RS comment
Hi. Could you comment at this discussion regarding a source's reliability? It involves a self-published source's use in a featured-BLP article. Dan56 (talk) 01:36, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
Excellent gizmo
I shouldn't be surprised if you were miles ahead of me as usual, but if you haven't run across Ucucha's duplicate link checker tool I have installed it chez TR and am v. pleased with it. Tim riley (talk) 16:10, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Favour
Hi Cass, Do you have time for a quick favour, in and around the T-T write up? I've been asked to copy edit S&M (song) for a push for FAC. It's been through the mill an astonishing nine times already. I've done what I can, but it still needs something of a workover. I think that part of the problem is in the nature of the beast: parts of the article are lists of remix versions and release dates, which don't make for an easy read. Anything you can do when you've got some time would be much appreciated! Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 21:00, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
- Will do, it's on a list (but at the end I'm afraid). -- CassiantoTalk 10:42, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
- Not a problem: I know there's always a million and one other things to do here and RL! No rush - it's already had nine bites of the cherry, so a bit of a delay until the next one won't hurt it too much! Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 11:33, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Possible FAC
Hello there. I see you were the user who left comments concerning the FAC of Sharon Newman. I was wondering, should you have the time, if you could maybe take a look at Cane Ashby to see if it would be worth nominating for FAC? Perhaps you could give me your overall feel of the article and how much more work it requires? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance! Regards, Creativity97 01:48, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

discography and stage performances
Thank you for giving us all the details about Dan Leno's performances - his discography and appearances - who was great in "life's mundane subjects, mixed with comic songs and surreal observations", - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

You are right. I am ashamed of myself. But, trust me I wasn't knowing about Canvassing. It was very hard experience for me to deal with. I just saw the article was failed, but I'm upset not over the article (though upset too) but for loosing faith of a veteran who helped me very much. I'm very Sorry to the reviewers who participated in it but due to my foolish behavior, it went downhill. But, trust me I wasn't knowing about canvassing. I lost everything today. But, could you please help me with some advice as I'm looking forward to it. Now, I would Change my perspective things, read all guidelines and more than that I will respect every criticism and the editors who are here going wonderful edits. More, I will look to as many FACs as possible to learn.—Prashant 00:07, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- I am not vindictive, so I bear no grudge. I would have offered you advice, but it appears you are throwing a hissy fit again, so I shan't engage with you no further. -- CassiantoTalk 10:06, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- You have misunderstood that. I removed everything from my talk and user page as I really don't want to talk any discussion on my talk page. It was not particular for your post. Why everyone is discouraging me to leave Wikipedia? I'm also a human being and I too can do mistakes (fac). But, why you are taking it negatively as I never thought you would feel that I had removed your post in particular.—Prashant 10:32, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- If you don't want to take part in any discussions, then don't. Deleting your talk with an edit summary of "I don't want to talk anymore" comes accross as rather petulant. Take my advice, have a wiki break and steer clear of FAC for the time being. Come back in a week or two and draw a line under this blot. We are all human and we all make mistakes. The dust will inevitable settle in a few weeks or to, but please come back in a better frame of mind. -- CassiantoTalk 17:05, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you Cass for the advice. You are right, we all are humans. I'll definitely come back with better state of mind. Thank you for understanding me. :)—Prashant 03:38, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Main Page appearance
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of the article Songs, sketches and monologues of Dan Leno know that it will be appearing as the main page featured list on July 8, 2013. You can view the TFL blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured list/July 8, 2013. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured list directors The Rambling Man (talk · contribs), Dabomb87 (talk · contribs) or Giants2008 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured list. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. Thanks! The English comic actor Dan Leno (1860–1904) performed various songs, sketches and monologues that earned him vast popularity during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Leno originated and popularised many songs, sketches and monologues which he performed in his music hall acts, and he recorded some of his work shortly before he died. Although his recording period was brief (1901–03), he produced around thirty recordings which were released by the Gramophone and Typewriter Company. For his music hall sketches, Leno created characters who relayed comic observations on everyday life in London. He aided his repertoire by purchasing songs from the foremost music hall writers and composers of the day, including Harry Dacre, Joseph Tabrar and George Le Brunn. Le Brunn's compositions earned Leno the most success; "The Detective", "The Jap", "All Through a Little Piece of Bacon" and "The Detective Camera" proved popular with London audiences and elevated Leno to the forefront of music hall entertainment.

Question and Review
Hello, I was wondering what you deleted my comment, I strongly beleive that it is obligatory since someone reviewed my previous FL candidate and I happen to agree with that user. Also, because if the site goes down, the source is no longer available. Would you like that to happen, I am giving you great advice. Furthermore, How dare you deleted like that? Without even contacted me, this is rude and repulsive. I took time to reviwew you're article, and this is how you repay me by saying: No thanks. SoapFan12 12:49, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- Firstly, unless the rules have changed, this is NOT obligatory. This has not come from an FL delegate, so I presume this is not an essential part of the FLC. I have sat many FA's and FL's and this is the first time I have ever been offered this as an ultimatum. As far as I can see, it is not an obligatory part of the process. Furthermore, I do not want to dish out my personal email address to people or companies who I am not familiar with (which is what the link is asking me to do). It appears you haven't reviewed the article as you have not offered any comments or views. You have given me a conditional support in exchange for my signing up for this service. A support should NOT be based on this, it should be based on the criteria needed for FLC. -- CassiantoTalk 13:05, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I am very sorry. I did not want to give you a ultimatum. I beleive it was needed, but if you don't agree with me, that okay. But next time, just don't say No thanks, that hurt me a lot. I was giving you great advice because if the site goes down, the source is no longer available. And I don't think you want that to happen. Again, I apologize and I hope you can forgive me. Furthermore, I know you will be not pleasent with this question because we are a bit disagreeing with me howewver would you be interested on reviewing Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, it is currently a FLC. Again, I am very sorry and I shouldn't of come on to you like that. I thought it was essential part of the FLC because a popular reviewer told me to do that for my previous FL candidate. I am so sorry :( SoapFan12 13:18, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- I did disagree with you, that's why I said "No thanks" in my edit summary. You chose to assume an uncivil undertone in terms of my response which is your problem. Incidentally, you shouldn't post this conditional support request on FLC's. Your support or oppose should be based on the FLC criteria. I will review your FLC to show no hard feelings, but please take note of my advice. -- CassiantoTalk 15:27, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

- Thats ok Crisco, its not your fault at all. My problem is not with the link, its more to do with his willingness to Support on condition nominator's sign up to this website. I think its all sorted now, but it would be good to have a note from a delegate to set the record straight. -- CassiantoTalk 16:02, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

All your issues were resolved at the flc. Removed fluff, trimmed lead and edited. Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Priyanka Chopra filmography/archive1. Also, I can't say In 2003, In 2003 (The same year). Please, see this filmography.—Prashant 19:04, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- That was not an exhaustive list of comments. I don't feel as if all of my concerns can be ironed out at FLC, which is why I suggested a peer review instead. I don't know why you asked me to look at the Bale FL. That is different inasmuch that it is very well written. I think Chopra has a little way to go before it is up to that level. --CassiantoTalk 19:09, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- I told you to see CBF as you said that I should use year. If you can see it has same kind of structure. I can't say In 20xx, In 20xx all the time. That would look repeatative no? Also, Don't you think FLCs are made for improvement? Constructive comments are welcome. It can be improved in this flc also.—Prashant 19:33, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- FLC's are supposed to be ready to go. This is not. It needs a heavy copyedit and Dr. B's concerns addressed. Please don't start being argumentative, indulge in the advice that's being offered. There is no rush. -- CassiantoTalk 19:56, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

- Thats ok. I see Tim riley has joined the party which is excellent. There is not much Tim doesn't know about classical music as his FA's will prove. My advice would be to keep the PR open, don't be offended by our honesty and indulge in the advice which is offered to you. I am not finished yet and I will go through it further. It would be best to answer each point directly under ours in the edit screen, to signify what has been done. I imagine the peer review to go on for a good few weeks yet and the article will get better with time. -- CassiantoTalk 23:13, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey
Hey Cass! you got me wrong. I was not rude. I just wanted to tell you that you had promised me to look at it this week. If you that that I was being rude. Then, I'm very sorry for that. I know real life is far more important than any other articles her. But, i just wanted your feedback. You had earlier helped us so much on that fac. As, per your suggesstions i held this PR. I'm very sorry agin if you felt that. You are like a teacher to me, who helped me alot and I cant be rude with my teacher.—Prashant 17:36, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- "I held that PR as per your suggestion. It's been a week and there is not a single comment to resolve. I wish fulfilling promises were as easier as sugesstions as it was your suggesstion to open a PR. Please, come up ASAP. Thanks." — That comes across as rude. I won't be participating. I may comment at FAC (for which I think you are lucky bearing in mind your latest comment). I think you have had enough reviewers at PR and I would care to not have you leaving rude messages on my talk again. You have been warned about this before! -- CassiantoTalk 17:55, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
If you see this. I was concerned with the delayed PR that's it. My intention was not to hurt anyone. I will not post any rude messages again. I will take care of that. Thanks. But, there are not many reviewers at the PR. It's okay and i can understand.—Prashant 18:04, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- What's to be concerned about? Sometimes, things don't always work out how they are intended too. WP comes last I'm afraid and no amount of badgering on a talk page can make the bump and grind of real life go away. Go to FAC and see how you do.SchroCat has had his say so I'm sure the article is already ten times better than it was. -- CassiantoTalk 19:26, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
Yes, Schro helped me alot and the article has improved since then. Thanks. I'm waiting for Blofeld's take on the article. I'll nominate in few weeks.—Prashant 02:19, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
Repeated personal attacks
Since you are aware of Prashant's behaviour on Wikipedia, can anything be done about the repeated attacks directed against me here and here? Frankly, I am tired of responding to the millions of threats that have been directed against me, and feel that editing here is a colossal waste of time when such comments are directed towards my work. --smarojit HD 18:52, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- You can report him to to civility police if you feel that aggrieved by him and his comments, but in my experience this may just amount to a warning. I think the less people who engage with him the better. My advice will be to Illegitimi non carborundum. -- CassiantoTalk 19:19, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

About Kafka's atheism.
You can find the sentence (nicthtzionistisches und nichtgläubiges Judentum) here (page 258). About the translation: in "Letters to Felice", Schocken Books, 1988, page 423 they translated it as "non-Zionist, nonpracticing Judaism" (then here), but "nichtgläubig" (as ungläubig) doesn't mean "nonpracticing", but "unbelieving", "faithless", since "Glaube" is "belief" or "faith".
My italian version of "Letters to Felice" does underline this atheist statement in the book's introduction. I could maybe use that. --EntroDipintaGabbia (talk) 00:25, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thats fine, but simply saying "In a letter to Grete Bloch (June 11, 1914) he declares..." would simply not stand on its own in terms of proof. As long as you can evidence what you are saying reliably then I don't see an issue. -- CassiantoTalk 04:36, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
Kellie Loder
Hi Cassianto, I know we've never interacted on Wikipedia before, but I was wondering if you would consider reviewing my current FAC for the Kellie Loder article. I noticed that you reviewed the Ringo Starr FAC and thought you might be interested in this FAC as well. Any constructive comments you would be willing to provide at the corresponding discussion would be greatly appreciated. Neelix (talk) 21:11, 23 August 2013 (UTC)

Julianne at FAC (at last!)
Hello Cassianto! How are you? You may have noticed that I disappeared off the face of Wikipedia a few months ago. It wasn't at all planned, I just suddenly (for the second time) had a complete aversion to it, heh. I have an odd relationship with this place. =) But I'm back now, and since Variety magazine has put its reviews back online, Julianne Moore is now ready for FAC. Very little has changed since you last reviewed it. Back in March you said you'd be willing to chip in at the nomination; if you still feel able to comment that would be great, but only if you have the time and inclination. No worries at all if you are too busy.
I see you have a couple more FAs under your belt - congratulations! Hope all is well with you. (Disclaimer: this is being shamelessly copy + pasted at SchroCat's page, for ease, but the sentiment is genuine) --Lobo (talk) 16:34, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Lobo, thanks for letting me know and a huge welcome back! Yes, I noticed you had disappeared, but I hoped your desertion would be brief which it was thankfully. I would love to take part and I will look forward to reviewing her over the next few days. Joseph Grimaldi and Marie Lloyd were my two main FAs which have scored the top prize and both I am equally proud of. Our friend Dan Leno is now a featured topic which is just brilliant. Little Tich will perform at FAC in the next few months (I'm sure Chaplin must've mentioned him). All's good this end, RL has been a bit manic and I'm halfway through a restoration of my farmhouse, but things are shaping up nicely and everything is (almost) back to normal. I will shadow Julianne's doorstep in the next few days. All the best -- CassiantoTalk 16:52, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
- Big thanks Cass. And props for all the hard work you've been doing here, you're a trooper! Let me know if ever I can be of any help. House restoration does sound manic but definitely very exciting, I'm sure it's been worthwhile. As for me, I've just got back from a 3 week trip in South America, which was a great experience. Now just having a lazy couple of weeks before the school year starts up again and it's back to work. Best to you too, --Lobo (talk) 17:22, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Hey Cassianto! Can you go through the article when you have time? It's not long one, so I guess it won't be a big deal. :) Cheers! — Tomíca(T2ME) 12:18, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
I find myself in the unusual (for me) position of opposing an article with three supports. Would you mind having a look at my comments and slapping me with a fish if you think I'm being completely unreasonable/mad/misguided? Thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:06, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) It's only two supports: I haven't gone to support just yet. Personally I don't think you even deserve a thought of a trout. If—in all good conscience—you think there are issues then you have done entirely the right thing. Cheers – SchroCat (talk) 15:15, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for all of your input in this FAC thus far. I have located an additional CBC Radio interview, which contains some information with which I have been able to expand the "Critical response" section. I would be grateful for your thoughts. Neelix (talk) 20:23, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Good stuff (I copy edited it slightly). Do we have a not so nice critical response to balance things out? -- CassiantoTalk 20:48, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Not that I can find. If there were any formal reviews for her albums, this would be a lot easier, but I don't think there have been any. Thank you for the copyedit. If Loder hasn't received any negative reviews, can the article about her be featured? My attention was recently called to The Fox and the Hound (novel), which is a featured article with a solely positive "Reception" section. Neelix (talk) 04:28, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
- I think it can, but we have to keep in mind WP:POV. Can Loder be featured content because of its short length? Sure. On the face of it, the article seems as comprehensive as it can be for such an unknown artist. As long as it can satisfy the criteria, I see no reason why it can't be featured. Although my comments have been answered, I think we now need to satisfy Jim's concerns for it to go any further. Keep up the good work. -- CassiantoTalk 09:05, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Stanley Holloway
Hi Cassianto
Why did you revert[1] my edit to Stanley Holloway?
Is there some dispute about whether Holloway was male? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 02:26, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- As far as I know he was never a transexual lol. I use a tablet and the screens are ultra sensitive, so I must have touched rollback accidentally without realising. I reverted myself Thanks for letting me know. -- CassiantoTalk 07:39, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for your prompt and friendly reply, and for your self-revert.
- These errors happen horribly easily :( Rollbacks is a 1-click tool, and my own mistaken mouse clicks have sometimes had similar effects .
- BTW, it was only after your revert that I spotted how this fine featured article was largely you work. Congratulations! --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:55, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
- Your more than welcome. Likewise, thanks for coming here for clarification first (and for the compliment). Holloway was my first FA and I shall always treat the article (and the actor) with great fondness. IMO, the rollback tool should have a preview screen prior to establishing the final edit. This would save on a whole load of embarrassing reverts such as this. Keep up the great work with the cats, you certainly have been very busy! Best wishes. -- CassiantoTalk 11:07, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
FAC request
Hi Cassianto. I'm Wikipedian Penguin. I've noticed that you frequently comment on music articles. If you have time, could you take a dab at an article I've worked on, "Love the Way You Lie"? (no rush whatsoever) Thank you in advance. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 18:39, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
Given your interest in contributing to the main page scheduling discussions, I feel it is appropriate to inform you that you have supported a 2-point article for September 28th and now a 5-point article has been nominated for the same date at WP:TFAR.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 07:53, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
- Done Tony. Sorry, but I had to oppose for that date, but would happily support for any other. Nothing personal of course. -- 10:29, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
Le Mesurier
OK, I did. Please check the talk page out when you get the chance. Yours, Quis separabit? 18:25, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Main Page appearance: Terry-Thomas
This is a note to let the main editors of Terry-Thomas know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on October 4, 2013. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/October 4, 2013. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:
Terry-Thomas (1911–90) was an English comedian and character actor, known to a world-wide audience through his portrayals of upper class cads, toffs and bounders. His dress sense and style were striking, as was the gap of a third of an inch between his two front teeth. He worked his way through uncredited film parts in the 1930s before wartime service with Entertainments National Service Association and Stars in Battledress led to a post-war career on stage and then into How Do You View? (1949), the first comedy series on British television. He appeared in British films such as Private's Progress (1956), Blue Murder at St Trinian's (1957), and Carlton-Browne of the F.O. (1959). During the early 1960s he worked extensively in Hollywood, providing a coarser version of his screen persona in films such as Bachelor Flat, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and How to Murder Your Wife. After being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1971, he spent much of his fortune on medical treatments. He lived in poverty towards the end of his life, existing on charitable hand-outs, before a 1989 charity gala in his honour brought him financial comfort for the remaining months before his death. Not sure if this is the appropriate place to say thank you for the barnstar? I appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mightyhansa (talk • contribs) 16:17, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Quote: "No, Brian that's fine. I think the review has been quite through and the comments so far have been quite excellent; with [three] satisfied reviewers," - just for the record, i am also satisfied with the article :). GermanJoe (talk) 08:51, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Oops, did I say three I of course meant four...maths is not my strong point Joe sorry. ;) -- CassiantoTalk 08:55, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- (too lazy for a new section) Added a bit of info to the FAC-image questions (hope it helps). If you need further assistance, anytime. GermanJoe (talk) 13:31, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
