Anon/Troll/Vandal/Blanker
Here is three things he said on the Dickinson High School page: [1] [2] [3] Okay now he did a lot more than that, those are just some things I find objectionable. He is now asking to be unblocked, and trying to make himself look innocent. Here is his talk page: [4] If an administrator is dumb enough to unblock him, I would be very angry. He is a troll, not only that but a vandal, I reported him at the intervention against vandalism, he got blocked and he is asking to be unblocked. As a matter of fact, User:3RRbot got him as a vandal. I remained civil the whole time, but the Anon. did not. Please watch him as of tommorrow, cause that anon/troll/vandal/blanker has crossed the line. I kept reverting him about 10 times, but I think User:Versus22 reverted him once. That anon needs to stop and I am asking you to watch him. Reliable Forevertalk 16:27, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Let me know if he keeps on asking to be unblocked. I'll then protect his talk page so he can't continue. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:00, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also, how do you get rollback rights? Reliable Forevertalk 21:14, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- You apply for 'em! Wikipedia:Requests for rollback is what you're looking for, I think. An administrator like me will grant them spontaneously to you when they see you've been doing a lot of reversion (this is how I got the tools), or you can just request them at the aformentioned place. Rollback is a very dangerous tool, if one is caught misusing it it can be taken away, so be careful! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:49, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Omg, This is stupid. Someone deleted my userpage because of my age??? I am not readding it then. That scared me. I thought someone blocked me! Yeah but atleast that's not the case. yeah but waiting 7 more years just to have a userpage? That's ridiculous! Reliable Forevertalk 13:38, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

- Reliable, he deleted it for your safety. Your userpage was deleted because you are under 18 and you were telling too much information about where you live, what time you go to school, and who you are in general. It was dangerous to your well being. I only wish I had monitored it better. I never saw any of the recent stuff he deleted it for. Please be careful. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:08, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- I think you should know that Wikipedia has found at least one case of a self-proclaimed pedophile looking for young children. Had he seen your userpage (he's banned now), he could have easily found out who you were. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:11, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

(outdent) quick question: How do you get huggle to work? (I downloaded it succesfully but don't know how you get it to work) Reliable Forevertalk 18:18, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Well, WP:HUG and its subpages say that you have to have rollback to use Huggle. So, apply for that, then make sure you are using broadband or faster, not dial-up. You also have to use a Windows OS newer than 2000, which you quite likely do.
- I don't use huggle because believe it or not, my operating system is a bit older than 2000. We vintage PC users are just not supported anymore, I'm afraid. ;-)
- Hope that helped, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC).
- Also, the toolserver seems to be under maintenance so I can't make any verifications, but if you have not made more than 500 edits to the main article space they may not be inclined to give you the tools. I'm just letting you know in case you didn't read WP:RFR yet. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:40, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi Lu. I just ran into seeing West Side Story again and got stuck in time, for both the reasons (a) that I saw it when it was on Broadway in the late 50s and (b) because it reflects a time when I grew up in NYC. *sigh* I think people now miss a lot of subtleties in it which people from that era would understand. Well, Happy Holidays, and congrats on your WP admin-ship. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 20:34, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- It's still playing? Wow. Times like this I wish I were back in NYC.
- Thanks for the congrats! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:37, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oops! Confession: I caught it inadvertantly on PBS WGBH-TV this weekend, and "Annie Hall" came right after it. I was happy but somewhat of a nostalgic basket case glued to the seat. I wish "West Side Story" were playing on Broadway again. Like I said, there were so many period subtleties which took me back. Besides everything, the choreography stunned me yet again. There was at least one person who was in the original Broadway show in the film. I think Chita Rivera played in the Boradway show as Anita, but Rita Moreno played Anita in the film. David Winters (as "Baby John" on Broadway, I think, and as "A-Rab" in the film) was in both. ;) The opening scene was definitely (save for Solipsism) shot on the future site of Lincoln Center just above "Hell's Kitchen" in Manhattan's West Side, of course. Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc (talk) 21:19, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ahh, I had suspected as much. ;-) Way up here though, we don't usually catch B'Way shows on television, at least not that I had seen. Glad you got a taste of WSS nostalgia! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Just a suggestion from the peanut gallery, you might want to speedy the user and talk page, and perhaps prot it. I know you normally don't preemptively prot pages, but he's pretty abusive. Yngvarr (t) (c) 22:13, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Rollback tools
I highly doubt they would give rollback tools and rights to somebody under 13. They say admins/sysops/bereaucrats/rollbackers (etc) should be 18 and up (and I always mispell 'bereaucrat' [including this time] so I can't become one XD .) and plus they say admins should be 18 and up but the article says another thing: [[6]] Anyways I don't think they'd give tools to people under 13 (such as I) .
Oh and plus I invented a smiley. I don't get the expression, but it's funny: XF Reliable Forevertalk 13:06, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like someone biting their lip in effort to prevent laughter. Hahaha. That's just me, though.
- Don't lose hope, RF. It's important to keep in mind that consensus can change. In fact, before this year, quite a few under-18-ers were nominated and succeeded. Anonymous Dissident is probably the most popular example, and was 11 or 12 when promoted. All it takes is a little patience and understanding, I think. RfA !voters are always looking for that in a candidate, but it is especially important to see in one who's declared they are under 13 because kids are expected to be immature and unintelligent. Best to prove them wrong, eh? And besides, what's wrong with waiting another year or so?
- Rollback is a part of the administrator tools, but generally they grant it to anyone that meets the qualifications. It's not like RfA in that no one is voting for you to have it; you simply request it and an admin will decide whether or not to promote you. We don't bite! You will probably get the upgrade if you have at least 500 mainspace edits and demonstate a good knowledge of good-faith versus bad-faith edits. I'll train you in that area, if you'd like.
- L337p4wn, whom I think you had met, has rollback and is about 14. All you have to do is make sure you're providing everything they want and you will get it in no time.
- And it's spelled bureaucrat, for future reference. :-) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:53, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Haha okay about the bureaucrat spelling problem XD . As for the edit thing I made exactly 1,166 edits to Wikipedia (discluding userpage edits) . As for the smiley, lol. Reliable Forevertalk 20:34, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- interiot's tool indicates that you have much less than 500 edits to the mainspace, so you're going to have to get that up. Also, more than a third of your user talk edits are to my talk page. The majority of your edits are either to your userpage, or involve vandalism reversion in the mainspace. So, try to edit more broadly and make bigger edits to articles. Admins love to see that, not only in a rollback candidate, but also an RfA nominee. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:43, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Oh and was there ever admins that abused there power of being an admin? Reliable Forevertalk 20:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Myriad. Most of them lose their powers as per Wikipedia:Desysop. I would show you the list of all the admins who have, but its exact location escapes me. I think the list is linked in the said Wikipedia: page. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:58, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

User:Wd3000
Hey Mizu. I blanked both his talk page and userpage because he is indefinitely blocked. He needs an indefinitely blocked template on his userpage (or banned) because he won't ever be editing again and a redirect from his talk page to his userpage because he cannot edit his talk page (says this in his block [7] ) Thanks. Reliable Forevertalk 19:45, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Next time don't blank his page, page-blanking should almost never be done, except in courtesy blanks. I'll add the templates. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:55, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Happy New Year! | ||
Hey there, Coralmizu! Happy new Gregorian year. All the best for the new year, both towards you and your family and friends too. I know that I am the only person lonely enough to be running this thing as the new year is ushered in, but meh, what are you going to do. I like to keep my templated messages in a satisfactorily melancholy tone. ;)
Congratulations to Coren, Wizardman, Vassyana, Carcharoth, Jayvdb, Casliber, Risker, Roger Davies, Cool Hand Luke and Rlevse, who were all appointed to the Arbitration Committee after the ArbCom elections. I am sure I am but a voice of many when I say I trust the aforementioned users to improve the committee, each in their own way, as listed within their respective election statements. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to update the 2009 article, heh. Best wishes, neuro(talk) 00:52, 1 January 2009 (UTC) |

"Page does not meet criteria" [for speedy deletion): - LOOK AT A MAP!!!. The page is some kind of collegiate joke and has NO basis in reality. An AFD is going to pass, you're asking for other editors to spend time on something that just doesn't bloody exist. If I made an article for Notting Hill Gate Canyon, a gorge which runs from Hyde Park to the Ladbroke Grove Flyover, or the Croydon Mountains, a mountain range spanning the south bank of the Thames, it would be speedily deleted; that we have to prove the Leagurian Mountains don't exist is just asinine. Thanks for wsating out time; that's the point of the prankster who created the article, don't you get it????Skookum1 (talk) 12:53, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- I placed this article for speedy deletion because I know it is not true and not a real name for a mountain range. According to WP:CSD#G3, blatant hoaxes do qualify under this criterion and says it rather plainly. Black Tusk (talk) 22:04, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- Skookum, please calm down.
- As for you, Black Tusk, blatant hoaxes do but not just any falsification. An article that reads, "Ronald McDonald is a transman and professional entreprenuer and world-renowned philanthropist born in Saskatchewan. He also took over the world in the year 1193." or any other article that is obviously false falls under this category. An article about a mountain range that one must look up on google to discover that it is a hoax does not. Nevertheless, the article is deleted now, so there is no point in arguing over the matter. Have a nice day, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 02:46, 4 January 2009 (UTC).
- Um, I wasn't arguing. I added the google link to show that it was obviously false. If it wasn't then there would have been something else other than Wikipedia, given the large size of the mountain range. Black Tusk (talk) 06:06, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

One time here on Wikipedia, some IP address vandalized an article with an edit summary of "Fixed typo" and It turned out they blanked the page with "NO! DON'T READ THIS! DON'T EVEN THINK OF THIS! WHO WOULD LOOK THIS UP IN THE FIRST PLACE?" and the next day, it wasn't reverted so they added: "ADMINS ARE GUILTY OF BEING SLOW" and (s)he also added a speedy deletion tag on it. Finally an admin saw the Requests for Speedy deletion category and reverted AND blocked the anon Thus ending another Wikisode of WikiDrama. LOL that was so funny. I wish there was some place on Wikipedia where you could post funny stuff that anons said. Reliable Forevertalk 20:05, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- On your userpage you can. A lot of editors do it, including myself. See my section of miscellaneous WikiLaughs. I think at one point User:Xenocidic also had such a collection. Keep the laughs coming, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:26, 4 January 2009 (UTC).
- Omg, someone reverted something I just capitalized because it needs to be capitalized. IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH CORRECT CAPITALIZATION????? (Well on SOME sites they act like it's vandalism depending on what you capitalize and that equals a block, I know cause I got blocked for capitalizing things that needed to be capitalized!! .) I just cleaned up a little bit of talk page discussion by anons that was stupid. Which an anon wrote vandalism on the top of the page and I reverted it and now they are reverting me? Problem...
Okay take a look at User:Idiotbastard. His username includes a curseword, bastard , and he says he has an account as User:Crakkpot. And on Crakkpot's userpage, he states that User:Kodak42 is his friend from school and that he drinks beer with him. on User:Kodak42's userpage he just claims that User:Crakkpot is his friend. Please take a look at these three users, They are active, and they need a ban or a block. Thanks. Reliable Forevertalk 18:56, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- ?_? Reliable Forevertalk 21:21, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Those two are fine. Idiotbastard apparently intended to change his username but didn't merge or redirect his old user page, so I'll certainly have to look into that there. But, besides that, I think it's okay. Some things they say on their userpages are a bit cynical, but they are in college and presumably legal drinking age, so to say that they drink together isn't necessarily a threat to Wikipedia. They seem to be editing constructively, so there is no harm done by them. What did you see (other than the username and the alcohol reference) that appeared to be bad? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:25, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Mainly their usernames. And plus, Kodak is a company. Reliable Forevertalk 21:28, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- There's nothing wrong with having a company name, per se, as long as they are not promoting it with their edits and the username itself isn't promotional (like, say, User:Kodak is the best company ever). Find anything else, by chance? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:30, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

There are definintely some grey areas when it comes to usernames. In fact, there is a long-time administrator named 'Bongwarrior' (in reference to bong, a tool used for smoking marijuana). As long as it's not directly inflammatory or inappropriate, it usually does fine although people may ask about it. I initially thought he was a vandal, too, before I looked into his contribs intently. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:35, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Are administrators the only ones who can put templates in user space (ie Sockpuppet templates or Banned templates)? (and my keyboard is messed up!) Reliable Forevertalk 21:40, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, anyone who is in good standing can add them, so long as they are accurate. I deleted User:Idiotbastard since he is not active. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:43, 5 January 2009 (UTC
Sockpuppet templates
I added a sockpuppet template to user:Doorgeath because he had just had a template on both his userpage and talk page that said nothing of him getting banned so I redirected his talk page to his userpage and removed the template and replaced it with a sockpuppet template See his userpage to see what I mean Reliable Forevertalk 21:50, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not bad at all. Good job. Although I'm On Base was blocked indefinitely, not banned. Did I teach you the difference? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:09, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- No what is the difference? Reliable Forevertalk 22:13, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Quite a difference, there. A block is a preventative measure used to protect Wikipedia from danger by a user, like vandalism, or trolling, or 3RR. As you know, it can either be temporary, or indefinite depending on severity. When blocked, a user cannot edit anything but (usually) their own talk pages.

- A 'ban is a quite rare action. Only three categories of users can ban:
- The Founder
- The Arbitration Committee
- The Wikipedia community as a whole, when consensus shows that we all want them out of here for good.
- A 'ban is a quite rare action. Only three categories of users can ban:
- Bans are usually indefinite. I've never heard of a temporary ban put into effect, but they are possible. They usually only happen in extreme circumstances when a huge controversy arises and it has to be brought up with the Arbcom (or Jimbo, or the community through an RfC). A ban is a social concept, however. You are still able to edit when banned (but of course, you are not allowed to) unless a block is added to enforce the ban, which is often done. Bans are pretty serious—any edits made by a banned user or a sock of a banned user should be immediately reverted or deleted.
- So, put simply, a block is a technical measure for stopping harm to Wikipedia/the community. A ban is a social barring from editing rights which is put into effect by the Arbcom, Jimbo, or the community. That help? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yes btw why do vandals vandalize wikipedia if they know its going to get reverted in a second? Reliable Forevertalk 22:34, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Mainly because of the horrendous wrath of Stephen Colbert (character). And, just because they want to have a moment of fun. It's a world full of very strange and silly people out there, indeed. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:38, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- At the UAA, the editors are having problems with someone's username, 熊熊熊熊熊 , and they been discussing it for about 10 hours now, maybe you should see it? Reliable Forevertalk 22:48, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) I removed it, since it's over and it seems we've decided unless they stir up trouble we should ignore it. They have not even been editing. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:07, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's strange how they been discussing it since morning. Anyways, I can't read Japanese script, maybe only at a really really beginner level. And plus for some reason the kana/kanji script looks like boxes instead of what it's supposed to look like making it impossible for me to even get a thought of what it means. Reliable Forevertalk 23:11, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yep. That's the annoying phenomenon known as mojibake. You probably don't have the 'Jap render support' tool (also known as IME) that allows you to see the characters. But, you should still be able to select the boxes by dragging your mouse over them; after that, place them in an empty field, such as the Wikipedia search box. It should show the characters as if you had the rendering tool. Did that work? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:15, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- nope, still boxes. Reliable Forevertalk 23:20, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Darn. Well, there's always microsoft.com. They have free Japanese/simplified Han Chinese IME supports that download fairly quickly. But that's if your parents allow you to. Depending on what your operating system/preferences are, you may see garbage characters or boxes when I enter this Japanese text: リライアボ フレヴァ (Reliable Forever). What do you see? Are they still boxes, or are they characters like ç@ã&Ó@$? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:25, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- boxes. Reliable Forevertalk 23:28, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Ah. Well, worth trying. I think you'll have to download the IME from microsoft or just deal with the empty boxes, then. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Evil,Evil boxes! Anyways, Take a look at Talk:Emoticon. Vandals are writing stupid nonsense on there that is not about improving the emoticon article. The talk page needs clean-up badly and I removed most nonsense, but will you please consider cleaning up that talk page? Reliable Forevertalk 23:35, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- M'Kay. Most of it is somewhat on-topic, but with little sprinkles of spam and general randomness. Would you do us all a big favor and keep watch there to make sure no more general discussion occurs? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 23:47, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

culturedeluxe
Hi, I appreciate your thoughts that the culturedeluxe article I posted was 'blatant advertisting' but this was not the purpose of the article. Ask yourself whether you would have deleted the article if I hadn't logged in (my username being culturedeluxe too) and only my IP address were there thus giving no quick correlation between the two. At no point do I claim the site is the best out there, I simply wanted our site to appear on here as so many others of the same size and stature do. This wasn't spam and not intended to be. There are independent articles linking to the Culturedeluxe stub and its embarrassing to see this come up in red when other wikipedia users clearly feel the site is well known enough to be on here.
I think this is fair - the article was unambiguous, informative and useful.
Cheers,

- By creating a username that is similar to the name of the article, you make it apparent that you have a conflict of interest, which is strongly discouraged. I recognise your concerns about this, and if you feel the article should be here, you can request the article be created at WP:RA. Or, if you are entirely unaffiliated with the website, you may re-create it (I would still reccomend using a different account), as long as you keep in mind our policy on neutrality. I also think you should review (or take a look at, if you haven't before) the criteria for speedy deletion. Your article, as it was when I deleted it, did meet the G11 criterion because of the wording. Thank you for remaining civil here, I can understand your frustration. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 16:10, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
I appreciate that, thanks. It is somewhat irritating though! I will request it be created independently. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Culturedeluxe (talk • contribs) 18:56, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

I see you got your first barnstar. Wish I had a barnstar... Anyways, congratulations! :D Reliable Forevertalk 17:35, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Lol, that hint left a dent in the floor when it landed! Keep helping out as you've been doing with your anti-vandalism patrol and article cleanup, and you'll earn one soon enough. I think you've come a long way since you first signed up, and you're making great progress (and Mizu is a pretty good mentor ;) EyeSerenetalk 18:07, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, methinks it did. :-) Mizu has her ideas. (And thanks, ES. Your stalking never fails!) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 04:19, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Unblock request of Whitestein
Hello Mizu onna sango15. Whitestein (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), whom you have blocked, is requesting to be unblocked. The request for unblock is on hold while waiting for a comment from you. Regards, Sandstein 20:55, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Anon problems.
[9]. I have warned him, he goes and posts a weird pointless comment on my talk page, then I post a section telling him to remain civil, then an administrator comes in and tells him to stop adding nonsense to talk pages, The anon comes on and posts something on my talk page that seems like he mocked me then he goes to the admin's page saying "Uh I am not the problem you are". Please see what you can do. Note that if you post something on his talk page, he will come to your talk page. Just check this anon IP out cause if you ask me I think he's asking for a block. Reliable Forevertalk 23:04, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, he's being really silly. I gave him his last warning, so if he does any more he'll get a nice block. Let's both keep a close watch. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 04:45, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- The only reason I really think he's asking for a block is because how he talked to an administrator with this edit:
