Notice re potential conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, DendroLab. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Franco Biondi, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- Euryalus (talk) 11:09, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments. I was in the process of adding multiple citations using reliable, published sources to the page but it was not clear to me how to save the draft without submitting it for review. I do not expect to receive compensation for this activity, and the reason for submitting this page is that I have made a significant impact in my field (for example, my H-index is greater than 40 and I have more than 100 peer-reviewed publications). I will include the COI statement you require but I should point out that several of my colleagues already have their own published Wikipedia page.
I've also requested a change of username, as another editor requested. DendroLab (talk) 15:57, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The existence of articles about your colleagues has no influence over whether an article about you will be accepted; the subject of each article must merit inclusion individually. The governing rule in this case is Wikipedia:Notability (academics). In the draft you submitted, the sources you supplied are of insufficient quantity and quality to pass these notability criteria.
Since you are not an objective judge of your own notability, you should not even be attempting to write about yourself at all. The reasons are further explained at Wikipedia:Autobiography, and the essays "Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not about YOU" and "Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing". --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:51, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
