Overland
[edit]Usually when items are added to disambig pages they are to blue/article links, adding red linked/no article, is usually reverted on the spot. JarrahTree 00:42, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
Refactoring others messages is mostly fine, but take care that it doesnt over reach, new editors with capacity to deal with some things ultimately raises the question of why and how such an editing capacity arise from less than a hundred edits... JarrahTree 00:50, 18 July 2021 (UTC)
Vivian Kerr moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Vivian Kerr, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Please cease moving biographies to full names. I appreciate that it is in good faith, but it is against policy and will take some time to move back... —Brigade Piron (talk) 19:33, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at List of prime ministers of Belgium, you may be blocked from editing. You disregarded my earlier reversion of your edits. If you disagree with my rationale, please explain why this is sensible on the article's talk page. If you do not even add edit summaries when making such changes, it is impossible to have the kind of discussions which ultimately improve the page. —Brigade Piron (talk) 10:39, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
Belgian PM naming
[edit]Further to my earlier message, please read Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). It states that "The "First Name Last Name" format applies to the majority of biographical articles on Wikipedia". WP:MIDDLENAME states that these should only be included where they are usually present in the name as commonly used, eg. George W. Bush. This is emphatically not the case in the articles you moved. If you disagree, please open a proper WP:RM discussion to get a consensus from editors involved before making any such move. Thanks. —Brigade Piron (talk) 20:14, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 28
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Black Dahlia, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Deputy and Assistant. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:52, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
A lengthy welcome
[edit]Hi Castel-Brindisi. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.
If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 23:04, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
