Rulloff, Wilder Brains
[edit]Rockey, I created two pages in a fit of editing last night Edward H. Rulloff and Wilder Brain Collection. I'm sure both could benefit from your perusal. Yes, I still sometimes edit the wikipedias. --Cjs56 (talk) 14:56, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Apology
[edit]I am not a "wikischolar". So I am not as versed as you in the world of Wikipedia.
I apologize if I came off as threatening. My last response to you about messaging Chris and having his fans delete your tags was just to show you that he is in fact what his wiki profile says he is - A young comic with a fanbase on mySpace and Youtube.
Earlier this week, I noticed his page had been vandalized. 2 comments were put on there: "Chris is an assclown" and "Chris Kanik is the man who was pregnant." Along with these came your tags for citations. I grouped you in with those comments. i understand you want everything to be "reliable" on wikipedia - however - in the case of Chris - the references come in the form of his footage. The only 3rd party websites are the MTV, Bamboozle and the South Africa sites - everything else is noted on Youtube and Myspace in his footage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.222.140.4 (talk) 22:04, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
DC Meetup Events: You're invited!
[edit]
Wikipedia Loves Art! (February 27) The Smithsonian American Art Museum will be holding a Wikipedia Loves Art! meetup on Friday, February 27 from 5-7 pm in the Kogod Courtyard. This is a photography event involving Wikipedians, along with Flickr users and others, to generate content for Wikipedia. Come share your experiences, meet the other teams, and take some photos! While RSVPing isn't necessary drop Jeff Gates an email if you're planning on attending so he can get a head count: gatesj (at) si.edu. There also is a signup list here, along with detailed information. The museum is conveniently located across from the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro station. DC 6th Meetup (March 7) The DC 6th meetup will take place on March 7th at Pizzeria Uno's at Union Station, one level up from the main floor. The meetup will start at 5pm, and people usually stick around there for several hours. You can RSVP at Wikipedia:Meetup/DC 6. |

I've noticed that you edit a lot of cornell-related wikipedia pages. since you have the status, you should add a picture of jon kleinberg to the jon kleinberg page and also edit the Google page to include information that the academic community accepts that Kleinberg first highlighted the value of a ranking system based on linking between websites years and had this published a year before Page rankings was even conceived.

WikiProject Lacrosse & NCAA Hockey
[edit]Hello Cornellrockey. As an active member of the Wikipedia community, you may or may not be aware of the Wikiproject Lacrosse team which has contributed many entries related to lacrosse. I'm a part of that team.
Anyway, I thought you might appreciate an invitation to what I hope will be a joint success story with a related (in a lot of ways) new wiki site called Fanbase.com. I'm not promoting or spamming this, but rather trying to direct certain wiki users to another active wiki community where your specific insight in any area of sport would be appreciated. I've spent about the last month doing a lot of updating on the site, when it was in beta mode, and the site officially launched on Aug 24. I think it ties in real nicely to what I've been trying to accomplish in Wikipedia, namely documenting sports and lacrosse history. So please feel free to browse the site -- http://www.fanbase.com -- and join in the fun!
As someone who is seemingly devoted to Cornell, the Ivy League, and Ice Hockey -- you should be able to bring a lot more "inside knowledge" to this new web site.
Lastly, please let me know if you feel this request conflicts with any Wikipedia TOS or even your own sensibilities. Thanks !! --10stone5 (talk) 11:07, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- Just a follow up -- BTW, Fanbase.com has a pretty vibrant College DI community with the link to Cornell Ice Hockey here -- http://www.fanbase.com/Cornell-Big-Red-Mens-Ice-Hockey. thx. --10stone5 (talk) 17:47, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Rolling rock bottles.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Rolling rock bottles.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:45, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Cornellrockey! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Speedy Deletion
[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Jeet Heer
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jeet Heer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Lithpiperpilot 06:36, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Pennsylvania State Game Lands
[edit]The history of this article showed that GünniX edited, but he indicated on his talk page when I asked that you did, by adding the Protected Areas of Pennsylvania navbox. That's great! I didn't know that existed. I created the Game Lands navbox and included it in that article as well as articles for each of the Game lands that have articles. I will be adding more SGL articles soon. I noted that the Protected Areas don't include the State Game Lands. I would like to add them as an additional group into thet navbox, but I'm not sure I have access to the template. I would like to copy the code to my sandbox, add the group, and have it reviewed by you or someone else before inserting the group into the love box. Your opinion? Thanks, again.Are1718 (talk) 01:54, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

I appreciate your help. I have a copy of it in my sandbox, and will add the State Game Lands in the State section. Over 300 of them, it'll take a few days to get it all in. I'll let you know.Are1718 (talk) 20:18, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
Cornellrockey, I found I do have access to the Template Protected Areas of Pennsylvania. I was able to copy and paste the table to my Sandbox. If you would like to review the table to ensure I did it right, I can then copy/paste the text back to the template. I added the Game Lands listing to the end of the State group. I realize that there are only a few articles about the individual game lands. Hopefully, this will spur others to add articles. I am working on some of them now to fill them in. Thanks for your help. No hurry, that table's been there for nine years, it can keep for a while.Are1718 (talk) 16:24, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
It looked pretty good in my sandbox so I copied the update over to the live template, worked well. I would like to thank you much for the help you've given me.Are1718 (talk) 11:40, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of EARC (disambiguation)
[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of EARC (disambiguation)
[edit]Hello Cornellrockey,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Kingsif and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I have tagged an article that you started, EARC (disambiguation) for deletion, because it is unnecessary and disambiguates only a single page.
If you feel that the page shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kingsif}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Disambiguation link notification for August 21
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Joe Biden 2020 presidential campaign endorsements, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Richard Armitage. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Non-profit foundation draft article
[edit]Hello, Cornellrockey. I noticed that you have been an active editor on the List of wealthiest charitable foundations article, and I'm curious if your interest in non-profits might extend to reviewing a new draft for a foundation that doesn't have a Wikipedia article yet? I'm the Director of Communications for Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, which is one of the largest charitable foundations based on endowment and is the largest health-focused foundation for New York State. I think that the foundation meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines so I've submitted a draft for review. Unfortunately, there is such a backlog at Articles for Creation that I believe my draft might not be reviewed by an editor there for several months. Would you be interested in reviewing the draft article? Bvar on Wiki (talk) 17:12, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

"This is a encyclopedia"
[edit]Your edit summary here pointing out that that "this is a encyclopedia" [sic] seeks to justify adding the wikilinks "ship" and "boat" to an article. This particular encyclopaedia does not require simple, obvious words to be linked. The policy is here.--AntientNestor (talk) 14:43, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
