Souvenir/Omiyage
[edit]Hi, Boone. I moved the information you added at omiyage to souvenir and reinstated the redirect (so none of your contributions have been lost). The souvenir article is quite short, and there's no reason to break out Japan from it until the section on Japanese customs gets too large (per Wikipedia:Summary style). And I don't think there's much of a compelling reason to break omiyage out from souvenir simply because of cultural differences. Wikipedia articles are supposed to take a global view and cover as many cultures as possible; breaking things out into their own articles and separating things by culture prematurely undermines that goal. See Wikipedia:Countering systemic bias for more on this. Thanks for your contributions, — Brian (talk) 14:02, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
