Mistake?

Careful with Huggle. Apparently you reverted a summary-less revert by anon 174.79.8.25 (talk · contribs). I have a left a summary warning there, and a second level delete warning for 72.95.82.220 (talk · contribs). Cheers - DVdm (talk) 22:38, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes it was a mistake - When I saw my mistake, I tried to revert it with Huggle, but it crashed. Someone else reverted me, but I removed my template warning at the IP talk page. My mistake, but strange that three IP users edited the same article in 2 minutes (one vandalize, one revert and a third reverted me)... Christian75 (talk) 23:14, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
I know the feeling. Exactly the same thing happened to me a few times as well. The 3IP-thing looked a bit strange to me too - let's keep an eye on it. Cheers - DVdm (talk) 08:27, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

orphan tags

Hi Christian75,

You are busy adding orphan tags but please consult Wikipedia:Orphan:

An article is orphaned if fewer than three other articles link to it. However, this is a strict definition of the term and there is still discussion regarding whether to have a more relaxed definition in order to clear the backlog of orphans. Currently our priority is to focus on orphans with NO incoming links at all, and it is recommended to only place the orphan tag if the article has ZERO incoming links from other articles. One or two incoming links may be sufficient as long as they are relevant. V8rik (talk) 19:20, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, what a strange tag with no consensus. I have been on the wp:orphan page when I started to tag the articles but may have missed the recommendation part. It should really be written in the indtroduction of that page. But I will stop adding the orphan tag to articles with more than zero link to the chemistry project. My plan is to remove the tags again by finding links to the articles... Christian75 (talk) 21:09, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Dear Christian75, please reconsider your use of the "orphan" tag. Like most tags that request other editors to do some work, it does not contribute anything to Wikipedia. Even when the tag is deserved, the article with the tag is just as broken as without it. In fact it is worse, because the tag is an ugly blemish and an annoying distraction to the reader; and its insertion hogs the watchlist of other editors. The orphan tag in particular is rarely dserved: even an article with no links is not lost, since it can be found by name or by searching. In fact, several of the articles you have so tagged do *have* links to them. (And please ignore the guideline. Like most WP guidelines, it was written by a handful of editors who wanted to justify their editings. It is NOT a "consensus" in any legitimate sense of the word.) --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 23:59, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
It (wp:orphan) is consensus. If you disagree bring it up at the talk page (wt:orphan). But as V8rik quoted it is recommended to only place the orphan tag if the article has ZERO incoming links from other articles. and the reason: to have a chance to clear the current backlog for orphaned pages. 2) You reverted this edit with the edit summary "It has FIVE links, not orphan!". Not correct. It has only one link from article space, but there is three redirects to the page and two links from user space. Only links from article space counts. Speedy deletion tagging

I see that you tagged Sulaman Reben and Jahitan Sulaman Reben for speedy deletion as nonsense. However, they were not nonsense: they made perfect sense, but were written in Malay. I have, in fact, deleted the articles for other reasons, but it is by no means uncommon for such incorrect speedy deletion nominations to be simply declined without consideration of other possible reasons for deletion. Linear acetylenic carbon forking attribution

Thanks for this! I always forget there's a template for it instead of just edit-history notes. DMacks (talk) 08:34, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

List of postal codes of Paraguay

Hi Christian75. Completely agree with your edit summary on the above. (Don't even get me started on Bus Route listings...) I'll do some research on discussions which may have already occurred around the topic of listings to get a feel for concensus, and maybe take it forward from there... or just keep grimacing every time I come across one if consencus dictates... ;-) Best wishes. ICBUW

If there is any doubt as to the lack of veracity of much of the article on Depleted Uranium, you have the ICBUW, a some-what fake organization that campaigns against DU using any means possible as an "editor" of the page. They have no objectivity whatsoever. Roger - DUStorydashowneratyahoogroupsdotcom 208.106.32.139 (talk) 05:55, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Humble request...

Revision and updating of the Tip-of-the-day collection is underway.

Out-of-date or obsolete tips have been making it through to the Community Portal and main Help page! We must prevent this from happening again.

Please place the following template code on your user or talk page, and check the daily tip for accuracy. It's displayed one day early, to give us time to fix it.

{{totd-tomorrow}}

Please make the corrections yourself if you can. And report the tip at Wikipedia talk:Tip of the day, especially if you don't know what to write.

There's a tip schedule at WP:TOTD in case you feel like proofreading further ahead. If you come across any obsolete tips, please let me know!

Thank you.

Sincerely, The Transhumanist 01:43, 26 July 2011 (UTC)

Kowloon Bus

I've declined your speedy request as there seems to be enough context, and it isn't short. What it is, now that's another matter. I'd suggest prod or AfD. Peridon (talk) 11:58, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the information. I have just prod it. Christian75 18:12, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Re: Talk:Disney Channel (Kazakhstan)

Re your message: I deleted the article. An IP has been trying to create that article and another international Disney channel article for a long time now but there is no evidence that either exists. I have reblocked the IP. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:10, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
