Spyware
Which is, currently, the best software to remove spyware? Cambalachero (talk) 20:55, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- Opinions differ on which is the best, but see Spyware#Anti-spyware programs. Dbfirs 21:05, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
- I like Spybot – Search & Destroy, because it is a robust program "released as freeware for personal users. Corporate and technician users have to buy a commercial version. The paid-for versions contain a bonus anti-virus component that uses the BitDefender engine." I hope this tip helps. The Transhumanist 13:09, 24 May 2015 (UTC)

Possible sources for Argentine music?
Hey Cambalachero! I've been compiling sources that may be useful for new users at WikiProject Latin music. I was wondering if you know any sources that might useful for novice editors who are working on articles related to Argentine music. It can be anything such as online reviews, music section on Argentine news sites, or any general information about Argentine music. I've been compiling the sources here and have already added CAPIF and Premios Gardel. Erick (talk) 15:19, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
WikiProject Women's History and Amelia Bence
I believe that your revert of inclusion of Amelia Bence in Women's History was incorrect. Per the project criteria on biography: "The biography of a woman born before 1900 is generally within the scope of this project. The biography of a woman born between 1900 and 1950 is within the scope of this project if reliable sources discuss her life or career in the context of women's history or as contributing to significant societal or cultural change. The biography of a woman born after 1950 may be included only if she has exceptional and verifiable historic significance. Spheres of notable activity include but are not limited to: politics and society, law, an art form, the military, labor, education, health, commerce or consumer protection, humanitarianism, sports, or science and technology. "Exceptional significance" should be demonstrated on the article's talk page by a clear and reliably sourced statement of what the person did or achieved that made a lasting contribution to the world." Bence is undoubtedly one of the most significant contributors to "an art form" in Argentine history. Please undo your revert. Thank you. SusunW (talk) 17:48, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- And which is Amelia's lasting contribution to the world? That bar is higher than mere notability, and does not include fame. Cambalachero (talk) 18:18, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Seriously? While I am generally one who champions the unsung sheroes who are not celebrities, as Wikipedians, we are supposed to have NPOV. Argentina has awarded her and it is documented in the legacy part of her biography. Not just once, but several times: "In 1981, the Pablo C. Ducrós Hicken Museum of the Cinema designated the Pathé Chamber to her in recognition of her stature as "a first figure of national cinema". In 1995, the Senate of the Nation of Argentina awarded a cultural diploma for her contributions to the culture of Argentina and two years later, the National Endowment for the Arts granted her a lifetime achievement award. She was also made an honorary member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Argentina in 2007." I don't get to decide if her contributions made change. Argentina's Senate acknowledged that her contributions enhanced the culture. Quite possibly the place for this discussion is on the talk page? SusunW (talk) 18:43, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- I don't have a strong opinion about the issue, anyway. Let's do this: mention this at the wikiproject's talk page, and if nobody opposes in some days, we may restore the banner. Cambalachero (talk) 18:47, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
- Done. I guess my question would be if there was no strong opinion, why revert? Why not post a question on the talk page? This "reverting" of Wikipedia is baffling to me. If we are about consensus, why go for the revert before it is discussed? I am not directing that at you, only commenting on how frequently that occurs and how little I understand it. No one is harmed if a discussion is had before action is taken, IMO. SusunW (talk) 18:56, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

The vast majority of Wikipedians don't produce these type of quality works, especially in such diverse fields. Arbitration motion regarding Argentine History
The Arbitration Committee has resolved by motion that:
Remedy 2 (MarshalN20 topic banned) of the Argentine History case is suspended for a period of one year. During the period of suspension, this topic ban may be reinstated by any uninvolved administrator as an arbitration enforcement action should MarshalN20 fail to adhere to Wikipedia editing standards in the area previously covered by the topic ban. Appeal of such a reinstatement would follow the normal arbitration enforcement appeals process. After one year from the date of passage of this motion, if the topic ban has not been reinstated or any reinstatements have been successfully appealed, the topic ban will be lifted.

Your interest in a review
Hi Cambalachero; You appear to have an interest in finding a second editor for a full assessment for your article on Pope Francis. I have noticed that you have not covered two issues of contemporary interest which might come up and was wondering if there was a reason for this. First, there appears to be no discussion of the position of the Pope on the complex issue of the Uniate churches and the severe tensions being experienced in the Eastern Churches as a result. You do have an Eastern Churches section but no discussion of this. Second, the complex issue of the issue of priestly conduct inherited from John Paul II concering the controversy in the USA of misconduct with children and the assignment of Bernard Francis Law to the Vatican which continues. This was a highly charged issue which might deserve some attention. Would such updates to your article be considered? MusicAngels (talk) 20:42, 5 October 2015 (UTC)
- I don't understand which is that "complex issue", can you be more specific? Or point me to some news page talking about that? As for the priest sex scandals, that topic is discussed in the "Clergy" section. Cambalachero (talk) 14:55, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Your comment in the "Clergy" section was: "Priests who committed abuses are removed by bishops, but bishops were rarely held accountable." However, the assignment of Bernard Francis Law to the Vatican continues without objection which makes this a contemorary issue. Regarding the issue of the Pope's relation to the Uniate Churches, this is made politically complex by Putin taking the side of the Eastern Churches as against the regional Uniate Churches in the troubled region there. I would be revisiting both these issues if you would like to continue with the assessment. All you would need to do is to request that the case be quickly delisted/relisted for nomination so that I could pull it up under my name. I am assuming that you are familiar with the fine article for Pope John Paul II and that you will endeavor to only meet high standards in the article for Pope Francis. MusicAngels (talk) 16:06, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Have in mind Wikipedia:Summary style, Wikipedia:Recentism, Wikipedia:Coatrack and Wikipedia:But for Napoleon, it was Tuesday. The article is about the biography of Francis, not about all the priest sex scandals around the world, or about the ongoing domestic issues at all the catholic churches of the world. Francis may be important for the case of Bernard Law, because of being the highest authority of the Church right now, but what makes Bernard Law noteworthy to be mentioned in the biography of Francis? Same goes for the Uniate Church, what makes that issue so important in Francis biography? Cambalachero (talk) 16:39, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- Also, have in mind that I do not "own" the article, nobody does. I nominated it; that just means that I'm willing to fix any concern that may surface during the review, as long as it is appropiate and within policies. Cambalachero (talk) 16:49, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
- That was not a reference to ownership, since none of us WP:OWN any of this material. There should be no coatracking here of any kind. My understanding is that you are prepared to stick with the assessment once it is started, and that you would continue to speak to the issues as they arise. Your quote is accurate that Francis may be important for the case of Bernard Law, and the same holds for Francis and his role for the Uniate churches under his jurisdiction. If you are prepared to stick with the assessment throughout the process, then all you would need to do is to request that the case be quickly delisted/relisted for nomination so that I could pull it up under my name. Speedy deletion nomination of Fantino (disambiguation)
A tag has been placed on Fantino (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
- disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 02:32, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi! Greetings from Brazil! I've seen you reverted my edits on the article's plot description and while i agree with the motive, i think they might have been too excessive and it's missing narrative details concerning the work. If possible, i would like feedback and aid into combining both versions into a streamlined one that is better overall. Luciuswhite (talk) 17:50, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
DCWC submission declined (3)
Hey Camabalachero, and thanks again for your participation in the Developing Countries WikiContest. The coordinators are unable to accept your submission of this GAN review due to its brevity and lack of clarity on which of the good article criteria you based your decision to fail the nominee. These are much the same concerns as the last time I had to notify you of this. Please see § Good article nomination reviews of the scoring rules for further information, and let me or another coordinator know if you have any questions. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 16:20, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- I made very clear that there are several aspects of the topic of the article (the flag of a country) that were not even mentioned. To get anywhere near good article, the article should have a section on each of the "Missing stuff". Meaning, it fails criteria 3.a., even if I don't go around being explicit with codes and regulations. Cambalachero (talk) 16:38, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Raising concerns about a nominee not meeting the broadness criterion requires some demonstration on your part that the aspect in question is discussed in reliable sources but not covered in the article, which your review lacked. I understand that vexillology articles can typically be expected to cover a consistent list of aspects idiomatic of the topic area which would be conspicuous if absent. However, you need to give the nominator actionable feedback for them to start addressing your concerns, even — and in my opinion especially — in the case of a quick-fail. It's entirely possible that the information you're demanding, such as "
countries with similar and related flags
" or the "meaning of the colors and images
", may not be discussed in reliable sources, preventing their inclusion in the article. This was the primary issue that prevented us from scoring your review. Please let me or another coordinator know if you have any further questions about this. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:35, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

The article El simulacro has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not pass WP:NBOOK
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mccapra (talk) 22:38, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
