Please look at the page I created, Hematophagia. I noticed tonight that I didn't categorize it, so Alaibot put a stub tag on it and I saw it on my watchlist. In the interest of saving space and horrendous amounts of typing trying to explain, I hope that by looking at the page, you will see my issue.

Based on search results from [1] , it appears that Hematophagia is the more common spelling, but all the content is at Hematophagy with many incomming links. Also, a redirect would prevent search resolution of the term 'hematophagia' contained within the 'see also' page I noted.

I looked at WP:R and am confused. I hope you can help with the information I have provided.

I think it's important to include the various spellings to help users who may not use the spelling on the pages already created in wikipedia (eg Pica (disorder)#examples, all of which could potentially fall under this issue; or Haematophagy/Haematophagia, etc...).

I'm over my head. Thanks again. SteinAlive | | 07:23, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

About the Constitution Party's Wikipedia Area

Hello, I recently edited the article on the Constitution Party. All I was doing was adding more accuracy to the page about the party. Some areas, I felt were misleading and some were incomplete so I filled them in and corrected the inaccurate areas. I was not advertising, I was simply putting what the party believed by adding the Seven Principles of the Constitution Party and by further clarifing our stances on Abortion, Guns and Immigration. Removing the 2006 Dissaffiliation Group section was done because it seemed as an atempt to make the party look bad (Advertising against the CP). I simply, as a member and director of the Party, was attempting to make the page more reliable and more accurate.

Possible problem on the Republican Party page

User:Jtpaladin made some slightly inflammatory partisan comments on the Republican Party (United States) talk page, followed by changing all the political positions in the infobox to Center and Center Right. Rather contrary to the extensive discussion before. I'd like your input as well, though I've made my case and reverted the changes on the talk page already, to resolve something that has the potential to turn into a rather nasty edit war.--Primal Chaos 16:10, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Conservatism In the United States

Hey, just to say I removed certainly examples from the area 'outside the USA' of Conservatism in the United States because they arent particularly accurate. The CDU, for example, are aligned with Christian Democracy, whilst the British Conservative Party, certainly recently, is to the left of what would be described as Conservatism in the United States. I havent changed it again, waiting for your opinion on the matter.

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:13, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Unusual Adoption Request

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!

FairTax

Cielomobile, the FairTax article is being challanged for no criticism section. They've been adding a NPOV tag, without addressing any particular issue. Questioned the FAC process as BS and seem to be trying to nominate it for FAR. I know we haven't always agreed but I think we've worked well together to resolve issues. Anyway, hope you may be able to help me gain some control as this article certainly falls under a controversal topic and gets its share of visitors. As I'm sure you know, these articles always have people that are unhappy in one way or another. Thanks, Morphh (talk) 0:46, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the comments. Hope your vacation was great. My wikistress level this week has been at the max, so I probably need to take a nice break myself. :-) Morphh (talk) 14:34, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to let you know that Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University release several FairTax studies on their site recently. I haven't read them yet so I couldn't give you any idea on what they say.. but here they are if you want to take a look. It doesn't appear that Kotlikoff (Boston University) worked with them on any of these.

President Reagan

Hi, I've seen some nice things said about you concerning your help with the FairTax article, in spite of your not really being for the FT. Recently, there've been a few fireworks in the Reagan talk page[2]. Though it has recently attained FA status, I'm not sure the fireworks are over. If you had a minute sometime to take a look, maybe you could strategically inject a bit of sanity into it. I had suggested to SandyGeorgia that maybe what we need is someone who is apolitical, to which she replied, "Do you know where to find such a beast?" :-)))) Brian Pearson 01:51, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks, it's been a bit emotional. Right now, there seems to be nothing going on, but I'm not sure it will hold. Brian Pearson 23:47, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

I'm sorry--I haven't been signed into the Wiki for awhile but I wanted to accept your offer of adoption. Even though I don't have much time now (last semester of college), I want to help where I can when I can, and I would like to learn what I'm doing before I try! :) Thanks -- Teh fontmaster —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teh fontmaster (talkcontribs) 18:12, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:T-Bone Walker album cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:T-Bone Walker album cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:02, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Improper word usage in your Republican Party comments

In your comments about editing the Republican Party page, specifically ideology, you had as part of your explanination "Also, I'm removing Libertarianism.............because libertarianism hardly jives with........."

In "jive" you have the wrong word. The word you want is "jibe", which means "to be in harmony, agreement, etc." (Webster's).

"Jive", on the other hand, means "the jargon of jazz musicians and devotees" or"to play jazz".(Webster's) It has also had the meaning "to dance to jazz type music" (see the book "To Sir, With Love" where Sir enters a room where English teenagers are dancing to recorded music in the immediate post WWII era and one of them gestures toward the dancers and asks him "Do you jive?"). The word has also come to mean "to lie to" in the US black community as "Are you jiving me?" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.237.191.145 (talk) 17:24, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

2 help points

Sorry to write again - I'm stuck on two things:

firstly how to use a name as a link rather than the little number links.

And secondly why can't I find the page in the google search? At the moment I can only find the page by searching through the wikipedia site.

Many Thanks

Adding pictures

Hi, I need some help on writing my first article. I've edited a lot but never written an entire article from scratch. I noticed in the Fisher-Price article that the Adventure People were highlighted in red, so I decided to write the article myself. Here is what I have: Adventure People. I would like to add some pictures but do not know how to get pictures onto the Wiki. Help, please!! ^_^ --Teh fontmaster (talk) 18:20, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

(The Sound of Cultural References) I hate to bother you, but

Greetings Cielomobile. You appear on top of your editing game and I was praying you might look at something (Please): The Sound of Music & The Sound of Music (film) share the same Cultural references (ie In popular culture). It more than appears the references refer to the film rather than the show. I am led to believe the section for the musical should be deleted. What do you think? Please also see the Talk:The Sound of Music. Thank you for your kindness and time. Please tell me if I am wrong. Master Redyva

Flagging Murray Dry for further review

Hello, Cielomobile … I recently encountered the article about Murray Dry and in my opinion, it either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Biographies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it violates a copyright.

I am considering tagging Murray Dry (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for deletion according to the Deletion policy … I do not have time to examine the article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

I have created this initial entry on your Talk page because you are either the original author of the article, or else a recent contributor to it; I will leave more detailed information regarding my specific concerns about the article on its Discussion page … please respond either there or on this Talk page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.

Be sure to read Ownership of articles, and remember that Some Other Editors (including at least one administrator) may not share your opinion about the notability of the article's subject.

I do not mean to imply that your contribution is unappreciated … perhaps you should read Your first article … and remember, there was a time when I knew less about how Wikipedia works than you know right now. — triwbe (talk) 10:55, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

New Article?

Hi,

You posted this message on my talk page.

"Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Unfortunately, an article you recently created, Blame (artist), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do and please read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. -- Cielomobile"

On March 22, 2007.

There are a few things that don't make sense to me.

First, you are welcoming me, and pointing me towards introductory material, I've been editing articles sense April 14, 2004, almost 2 years longer than you. I think this is presumptuous and condescending and feel slightly upset.

Second, the article in question was created sometime in 2004, so I am uncertain how 3 years later it is still considered a new article. On what timescale are we defining new on? Can you point me to a reference that defines new in a Wikipedia context?

Third, you have made mention that it did not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new articles, but fail to mention which ones. This information would be nice to know so that in the future if I wish to recreate the article I can more closely adhere to these standards.

Thanks, ZaQ (talk) 08:33, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

PS. I know this is old news. I've been gone for awhile.

Thanks for the reply. I understand how templates can be used for a speedy delivery of redundant or tedious messages. This can serve as a example of how they can also be impersonal and misleading.
Thanks for the notability article. Under the "Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels" criterion this artist would be considered notable. Do you know if it is possible to look up the content of articles that have been deleted?
Thanks
