Speedy deletion nomination of Managed digital allowance
[edit]A tag has been placed on Managed digital allowance requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Please note that simply rearranging the sentences from a source is still a copyright violation. I know that you did not simply copy and paste the entire article, but many of the sentences in your article are directly copied from source material. Gigs (talk) 21:20, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
Managed digital allowance
[edit]I added the hangon tag. You need to go create Talk:Managed digital allowance and explain the rationale for keeping. If you have permission to copy the unisys document and relicense it under a free license, then you can email proof of that permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Recreating the article
[edit]Recreate the article. Place {{OTRS pending}}
on the talk page for the article. The OTRS people will review the permission you sent to the permisisons email and then change it to OTRS confirmed. Make sure that you didn't copy any sentences from any sources other than the unisys one. Remember that you need to say things in your own words to avoid infringing on copyright. [edit]Note that the permission has to be sent from the copyright owner to permissions directly, forwarded permissions cannot be accepted. In accordance to policy, the article's text that is awaiting permission has been replaced by a boilerplate message that should not be removed until the permission matter is cleared OR the article is rewritten using the temporary subpage linked on the template.
Further, I have had to delete your userpage as it was reproducing the article in full - content with an unverified copyright issue cannot remain on display on Wikipedia.

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to User:Bsclarkedc/Managed digital allowance, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot.

- There are a number of problems. Wikipedia attempts to focus on well-established, well-sourced subject matter. It is not a journal where new ideas get published. The concept the article describes is recent, so it will be subject to greater scrutiny. The term "Managed Digital Allowance" appears to be something created by Unisys for marketing purposes. Using Wikipedia to promote a commercial product or service is very strongly disallowed. The two sources don't support the term "Managed Digital Allowance" at all, and they're editorial/opinion pieces, considered less useful for an encyclopedia. There are plenty of sites on the Internet that let you publish your own ideas (blogs, etc.), you might want to try one of those. Hope this helps. —DragonHawk (talk|hist) 00:35, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Ben: You recently commented on my article about Managed Digital Allowance" and why it shouldn't be in Wikipedia. This is a new trend/business model that enterprises are starting to embrace - letting employees choose their own technology and reimburing them or providing them a digital allowance. It's part of the "consumerization of IT". It could have a major impact on how corporations procure pc's, netbooks, mobile phones, PDA's and etc going foreward. I see lots of articles like this in wikipedia - for example:

If it does, and once that has received significant coverage in independent, reliable sources, then it deserves an encyclopedia article. Until and unless that happens, it's not appropriate in this encyclopedia, for all the reasons noted previously.
