones • (Click here to collect your prize!) 16:26, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Honour Chevron of the Old Guard

[edit]

Hello DPJ!

I'm sorry to bother you, I see you contributed to the Honour Chevron of the Old Guard article. I am having some difficulty with an editor who know claims that this, along with the Blood Order and the Golden Party Badge are "trivial" awards and are not to be linked to in other articles. As you contributed to the Blood Order article, I'm hoping you don't consider it a trivial award? My problem is that I don't see what is wrong with linking to a stand-alone article, like the Honour Chevron of the Old Guard, in another article, such as the Ernst Röhm article, which I've been adding content to. I don't see what function a stand-alone article serves if you are not allowed to provide a link to it in another article? I also don't see how it is now, based on one editor's say-so, a "trivial" award? I have asked him why I can't link to a stand-alone article but have received no reply, other than it is now menial and not permitted to be linked. This has happened to me on many occasions, with many awards and decorations. I have asked for a list of so-called "trivial" awards so I know not to link to them again, have my added content deleted and wait for the inevitable aggressive warning (see my talk page). Again, no such list has been made available by this editor, so what do I do? Just add links to stand-alone articles and hope for the best or just stop adding links to stand-alone articles? The thing is, I have added many awards and decorations to many articles, but they still stand, so I'm at a loss as to why it's ok to provide links in some articles but not the ones that the editor in question is monitoring. I'm not asking you to take sides or anything like that, what I would greatly appreciate is your input on the Ernst Röhm talk page. If you feel stand-alone articles are not to be linked, fair enough. If you think it's ok, it would be helpful for the consensus of editors ruling on this. If you also don't view the Honour Chevron of the Old Guard, the Blood Order or the Golden Party Badge or any others as "trivial", which I'm thinking you don't as you took the time to add to the article, it would be greatly appreciated if you could say so. I just don't see the problem with linking to stand-alone articles. If they're not link-worthy, what function do they serve?

Thank you for your time

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Nazi Party and SS member Wilhelm Brückner in 1924.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Nazi Party and SS member Wilhelm Brückner in 1924.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sine Renlev moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Sine Renlev, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:24, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'll leave this to Catfurball to sort out. Peace! Doctor Papa Jones • (Heeya!) 17:16, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Sine Renlev, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:36, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Sine Renlev

[edit]

Hello, Doctor Papa Jones. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Sine Renlev".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! HasteurBot (talk) 22:00, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Six years!

--Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:44, 8 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on World Media Rights requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
