Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Wikipedia documentation, there's also Wikipedia:Topical index.
Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.
Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

P.S. I like messages :-P
- You are not, and never have been, blocked. If you got caught by an IP block you'll need to give us that address so we can track it down. Wikibofh(talk) 15:07, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Stephen Colbert had another report mentioning Wikipedia tonight, as such we are under attack from all Colbert references. Shoot on sight, and salt the earth. Special:Blocklog & Special:Deletionlog Special:Logs. Teke (talk) 05:38, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, things have slowed down so I can follow up with all the admin actions. Colbert has the same result as the Slashdot effect, with tens of articles and hundreds of usernames being created in rapid succession. Some of these articles may turn into real content- at this moment there is no verification or reliable source and massive disruptions result. Ignore all rules, and stable the project. [edit]Please read WP:BLP. I'm an admin. You'll end up blocked. Enough said. -- Rick Block (talk) 03:59, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm perfectly willing to assume good faith, however the allegations we're talking about can't be left on the page in question or on any talk page. I apologize if my comment above came across too strong. This is a serious issue. The allegation itself can't be on the page. No talk page can include it as a quote. Cryptic references are OK, but direct quotes are not. -- Rick Block (talk) 05:19, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
