Vikram Dasgupta moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Vikram Dasgupta. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Wikishovel (talk) 14:44, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, CreativeWikiWorks,
Don't keep resubmitting the same draft over and over again without making major changes to it or the next time, it will be rejected which means you can not submit it any more. Take some time improving the article rather than resubmitting it or it will never be accepted. Our AFC reviewers' time is precious and it is a waste of their time to keep reviewing your draft when you haven't paid attention to their advice.
If you have questions, go to the AFC Help Desk which is linked in one of the messages above. Liz Read! Talk! 19:20, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is unfortunately a common scam. Do not pay for any editing services. Please report them by following the instructions at WP:SCAM. Qcne (talk) 17:45, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CreativeWikiWorks. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CreativeWikiWorks. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CreativeWikiWorks|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 10:18, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I hv not receiving any payment for this! I am just started watching his films and wondering why there other with less credibility and awards that are on Wikipedia. Maybe you should check the rest before falsely accusing me! I could also question all the Wikipedians this same question, what's their interest? Self promotions? i.e. on their user pages...? CreativeWikiWorks (talk) 12:34, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Your name sounds like that of a company that offers paid editing services and your edits have been about the same indivdual. You didn't pick them at random to edit about, how did you come to edit about them?
Please see other stuff exists; if there are "other with less credibility and awards"; please point those out so action can be taken. We need the help to identify inappropriate articles, this cannot justify adding more inappropriate articles. 331dot (talk) 12:40, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Canadian Newspaper & NZ are not reliable enough? CreativeWikiWorks (talk) 13:22, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please again have a look at Richie Mehta & Aditya Kripalani ... The list could go on.... How erer they approved? with comments citation neeeded...? - ignored "Or help extended the article..." ? CreativeWikiWorks (talk) 13:33, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That other articles exist does not mean that they were "approved" by anyone. There are many ways to get an article past reviewers; it could also be that these other articles were created in the past, long before current standards. 331dot (talk) 13:34, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You also claim to have the copyright to a movie poster, which suggests a relationship. If you have one, now is the time to be honest about it. 331dot (talk) 12:42, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will make a list for this . I am still working on this as article as it keeps getting rejection for not being reliable sourced. Which for me is really confusing. I understand that there has to be notable and all. But I have linked so many sources and still insufficient? I am comparing with the other pages. The other individual in mind don't have the credentials as this person or already have a page. Sorry just my thoughts. Don't mean to be harsh. Thank you. CreativeWikiWorks (talk) 12:48, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just want to see how to go about it as I tried to upload on Wikipedia commons but had to provide approval from owner. How would I even get that? CreativeWikiWorks (talk) 12:50, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You should not use other random articles as an example- these too could be inappropriate and just not yet addressed, and you would be unaware of this. If you want to use other articles as a model or example, use those that are classified as good articles, which have been checked by the community.
Movie posters cannot be uploaded to Commons. They can be uploaded to this Wikipedia locally under "fair use" rules, though that does carry some restrictions(like being unable to be used in a draft). If you are trying to put images in your draft, you don't need to worry about it until the draft is accepted- images are not relevant to the draft approval process, which only considers the text and sources.
It is doubtful that the makers of the film would want to release the poster for their film under a license compatible with Wikipedia(allowing for reuse by anyone for any purpose with attribution) as that would mean others could make money off of their work and they would not be entitled to a cut of it. But you could certainly try contacting the makers of the film.
Again, your name sounds like a company name. Is it? How did you come to edit about this person and their work? You didn't pick it at random. Again, now is the time to be honest about this. 331dot (talk) 12:57, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did some research on and saw that there's is no page on him yet. Why? I have watched some of his movies long before this. I have researched all his movies recently. I have children who have similar interest and moved by his work. Again I repeat I am not getting any payment for this at all. You may contact him directly through his website info. if you don't believe me. Thank you. CreativeWikiWorks (talk) 13:18, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 13:26, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am not being paid. Just trying to be a volunteer and contribute, there's nothing to disclose if nothing was received for any advertising or promotional purposes. Just the fact I am new and following misleading Youtube videos about Wikipedia. Sorry for that. Thank you. If I can't get even 1 article out why should I try find others, there is a lot of research to do to comply

Decline reason:

One open unblock request at a time, please. You had two with contradictory username change requests. Additionally, you seem to think if you aren't directly paid for your edits, that means there's nothing to disclose. This is incorrect. Please reread WP:COI. Additionally, nothing here convinces me you understand why your submissions are being rejected. We don't want you continuing to waste the time of our reviewers so would need to clearly understand why, say, Draft:Vikram Dasgupta continues to be rejected. You are in error. You must disclose a conflict of interest whether paid or not. Additionally, any paid relationship with a topic(such as general marketing services or managing services) triggers the paid editing disclosure requirement, it does not require specific payment for edits or specific payment for promotional activities. Instead of trying to weasel out of disclosing, just be honest with us. 331dot (talk) 19:46, 5 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you personally feel I am guilty then so be it. The only fact is just that I am of the same decent as he is & a fan of his work who thought he is notable enough and if that falls under COI then who am I to argue. Maybe it should hv gone to the filmmakers-Stub or taken over by someone else or even deleted (I don't know anymore). All I know it's been a good learning experience for me. I will leave at this as it is too much stress and inconvenience also for a lot of editors here too. I am truly Sorry for all the inconvenience caused. Best wishes. As earlier mentioned I would like to request to be unblocked as I did not receive any paid contribution for the article as I am only a fan/friend of a fan/friend. This article has caused a lot of other 3rd parties to approach the person offering their services. Thanking you for understanding.

Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and

Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and

Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
