Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Thomas I, bishop of Wrocław, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Grandson, Endowment and Gothic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Bishops of Wrocław

Hi! I noticed that you created a series of articles on the bishops of Wroclaw. Please be careful to add a space between the name of the bishop and the words "(Bishop of Wrocław)" (I've already fixed a few). Also, please be consistent with spelling; you named one article Haymo (Bishop of Wrocław), but you spelled his name in the article as Heymo.

הסרפד (call me “Hasirpad) (formerly R——bo) 00:36, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

Also note that in Polish sources his name is also spelled Hajmo.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Ancient Diocese of Oloron may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s and 1 "{}"s likely mistaking one for another. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Diversion of Water from the Meuse Case

At the Diversion of Water from the Meuse Case article, the citation needed tag is specifically for the claim that this is a landmark judgment or case, which is basically saying it made a major point and is a major case in some area. The citation you gave simply listed that it was a case of the PCIJ, with nothing about it's importance. Please leave the tag where it is until there is a citation or reference that describes the judgment/decision/case as "landmark". IMHO (talk) 03:37, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Oscar Chinn Case

I'm not trying to pick on you, quite the contrary, I'm glad someone is adding even a little bit on some of the PCIJ cases, but I've added the citation needed tag to you reference of the case as a key case. Since there are so few, and since they all deal with international issues and concerns of at least two states, for me there is no issue about notability, but when you describe a case a "key" or "a landmark case" for the PCIJ itself or international law generally, I do think there needs to be a citation to a reputed publication that says just that.

Keep up the good work though. Definitely helpful to get these cases added. IMHO (talk) 02:05, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Removing Speedy at Jakub z Sienna

Hi D A R C 12345, you recently removed a deletion tag from Jakub z Sienna. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 07:35, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

The article Phil Dooley (pastor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources advanced to show that the subject satisfies the general notability guideline. Seems to be a run-of-the-mill clergyman.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. advice

As reviewing administrator, I have declined to immediately delete these articles, because it is quite possible that they do in fact constitute significant precedents (and the comments by subsequent courts and textbook writers that they are basic precedents would be reason for inclusion of the articles). Merely showing they are cited is not enough, -- it has to be clear these are import as precedents or teaching examples.

But you have not shown this. Unless you do, or unless somebody choose to do it, the articles will almost certainly be deleted. I advise you to fix the problem, and do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process.

Please don't enter further articles this way. It creates an unreasonable burden for other people to have to complete them. DGG ( talk ) 19:12, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Sorry! I don't want to discourage you, but I have deleted the information that you added to that article, and I'm here to explain why.

  • That article is most specifically on Cathedrals. It is about how cathedrals function and what there role is. It isn't about large buildings that are sometimes loosely, or traditionally called "cathedral". That rules out Ulm Minster, St Peter's Basilica, Santa Maria Maggiore and various others.
  • The article isn't about buildings, per se. There is a brief description of the ways in which cathedral buildings are utilised, but there is no detailed description of what cathedral buildings are generally like. The focus is on historic, social and cultural roles. So that is not the right place for a list like that.
  • Look and Read, before you add. Basically, don't add content, without checking first. Start with the Table of Contents. A quick look at the subheadings, and the "See also" section would have directed you to a number of other articles where your addition might be more appropriate. Just above where you made the insertion was a "See also" direction to an article Architecture of cathedrals and great churches. OK! By it's name it tells you that information on St Peter's and Ulm Minster is going to be welcome on that page. It also tells you, at a glance , that the article deals with buildings, not with how a cathedral chapter is structured and matters of that type.
  • One of the problems with not thinking through a lengthy addition, is that most "page watchers" are going to hesitate to remove it, unless they know for sure that the article doesn't include buildings like St Peter's. The onus is on the editor to get it right, because most people who watch for vandalism are not watching for well-intentioned but misplaced edits.
  • There are already a number of pages of facts such as largest, tallest etc. There is a fair bit of dispute about the largest church building. AS for the height of spires, well, you have to leave the word "cathedral" out of that, because Ulm etc etc.
  • On the other hand, I think that some fun facts at the end of that article (the architecture one) wouldn't go astray. You need to reference every single fact.
  • The article Cathedral, you may have noticed, is poorly referenced. Some of the oldest articles on Wikipedia have very few references. But any new info ought to be fully referenced. The Architecture of cathedrals article is referenced.
  • The other suggestion is that there might be a place for another list. You would have to check out all the church and cathedral lists first, before creating.

Amandajm (talk) 02:59, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

I was just taking a good look at some of the info to see what might be useful.
Oldest is problematic because buildings have been muddled up that are ancient, but originally served a different purpose, and churches that are genuinely of very ancient foundation.
Strangest is not a goer. It is a purely subjective category. In fact, if you compare the centrally-planned, tall buildings of recent times, you find that they might be different from earlier buildings, but are not unusual compared with other recent cathedrals. Likewise Brasilia Cathedral isn't unusual if compared with Liverpool Roman Catholic Cathedral and other churches built at that time.
Check out the existent lists of oldest, largest tallest and see if you can find references. The lists need to refer to "church" rather than "cathedral" because the functional category is too small, and excludes most basilicas and Orthodox churches. Amandajm (talk) 03:12, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. adding an entry is obviously not a minor edit Dougweller (talk) 05:54, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
