Hello! I remembered that you were an Administrator that helped me once on a wiki article. I have come to ask you something important. The Albert Digaev article has been repeatedly vandalized yesterday, and Albert himself has asked that it be removed entirely due to security reasons, and he is considering notifying the FBI to find the person who has vandalized the article. • The first reference is a reliable source and non-trivial. It's an article from a newspaper, not a press release. The second one is admittedly a bit marginal, since it makes reference to the record label in passing in the context of an article about a band on that label. --Eastmain 01:04, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I joined 1.fm 2 years ago as a director of Urban programming, and it is a very fast growing radio network. In the last 18 hours 1.fm has broken a record high for concurent listening traffic. 1.fm is already serving over 1.4 million unique listeners a month, with over 9.1 million tune-ins per month. 1.fm is owned by a major hosting company, EGI Hosting. They invest thousands every year into Ando Media, they are the company that audits the listening statistics. I feel that it is VERY relevant for 1.fm Jamz to have a page on wikipedia, considering the contributions that this station has had on our network. about db-bio

Hello. Thanks for doing some newpage patrol. However, make sure that you do not tag articles such as Edward Carey with {{db-bio}}. The article clearly is supported by sources and while you may think that an Edmonton city councillor is not notable enough to deserve an entry on Wikipedia, the fact is most people around here will disagree with you. The two references given are reliable third-party sources and the article clearly claims some notability for this man. Thanks, Pascal.Tesson 01:20, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Please be careful not to treat WP:BIO as gospel. For one thing, that very same guideline and the beloved "primary notability criterion" also mention the existence of reliable third-party information on the subject. There is also some claim in the article that the guy is of minor importance in the history of Edmonton as a member of the first town council. There's no sense in being too aggressive about speedy deletion of biographies when there's reason to think that the addition was made in good faith. I don't know if you were around when WP:BIO was constructed but the idea behind the note on politicians was to avoid being drowned in political PR and articles serving to drum up support for every minor politician on the planet. This guy has been dead for a hundred years and somebody thought an article on him had some value. So let's give it a shot. You can always send it to WP:AFD but my guess is it will be kept. Like I said, admins like me rely on the work of many newpage patrolers and we're very grateful for the helping hand. But conversely, we also take the time to tell patrollers when they're overstretching the use of the tags so that the whole operation can run as smoothly as possible. Subjecting a good faith editor to the lion pit

As the creator of the Edward Carey article, I followed with interest the exchange between yourself and User:Pascal.Tesson. Obviously, my view of the article is closer to his than it is to yours. However, one thing you said jumped out at me: "I won't AfD it...I wouldn't want to needlessly subject a good faith editor to the lion pit." While I certainly appreciate the intent (and while I am indeed a good faith editor), I actually value the AfD process on articles I create that some editors would interpret as violating WP:N - it provides me with useful guidance such that I may either curtail my activities on comparable articles or proceed with a renewed sense of legitimacy.

Not that I'm necessarily asking you to AfD that or any other one of my articles - that's entirely up to you. I just want to make it clear that, as a good faith editor who believes in Wikipedia's consensus process, I value the lion pit.Sarcasticidealist 07:41, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

Oh, don't worry. An article on a (IMO) very borderline notable city council is something I will let squeak by because... well, it skirts the border.  :-) My CSD was my "Hey, this doesn't match WP:BIO. His removal says "Good enough". I'm all for removing crud, but I can also ignore the letter of the guidelines when it's needed. Edward Carey was just borderline enough that if another uninvolved editor felt it was okay, it was more probably me being a bit overzealous.
