Or, you can just type {{Help me}} on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Troubleshooting Wikipedia's look and feel with skins

Wikipedia should function and look right in any web browser. However, depending on the layout of an individual page and the Wikipedia skin set in your User preferences, a page layout might be broken in your browser. If the problem occurs on a single page, edit the page to fix it yourself. If you cannot fix it, put a message on the Talk page for the page (a screenshot always helps!). If the problem occurs on all pages, try a different skin. Your browser might have some minor issues. These are listed at Wikipedia:Browser notes.

A tag has been placed on Leboncoin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon

Hello CassiJevenn. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CassiJevenn. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CassiJevenn|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. CUPIDICAE💕 18:53, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

"Vandalism" on Kylian Mbappé article

[edit]

I understand if you believe the story about Kylian Mbappé potentially being involved in a rape investigation in Sweden should be included on the article before Mbappé has even been confirmed as a suspect by Swedish authorities, though I strongly disagree with it pending any serious ramifications for his career even without him being a suspect, but reverting my edit and calling it "vandalism" (WP:FAITH) was frankly a bit ridiculous. I brought it up on the Talk page as well.

It is in my view that at this point it is inappropriate to mention the rape investigation unless Mbappé is publicly named as a suspect, or at the very least it should be made clear that it has not even been publicly disclosed whether or not he may be implicated. November 2024

[edit]

Information icon Please do not attack other editors. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.

If somebody undoes an edit with an actual explanation that is clearly in good faith, please do not revert that without offering a rebuttal expecting to just get your way. And you most certainly should not threaten users because they dare go against you. It is perfectly valid to undo an unexplained edit, so you shouldn't be demanding anyone "stop that" either. Learn how to behave or you'll quickly find yourself on the other side of the kind of complaint you're so happy to threaten good faith edits. If you had wanted to collaborate in good faith, you would have not unexplained reverted my first edit but either undone it with an edit reason like "the name appears in the source", or started a discussion. You didn't, so you have no place to later act like it's a sin I didn't read your non-existent message.

And this is before we get to the matter of the obvious promotional nature of the edit you're trying to force-include. Because if we're talking about the source, let's make it clear: there's the main contributors, the ones listed in the Wikipedia article and with significant coverage in the sources, and then there's all the bit parts that are just there in the source as a name drop and no indication of their contribution. There's also many more of those than just the one you want to add - you're trying to make it appear through Wikipedia as if this one singer was more important on this project both than she was and than any of the other secondary contributors. That is not supported by the source. Kingsif (talk) 21:37, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
