Problem of universals
Hey there. No problem - I actually didn't think it was too bad, but I added the tag because people were asking for it. In truth, the tag just helps to attract those who at least ostensibly know about the subject, especially about more recent or obscure developments. Lucidish 17:17, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
I would like to bring to your attention that a request for comment on User:Woggly's conduct has been filed. Bonnieisrael 17:54, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Ancap
Thanks, Christofurio. I actually came to left-anarchism from a basically libertarian-conservative position, so it's not as much of a stretch for me as you might think. Bacchiad 04:17, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Asbestos and the Law
Your comments on the talk page were interesting! I responded to them, and had to put on my 'torts' and 'criminal law' hat to do so. Reminded me of 1L. It is a worthy discussion, and I hope I cleared up some misunderstanding that I think you may have had. It is a common misunderstanding, and more than one law student has been suckered into confusion on the issue of causation. This begs for more discussion, on joint and several liability but those are policy discussions not particularly germane to this article. Also, I have mixed feelings about joint and several liability. ON the one hand, it doesn't seem entirely fair. On the other hand, the underlying policy considerations are valid -- especially in some circumstances. So anyway, this isn't an article on tort reform, but a simpler discussion on what the regulation and law is about asbestos. Notwithstanding the controversy about asbestos pleural plaques, most of the issues are pretty clear cut. Certainly mesothelioma is and to only a slightly lesser degree, asbestosis. The litigation on asbestos has been all over the map, which is unfortunate. People like my father who died of mesothelioma 5 months after diagnosis, received almost nothing, because my mother didn't have the heart and will to pursue it. On the other hand, some who had benign pleural plaques have received large settlements. I even see the reasoning for wanting to 'beat' the statute of limiations, on the theory one could later become ill. However, some people with pleural plaques never do become ill. I think the ABA has an excellent suggestion for this dilemma (read the ABA section in the article) - it would not allow suits until a person became ill. But then the statute of limitations would also not begin running until the person became actually ill, and not when they received lung xrays showing pleural plaques. This would resolve the problem of clogging the courts and a windfall for those still healthy, while at the same time not cutting off the rights of those who later become seriously ill.jgwlaw 09:47, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Have you been banned or something? It seems to me you formerly had a user page, but it has disappeared. Anyway, there is news on the issues you raise here. A law firm named Brayton Purcell, has recently been disciplined by a judge in Ohio, for helping its clients commit rather blatant fraud in such matters. The judge, Harry Hanna, has been overseeing a lawsuit on the claim that Lorillard Tobacco's cigarettes caused the mesothelioma that killed Harry Kananian. He discovered that Brayton Purcell and other firms have previously filed other claims connected with the death of Harry Kananian, claiming that he developed the same fatal illness from a variety of different sources. Furtherm Brayton Purcell and its lead attorney on the case, Christopher Andreas, seem to have lied to cover up the extent of their double and triple dipping. --Christofurio 14:15, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Trading shares and bonds as a hallmark of capitalism
Hi Christofurio. On Talk:Capitalism you mentioned somewhere that you believed the selling of shares and bonds on markets was one of the key defining elements of capitalism. I don't believe this to be the case. Please see my comment on Talk:Capitalism and do not hesitate to counter-comment it. Cheers! Luis rib 17:46, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Indonesia
Hey there, I'm a fellow Indonesian. I was thinking probably we could make a well-establish WikiProject Indonesia, apart from the regional notice board. It saddens me that even the Indonesia article is not a featured article. What do you think about that? Oh, have you checked the new Portal:Indonesia? Looking forward to your reply. Take care and cheers -- Imoeng 11:07, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- Your reference to yourself as a "fellow Indonesian" seems to imply that you think I'm of that nationality. I'm delighted at the mistake, but, alas, I can claim no such honor. I'm interested in the 1997-98 currency crises, and have done some editing in Indonesia-related articles largely as a result of that interest. Good luck with your endeavors. --Christofurio 00:33, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Weiss bio citation issues and sock puppet question
I don't have a problem with information in the Gary Weiss article coming from his own personal blog. It's just that each assertion, or at least paragraph, in the entry needs to have an inline citation to some reference that people can look at in an attempt to verify what's written in the article. So, it's not the source of the information I have issue with, it's just that the sources aren't cited in the article. Once that's done, the [citation needed] tags can be removed. Cla68 01:12, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- I apologize for reacting so warily and contrarily when you wrote to me on my talk page. I guess I was in a defensive mood because of the strong reactions of other editors to the issues with the article. I don't accuse you of being a sock puppet. Cla68 03:58, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
asbestos insider-trading
I don't subscribe to the WSJ, and had not seen this - I have not been able to find anything yet on this, that is very recent (since last Jan)... can you get the article from yesterday?Jance 00:45, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- As I replied to your e-mail, the story I referenced was on the front page Friday. A front-page WSJ story is almost by definition notable, so I think it should definitely be part of "asbestos and the law." You should be able to get it at your nearest public library. --Christofurio 16:08, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Finance Project
I saw that you had contributed to some finance article, I have been doing a lot of work on the structured finance end of wikipedia structured finance, asset-backed securities securitization etc. I am interested in creating a Finance portal to start organizing the financial links in wikipedia. There is one user so far who has also been very active who is going to start work on this but were looking for some more. Would you be interested?

Proposed merge of Independent evidence for Apollo Moon landings into Apollo Moon Landing Hoax Accusations
This is just to let you know that there is a merge proposal being considered at Independent evidence for Apollo Moon landings. Given that you participated in the AfD debate about this article, you might be interested in leaving your opinion concerning this merge on the talk page. Lunokhod 16:23, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Maria Cristina Kiehr, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. FrozenPurpleCube 02:17, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Well, if you add references it'll make the article a lot better, and I would suggest a look at WP:MUSIC to see which of the criteria she can meet. FrozenPurpleCube 21:27, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Don't tell me, add it to the article. Me, I don't care about her, or what she does. I just came across it as a random article. It's up to you to provide the information, not me to know it. FrozenPurpleCube 03:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
For Business and Economics Wikiproject persons URGENT Please help
The xxxxx page, (International Services Trade Information Agency, which focuses on globalization data, a new agency in Geneva, Switzerland, which is part of the Business and Economics Wikiproject topics is up for deletion because some administrator wanted to puruse a personal vendetta. Now they are calling it a conflict of interest, because I, as the Executive Director of this agency, wrote the page. There isn't anyone who can write this better than me. Even my staff aren't really that good at English. Please, can someone help back me up here? The page is going to be deleted by people who don't know anything about globalization statistics. It was originally marked for deletion by a man who I had an argument with about a human rights site.
I'm sorry to bother you, but I need people to act fast, please. Thanks. RTV-Right to Vanish 14:20, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
