Edit summaries
[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! El_C 06:11, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Request reason:
I have endeavoured to correct disruptive material posted on various article concerned with places in northern Somalia, such as Erigavo, Somaliland, Sool, Somalia, Las Anod, Buuhoodle, Kalabaydh and other articles. There is bogus and insincere edits and revisions made by users such as User:Koodbuur, User:El C, User:Kzl55, User:Ciiseciise007 and User:Habar Awal king. I believe these users are attempting to promote the self declared autonomous of region of Somalia known as Somaliland. I have engaged these users in the talks pages of various articles to convince them of my edits, yet they don't respond and maintain there disruptive behaviour - [1], [2], [3], [4] etc. I provided all the sources necessary for my assertions and edits. After failing to stop their deliberate clan motivated agenda to disrupt and reconfigure articles to suit the purpose of Somaliland and the Isaaq clan, i requested dispute resolution [5], however, the issue has not be resolved yet.
Cagadhiig (talk) 19:00, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Decline reason:
I have reviewed those discussions. It's rather obvious that your edits did not agree with the cited sources, whereupon you dismissed those sources (including your own) without providing any better ones. That's highly disruptive. Huon (talk) 19:21, 20 July 2017 (UTC)

Unblock request

Request reason:
I will cease all 'disruptive' editing and provide reliable sources for my edits. Cagadhiig (talk) 21:04, 20 July 2017 (UTC)
Decline reason:
This is now a CheckUser block per Bbb23 below. Sandstein 21:04, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

- What kind of disruptive edits will you no longer make? Can you provide an example of an edit with a reliable source that you would make instead? Sandstein 16:32, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- I would make an edit on the Sanaag article, on the districts segment, only three of the region's districts are mentioned, although there are five districts - Erigavo, El Afweyn, Badhan, Dhahar and Las Qoray. Even the two sources provided list all five districts [6][7], yet only three are listed, this is the kind of dishonestly, that i was trying to prevent. Also, i would make a change to the demographics section of the Erigavo article, here it is mentioned the clans of Dhulbahante and Warsengali are a minority in the city. The source provided for this statement is 20 years old, i would replace it with a more recent sources from the District Conflict and Security Assessment Report - ERIGAVO DISTRICT [8] (2015) & [9] (2013). The reports state the clans which reside in the city, but does not make the bold claim that one clan dominates the city and rest are minorities, since there has not been a census conduct in the city to verify such claim. I have discussed this issue with User:Kzl55 on the talk page of the article [10]. If you think i'm in the wrong and my sources here are not reliable then, i will cease editing this article.
- Ordinarily I would not post in an unblock request, but seeing as I was mentioned, I would like to clarify a couple of points, and I will try to be brief. On the proposed Sanaag edit, describing other editors as dishonest is considered uncivil on WP and goes against WP:AGF, previous example of your use of uncivil language include [1]. Secondly, the two sources you've included relate to a 5 district division that may have been announced, but actually never materialised. Currently there are three districts in that region as confirmed by the UN and also UNICEF (p.8). As for the other change you are proposing, I have already explained to you on the article's talk page why your addition would be considered original research on Wikipedia. You can not remove sourced material because you do not like it, this is not how Wikipedia works.--Kzl55 (talk) 20:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
- For the first point, the five districts of Sanaag where created by presidential decree in 1985[11][12], [13] p.64, in which form have they not materialised? On the second issue, does the source not have to reliable? since it is not difficult to provide a biased source or out of date source.Cagadhiig (talk) 21:28, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
