[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages such as Talk:Depth of field are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. - Hello,
- This is about depth of field and a suggestion for improvement of the main page. I am perfectly on topic.
- This is the talk page, what is the problem ? I haven't published in the main page.
- There must be some liberty for the contributors, I am not adding rubbish content, and this is not nice to see his content deleted. Chrisinparis (talk) 00:26, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Your suggestion is about addition of your own original research, which is not something Wikipedia does. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:26, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- But it is correct content !!!. I am not really promoting anything, and this is the talk page.
- It still has not been published though I tried. Not because it was not correct but I have to find the good place where to publish it (not scientific enough). And they are still open for another submission (they say they want more reference).
- Ypu delte good content; And while I understand this must not be published right now in the main page, I find really disappointing that you delete this content.
- The talk page must have some freedom. Chrisinparis (talk) 00:40, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- It's not a matter of whether it's correct or not, we just don't do original research. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:58, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- "It's not a matter of whether it's correct or not" => Well, maybe a bit... And sorry to repeat but this is only in the talk page.
- It is difficult to publish, very difficult. My paper has been rejected after 10 months.
- You decide, I had pushed again my content, will not insist if you delete it again Chrisinparis (talk) 01:02, 19 December 2024 (UTC)

- Ok, I am really disappointed with your decision...
- The policy you refer to does not apply (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:No_original_research): "This policy does not apply to talk pages"
- I think what you did was not necessary, it just adds disappointment. This is your choice. Chrisinparis (talk) 00:57, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm aware the original research policy doesn't apply to talk pages directly, but when you're saying things like
no publication so far but I will appreciate if somebody is interested in writing an article on this topic. Feel free to contact me, thanks
and linking to your own Github, you are straying into the area of promotion. AntiDionysius (talk) 00:59, 19 December 2024 (UTC)- You decide.. Will accept your decision. Chrisinparis (talk) 01:04, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have reduced the content with only the most important part.
- I had finished anyway, nothing to add now.
- If you want to delete it again, do it, I will not insist.
- Regards,
- Chris Chrisinparis (talk) 01:26, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
