Speedy deletion declined: Auslogics Disk Defrag
Hello TheMesquito, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Auslogics Disk Defrag, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Kept at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Auslogics Disk Defrag (3rd nomination). Another AfD may be in order. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 10:51, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

It was not a mistake, but an item that needed that edit. I am an employee at the San Antonio Express-News. Robert Rivard is not the editor of the San Antonio Express-News, and hasn't been for nearly 2 years now.

Hello, I'm TheMesquito. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Angie Goff, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. mesquito, why do you feel i am wrong ? did you review the edits ?
Here is proof. I edited this article. Another person added the information and it is sourced. neutralhomer keeps deleting it. If you look at the edit history, since last year neutralhomer has been doing this. Neutralhomer said it removed information per request, request from ? Eposty restored the information. Neutralhomer was told to discuss on article's discussion page but has not done so. I posted about my edits on the discussion page. neutralhomer deleted it, and then threatened me that I will be blocked. I returned my post on the discussion page, neutralhomer deleted it again for the second time. Why delete my post on the article discussion page when that is the right way to use wikip to reach consensus. I think neutralhomer needs to be blocked for disruption. neutralhomer is deleting valid sourced information. neutralhomer is deleting discussions on the article take page.172.243.128.84 (talk) 22:07, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
tollywood change
I am sorry.. i did forget to leave description. was trying to update info on tollywood which is valid. tollywood is the second largest film industry in india after bollywood. i was just searching for it and found that and updated.
- It is a disambiguation page should not contain any information just what the the word could refer to when searched (in the case of words that mean many different things see WP:D for more infomation TheMesquito (talk) 23:57, 27 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I attempted to edit the page "Joel Selwood" in order to make the page readable. I removed content not because I'm a vandal but because the page needs editing. The current page is ridiculously convoluted, full of unnecessary padding, written more in the style of a fan club shrine than as an objective encyclopaedic page. I would appreciate if you could read the restored page and then compare it with my final edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.161.41.19 (talk) 19:39, 3 April 2014 (UTC)

MOBA and Ferret
No, it wasn't civil, I entirely agree. I'm writing a games design document, I edit the MOBA page with a better written explanation of a MOBA and he comes along and reverts the changes on the basis, if you can believe it, that it lacked sources, even though both the former and the latter were effectively the same content. The word I used wasn't civil, I grant you, but it was highly accurate for a petty reversion like that. Someone wants to cause me grief, I'll give them some in return, thank you so very much. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.218.239.102 (talk) 02:38, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Recent revert on Sabyasachi Panda
Hi TheMesquito
It is good to learn about your immediate response and efforts in general. I would like to bring to your notice that the fact about "Sabyasachi Panda" joining the mentioned political party and it inviting her relies on some random articles online, most likely baseless and fake. There are no such reports on the more reliable news channels and websites. Anyway it would be helpful and constructive if you could at least put a message questioning the article's genuineness. Thanks 164.107.165.43 (talk) 01:01, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
The Fed edits
Hello TheMesquito,
I admire your speed! You almost instantaneously reverted the changes I made to The Fed page. However, I disagree with your contention that my changes were not constructive. Quite the contrary: I personally know most of the Fed alumni, and I can vouch that none are notable. You should actually commend me for improving the page of an organization that I belonged to for several years, and for which I feel deep affection!
You are completely correct that wiki vandalism is obnoxious and detrimental, but I believe you are not in full possession of the facts in this particular case.
Sincerely,

Why did you relist this? BMK (talk) 01:47, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
- WP:RELIST says:
- However, if at the end of the initial seven-day period, the discussion has only a few participants (including the nominator), and/or it seems to be lacking arguments based on policy, it may be appropriate for the closer to relist it, to solicit further discussion to determine consensus. A relisted discussion may be closed once consensus is determined without necessarily waiting a further seven days.
That said, relisting should not be a substitute for a "no consensus" closure. If the closer feels there has been substantive debate, disparate opinions supported by policy have been expressed, and consensus has not been achieved, a no-consensus close may be preferable.

A relisted discussion may be closed once consensus is determined without necessarily waiting a further seven days.
- This AfD does not seem to meet the criteria for relisting. The majority of arguments on both sides were based on policy, and there was significant participation and considerable discussion between them. What was your rationale for relisting it? BMK (talk) 01:53, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi
I tried to upload a pic to a page
It was declined and the notice went to my spam box...just found it now
The reason given was that the file appeared to be copyrighted...actually it is my photo (so, made by me) and I don´t recall copyrighting it (but may have accidentally...who knows?)
Some info here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Deanimator#Your_request_at_Files_for_upload
How do I procede?...something about changing a line which is seriously challenging my literacy level.
Hope we can sort it out.

- @Deanimator: @46.115.146.253: It was denied because, while under a Creative Commons license, it contains non-commercial (nc) or no-derivatives (nd), and we can't upload the picture if it contains that. It needs to be {{cc-by-2.0}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.0}} for us to upload it. If you want it to be uploaded, please change the about page and remove the non-commercial (nc) or no-derivatives (nd). If you want more info about licenses, I would also ask @Armbrust: about it, he has been working in FFU much longer than me. TheMesquitobuzz 19:07, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Banglapedia is an encyclopedia
This refers to your recent evaluation of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Varman dynasty of bengal. The draft article may be gone by the time you read this, since I determined that it was a copyvio of an article from Banglapedia cited as a reference in the article. Banglapedia appears to be a reliable source as "an intellectual output of over 1450 scholars" and with no obvious provision for edits by users. If the draft article was not a copyvio, I would probably have accepted it. Anyway, thank you for looking at the article as quickly as you did. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 03:09, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Copyright checks when performing AfC reviews
Hello CodeLyoko. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.
The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.
If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)
If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.
Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.
I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).
