Bot didn't add icon

Hey there, the bot didn't add {{Good article}} to "Empire of Death" (Doctor Who episode). I added it manually per the instructions at WP:GAN/I#PASS so it's been solved as of now, but I wasn't sure if it was something that needed brought up. Thanks, TheDoctorWho (talk) 05:54, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

I'm baffled by this; normally the bot posts an edit summary mentioning pass or fail, but in this case the nomination was silently removed from GAN. I will put this on my list of issues to follow up on. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 01:29, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

ChristieBot posting on my talk page every 20 minutes

@Mike Christie, for the last 7-8 hours ChristieBot has been posting on my talk page every 20 minutes to notify me that a review has been started for Talk:Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch/GA1. I don't know if it's related to the fact that, a few days ago, the GAN was marked as being "on hold" even though the /GA1 subpage hadn't been created yet. Is this a known bug?

Incidentally, I temporarily put a {{bots}} template on my talk page, which seems to have stopped these talk page posts for now, but I'm concerned that I won't get notifications for other GA reviews if I do this. – Epicgenius (talk) 18:16, 29 September 2024 (UTC)

It looks like there are several independent bugs here, one of which I've fixed. I'm going to remove the transcluded review and do some clean up of the internal errors this has caused and see if that allows a clean run to happen. I'll follow up on your talk page. Bot appears to be down

Bots are restricted from working when the database lag gets high, and that appears to have been the case for several consecutive hours last night. I checked the error messages for the failures and they all complained about max lag. It's possible to get around this by running the code interactively, so it's worth letting me know when you see the bot has stopped. It's also quite possible that the bot has run into a new bug I need to fix so again that's a good reason for leaving me a note. Thanks. Bot not editing WP:GAN

Thanks for the heads up. The problem was caused by a bug in the way it handled GARs; the nominator of Kamloops Airport used"#top" in their signature back in 2013, and when that article was nominated for a GAR yesterday the bot crashed every time it tried to build the GAR section of the page. It's now getting past that point but running into resource issues as the server is sometimes unavailable. I think it should run OK when the resource issues go away but will check again later. Blank spaces above sections

Noticed that Christiebot is not spacing out new sections (eg), making the wikitext a bit denser than it needs to be. Adding a line break before its messages would be appreciated. Best, CMD (talk) 09:02, 30 November 2024 (UTC)
