Oasis - I have a source that says they sold 100 million worldwide

[edit]

Hi how are you doing today ?. I found two links that say Oasis has passed 100 million sales.. The first I had was from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame website. Oasis were nominated to be inducted this year. On the profile of the band it said they had sold over 100 million records worldwide, of course the link seems dead since the event is over. is there anyway we could have the nominees bios archived by anyone on here ?. I have another source would that be enough to get the band to the 100 million sales mark ?. Regards 92.251.155.97 (talk) 17:34, 12 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I have two sources saying Oasis have sold 100 million records worldwide , would that be enough to upgrade them please ?. Thanks 92.251.155.97 (talk) 01:30, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm doing well. I also hope you're okay. I still have no concise answer as to whether they qualify for an upgrade. I haven't seen all of their sales in available markets yet, plus it appears that we no longer have previous "requirements" for certified sales, so that part is also uncertain. I would like to help you as soon as I can, but unfortunately, I've got very limited time. Once I'm available, I could try. Thanks, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 01:48, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thank you for replying to me. When would you be able to have a look at this for me please ?. I respect you are very busy will I message you in the future please  ?. Thank you 178.167.178.224 (talk) 19:44, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I even would like to constantly update certifications for all of the listed artists. Sadly, this is not going to happen because I don't have the time, plus that is a meticulous/long-consuming labor. I prefer quicker tasks. Regarding Oasis's missing certs, I probably take a look throught the rest of this year. You might try to ask in the list' talk page, or you can also do it by yourself. Regards, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 05:57, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I am new enough here with no experience of doing this before, but I would give it a go of course but I do not know what sites or sources are accepted on here ok ? 92.251.138.124 (talk) 15:46, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You should create an account. I sent you a welcome message with some helpful links. These are link to examples of sources acceptable/unnaceptable in Wikpedia: 1, 2. And those are some guidelines/links helpful for music artists: 1, 2, 3 or 4. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 16:19, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just thoroughly read Cultural impact of Madonna and the article is great! High quality prose, good sources, engaging content. I enjoyed it and it may even be GA quality already. Good work! PHShanghai | they/them (talk) 10:58, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, PHShanghai Good to see you again! Thank you for your words and congratulations for your outstanding work too. I'm glad you have enjoy reading the article, and I'm not sure if it have a near GA-quality; it might have some missing opportunities, both for her criticisms/positive feedbacks, but I tried my best to collect info and condense it. Cheers :D --Apoxyomenus (talk) 04:05, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion

[edit]

Hello, I hope you’re having a good day. I was wondering if I could give my opinion on the changes made recently in the article List of awards and nominations received by Shakira. I personally liked the previous “Honours and Accolades” section and was wondering if you could add some of the honors back such as “Day of Shakira” and the square named after her in Lebanon. Thank you and I hope this wasn’t too lengthy. Wandastorm (talk) 23:00, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Wandastorm:. Thank you for your comments. I didnt include the so-called Spotify's "Day of Shakira" since it seemed to be a tribute rather than a prize/trophy/medal/honorary certificate that was presented to her; I can only compare it with a TV special, like: "Michael Jackson's 24-hour marathon on MTV", or something similar, and perhaps the person who added it compared it to the certificates ("the day of") given in some cities. The same goes with the Grammy Awards exhibition. And I wasn't sure about the square named after in Lebanon. Since it doesn't appear that there were real "awards given", I thought they would all be more appropriate for an inclusion into her cultural impact article under a heading like "Tributes to Shakira"/"Cultural depictions/tributes". I sorted the accolades given by jurisdictions and state/government agencies into the separate table from those of music academics/critic's picks/popular vote awards/organizations (such UNICEF) since I was following examples of FA awards-lists. And if the award was prestigious/unique/non-competitive, I used a different categorization ("Honoree"). Let me know. You are free to change the format, restore, add new items, etc. Cheers! -Apoxyomenus (talk) 02:56, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I hope you're doing well! I've been revising the articles about the discography of the group Menudo on the Portuguese, Spanish, and English Wikipedias. I've found some information about their album sales, but not for all of them. It's really hard to find material about the group. If you remember seeing or finding any information about their sales or chart positions on any website, please let me know so I can include it. I've been using Proquest, Google News, World Radio History, and the Brazilian Digital Library (Hemeroteca Digital Brasileira) for my research. Thanks in advance. Markus WikiEditor (talk) 00:42, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Markus. I also hope you're ok. No problem, I'll do just in case I find something about their sales/charts. Cheers, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 02:24, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
