Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2016 in Ethiopia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gambela (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

About the Polity data series

[edit]

Hi there, I would like to ask some questions about your edits to the page Polity data series. I noticed that you updated the figures on the data set for 2017, but as I outlined in a question on the talk page (Talk:Polity data series), it is not clear where this information was coming from. Such as with this edit: [1], where exactly are you sourcing these scores from? Because my understanding was that the Polity data series stopped releasing new scores around 2015. Others (mostly anonymous users) have also added scores for 2018. But are these real or just vandalism? Thanks. Hibernian (talk) 02:39, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Hibernian: Hi, I did source it but the Excel spreadsheets I sourced came from here. It hasn't stopped in 2015 but they haven't really updated it that much aside from just releasing them there and they don'tannounce it anymore so I can see the confusion. Since the 2018 one isn't out yet, I can assume these are just vandalism. The Ninja5 Empire (Talk) 11:56, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks. I'll check the sources (I have the 2017 version of the excel files now) and I'll make sure the article is correct for these numbers. I might also update the map as well. Hibernian (talk) 04:20, 3 June 2019 (UTC) EDIT: Ok I see you've already done the first part. Hibernian (talk) 04:24, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings & a great weekend to you all. I believe it would be great if the (Requests for uncreated articles) section in our wiki project can be attended to & at least one article be created this weekend as some requests have been pending since 2016. I believe this would be pivotal to the encyclopedia as a whole & a means to get editors who have gone inactive to revive their Wikipedia activities. Sent by Celestina007. A tag has been placed on Category:1977 in Mali requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Problem with your custom signature

[edit]

Hello, I'm sending you this note because you need to update your signature. You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Your signature does not link to your account. This is usually because your account has been renamed.

To fix your signature, you need to find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences and either blank it or change the link to your current account name. Participation in a research study of Wikipedians

[edit]

Hi BiggestSataniaFangirl89,

My name is Lara Yang, and I am a PhD student in Organizational Behavior at Stanford University. As a part of a research study to better understand work dynamics on Wikipedia, our research team is currently conducting interviews with Wikipedians. Because you are an active editor on Wikipedia, we would love to learn more about your work and hear your perspective on how Wikipedia, and open-source communities in general, function to produce and organize high-quality knowledge. We have done our best to learn about the dynamics of collaboration on Wikipedia from secondary sources, which we are hoping to complement with your invaluable first-hand insights. The interview will take around 45 minutes and be semi-structured in format. Any identifying information in your responses will be kept strictly confidential, and will not be disclosed in the analysis nor the research paper. If you are interested in participating, please email me at larayang@stanford.edu or via the 'Email this user' tool on my user page and suggest a few time slots in the upcoming weeks that work best for you. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best, Lara

Rejuvenate WikiProject Skepticism

[edit]

Hello - my name is Susan Gerbic (Sgerbic) and I'm writing to you because at some point you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism. This might have been months ago - or even years ago. With the best of intentions the project was created years ago, and sadly like many WikiProjects has started to go dormant. A group of us are attempting to revitalize the Skepticism project, already we have begun to clean up the main page and I've just redone the participant page. No one is in charge of this project, it is member directed, which might have been the reason it almost went dormant. We are attempting to bring back conversations on the talk page and have two subprojects as well, in the hopes that it might spark involvement and a way of getting to know each other better. One was created several years ago but is very well organized and a lot of progress was made, Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skeptical organisations in Europe. The other I created a couple weeks ago, it is very simple and has a silly name Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skepticism Stub Sub-Project Project (SSSPP). This sub-project runs from March 1 to June 1, 2022. We are attempting to rewrite skepticism stubs and add them to this list. As you can see we have already made progress.

The reason I'm writing to you now is because we would love to have you come back to the project and become involved, either by working on one of the sub-projects, proposing your own (and managing it), or just hanging out on the talk page getting to know the other editors and maybe donate some of your wisdom to some of the conversations. As I said, no one is in charge, so if you have something in mind you would like to see done, please suggest it on the talk page and hopefully others will agree. Please add the project to your watchlist, update your personal user page showing you are a proud member of WikiProject Skepticism. And DIVE in, this is what the work list looks like [2] frightening at first glance, but we have already started chipping away at it.

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Participants page has gone though a giant change - you may want to update your information. And of course if this project no longer interests you, please remove your name from the participant list, we would hate to see you go, but completely understand.

Thank you for your time, I hope to edit with you in the future.Sgerbic (talk) 07:09, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article 2015 in Andorra has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A separate article is not needed. The remaining years of 2010-2017 do not have their own articles. The article 2010s in Andorra already exists. There is only one event in this article, which was made pre-emptively on 1 January 2015. That event is listed in the 2010s article which is already very small. Therefore this article is not needed

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. A tag has been placed on Category:2013 in Montserrat indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. plicit 11:06, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 10 December 2024

[edit]

Change the profile according to the rules, almost nothing on the page is related to wikipedia, just political stances, advertising a bondage fetish and mentioning their bondage images are on deviantart immediately to anyone and everyone who views it, and wikipedia is also not a storage website, random unrelated personal photos shouldn't be on wikipedia, user is using significant resources trying to advertise as much information about them as possible while nearly providing nothing of value for wikipedia's interests. It isn't your own website, its for encyclopedia purposes, and given a look at their edit histories they seem to be a narcisssist who enjoys the back and forth of random edits and antagonizing others, most things on this entire webpage break the rules of wikipedia.  Not done: The image, maybe, but everything else is absolutely fine. WP:NOTWEBHOST only applies to blatant violations, such as promoting your business or writing a complete autobio about your job, your life, your success, etc. Userpages are meant to give someone else brief information about yourself and "known for satirical jokes on Threads and bondage photos on DeviantArt." is FINE per WP:NOTRESUME, which says Limited autobiographical information is allowed, but user pages do not serve as personal webpages, blogs, or repositories for large amounts of material irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you're referring to the userboxes, there's absolutely no problem with that.

This Wikipedian has been here since 2012, and you've came here TODAY. Quite obvious why I'm not accepting this request. Myrealnamm (💬Let's talk · 📜My work) 01:03, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
