Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Beerch. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Draft:Libby Birch, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:03, 13 June 2017 (UTC) THANKYOU So Very Very much For your help ,CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE FROM MANY SUGGESTIONS MADE FROM EDITS IN TALK SECTION OF THE TEA HOUSE AND I AM SEEKING FURTHER ASSISTANCE AND HAVE FOLLOWED THIS RECOMMENDATION . I HAVE STARTED WITH THIS ARTICLE LIBBY BIRCH .I HAVE MADE MANY MANY DRAFT EDITS AND IMPROVEMENTS OF THIS BUT AM UNSURE IF I SHOULD HAVE MADE THE ARTICLE IN THIS AREA/ SPACE ORIGINALLY SO I AM PLACING IT IN THIS SECTION NOW FOR EVERYONE TO SEE AND READ AND EDIT FREELY . I HAVE NO VESTED INTEREST IN THESE PLAYERS OTHER THAN TO SEE THEM ON WIKIPEDIA AS I FIND IT TO BE A VERY WORTHWHILE AND FACTUAL SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR THE WORLD AND THESE NOTABLE WOMEN SHOULD HAVE ARTICLES . THANKYOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK AND GREAT ASSISTANCE , IF THERE ARE OTHER MATTERS THAT NEED TO BE ATTENDED TO THEN PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE THE NECCESSARY EXPERT ADVICE , MANY THANKS for everyones help as i am new to this Greg Ps sorry for using capitals in this reply and thanks again
Birth date on Draft:Libby Birch
[edit]You thanked me for this edit but later, in this edit you replaced the exact date of birth. Please do not include the exact date of birth unless it has already been widely published outside of Wikipedia, or else it has been published by the subject herself, such as on her personal web site. When an experienced editor has removed content, giving a reason, please don't restore it without giving a reason for that action. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:57, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
thankyou for your assistance and help , i actually didnt add it back in deliberatly as i am learning , i thought your edit was actually to do with the refernce i had used on the birthdate so i do apologise and have taken it back out as you suggested , now that i fully understand that matter ..thanks again Greg
Comments on Draft:Libby Birch
[edit]in this edit you removed a reviewer's comment, replacing it with one of your own. There are several problems with this:
- Your comment was in ALL CAPS. This is hard to read, is taken as the equilivant of shouting at people, and is seen as rude. Please don't do it in future.
- Your comment says
CHANGES HAVE NOW ALL BEEN MADE
. This is not correct: 1) you are still over-using jargon. 2) several cited sources do not say anything about the subject, such as <https://www.bna.org.au/>. Perhaps there is a useful source soemewher on that domain, but you must cite the exact page where the information is to be found. 3) you should provide the titles of pages cited, and if possible such further information as the date a page was published, the name of the website or publisher, the name of the author when an author is listed, and always the date you retrieved the source (for online sources). You are doing better on that. - Even when all comments have been addressed, please leave the reviewer's comments in place. This allows a future reviewer to understand what issues have been dealt with.
You are getting closer, i think, to a valid article. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 23:14, 13 June 2017 (UTC) Thankyou very very much for your feedback and edits , i will continue to make the changes you so kindly recommend . I apologise and your assistance helps me learn how to forfill the requirements . thankyou again , i am reading as much as i can but this helps so much . Greg

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Libby Birch, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. David Biddulph (talk) 00:22, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Libby Birch. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Managing a conflict of interest #2
[edit]Higher up this page you denied any connection to Libby Birch. I'm afraid that I don't find that denial credible – you have 383 edits to this project, and every single one of them relates to this person. If have some personal connection you are expected to disclose it (though you're not required to say exactly what the connection is); if your connection involves any financial reward or emolument, you are obliged to make disclosure.
Specifically, our Terms of Use state that "you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation". An editor who contributes as part of his or her paid employment is required to disclose that fact. If you are receiving, or expect to receive, monetary or other benefits or considerations from editing Wikipedia as a representative of an organization (as an employee or contractor; as an employee or contractor of a firm hired by that organization for public-relations purposes; as owner, officer or other stakeholder; or by having some other form of close financial relationship with a topic you wish to write about), then you must disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Kennedygregb. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Kennedygregb|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If you are not being directly or indirectly compensated in any way for your edits, please say so, here on this page. Otherwise, please make the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you have answered this message. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:28, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
- Perhaps I wasn't clear before – I thought that "please do not edit further until you have answered this message" was easily understood, but you seem not to have got my meaning. I'll try again: my question here about your conflict of interest requires an answer; you should give that answer before you make any other edit anywhere in Wikipedia. You are expected to communicate with other editors when necessary – please read WP:COMMUNICATE. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 22:19, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
