Table tennis

[edit]

Tank you for your contribution to the List of table tennis players article. However only victories on single events should be listed togheter with the name of the player. Therefore I reverted your edit. This decision, detailed in the lead of the article, has been taken within the Table tennis project to keep the list clean. Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to 808s & Heartbreak has been reverted, as it appears to have removed content from the page without explanation. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. I have started a Wikipedia:Request for comment on this topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on ESCKaz reliability. This discussion originates from questions on the reliability of the ESCKaz website and if it should be used in Eurovision articles on Wikipedia. It has now being extended to fully review all sources used in articles covered by WikiProject Eurovision, including ESCToday and Oikotimes. This is a very important issue to the project as sourcing is a key part of articles, and consensus needs to be reached on which sources should be used when, where and how. This discussion however has so far lacked a wide range of editor participation, and as you have listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Eurovision I invite you to add your thoughts. In particular more input is needed from editors which have a high level of experience with relevant guidelines/policies such as Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability, and who have up until now stayed outside this debate, though all contributions are welcome. Thank you. Camaron | Chris (talk) 10:58, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Kiribati records in athletics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Codf1977 (talk) 12:53, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Micronesian records in athletics, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Kiribati records in athletics. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Micronesian records in athletics. The article Mia (singer) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. mark nutley (talk) 23:50, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion has begun about whether the article 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SnottyWong express 17:20, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List

[edit]

I made a new list - List of Baltic records in athletics. If you would like, you may help. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:28, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. But why did you remove some events? Pelmeen10 (talk) 19:51, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Because I can't find Latvian or Lithuanian records in that events, so it was impossible to figure out what is Baltic record. All that events is nontraditional. Bearas (talk) 20:03, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are also some records that Estonian ones are not known. So I think it is OK to include this kind of records. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:22, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can add "Latvian and Lituanian not known" with <!-- --> (or with note), but dont hide the record itself. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:29, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, 150 m is, but whats the the second you meant? Two miles record is also world record? Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:33, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

4x400 and 5000m walk are also not known for example. Actually Montell 74 agreed with me. Pelmeen10 (talk) 16:36, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm right with Pelmeen10. Area records do not depend on the fact that every country of it has done a comparable mark in each discipline. So please let the records stay until maybe someone will find more information to correct it. Please consider that a lot of 'old fashioned' and 'exotic' disciplines (f.e. 300m in/outdoor or 400m hurdles indoor will get more and more prominence because of the meeting's chance to mark records). Thank you. Montell 74 (talk) 16:48, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good job! That is what is Wikipedia about! Make a start and go further. To Pelmeen: Next time please use first comparable information of wikipedia itself.;-) Keep up! Montell 74 (talk) 17:43, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"first comparable information of wikipedia itself" - Sorry, I don't understand. But Bearas, could you provide references also. Pelmeen10 (talk) 18:19, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, some baltic records you edited wrong (estonian) you could have seen on lithuanian record page before.;-) Montell 74 (talk) 19:54, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
[1] , [2] , [3]
I meant on the records list page. Pelmeen10 (talk) 19:26, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Evelina Sašenko. 2011 Summer Universiade

[edit]

Why do you think the numbers in the official website are incorrect? I read <!-- --> but I thought it was referring to the numbers that were in the article. Sorry. Jonas kam (talk) 05:01, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because numbers in that link is not the same as it was declared in official news. For example, national Lithuanian education commission released official rapport that only 90 athletes going to Universiade, while in the match.sz2011.org says 110. --08:12, 11 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello Bearas. I have seen you are a very active user in the sports section. We collect results, informations, medal counts from each event of each sport, from Modern Pentathlon Youth Championships to Triathlon African Championships, from canoeing world cup to women's road Cycling World Cup. People from all around the world can follow all results, support their country and discuss about that, sharing happyness for a victory or sadness for a defeat. Would you be interested to take part in that ? I'm sure that as a Wiki's sport contributor you can be very interested to be always updated about all sports, discuss with people and update us with results when you want. I would really like to have you aboard. Obviously the forum is free and non profit. Are you interested ? I'm waiting for your answer. Let me know please.

Because in Lithuanian Wikipedia some administrators said, that this is "worthless thing, and we not need it in Lithuanian Wikipedia", I want to know some opinions of users, who contributing in English wiki Lithuanian articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 06:10, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?

[edit]

Hi Bearas,

In December you received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you! Getting Wikimedians to the Olympic Games

[edit]

Hi. I am part of an effort to get Wikimedians access to the 2016 Summer Olympics as accredited reporters and photographers. Part of this effort includes covering the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Two Wikimedians have credentials to attend these games as reporters through Wikimedia Australia. As English Wikipedia does not allow original reporting, this is largely through Wikinews with a project page found at Wikinews:Paralympic Games. If you are interested in helping to get Wikimedians to the next Summer Olympics,I'd encourage you to assist with Wikinews efforts, and also to work on all language 2012 Summer Paralympic Wikipedia articles before, during and after the Games to demonstrate a track record of success. Thank you. --LauraHale (talk) 05:02, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You lied to me . " - that is the end of this pointless discussion. She decided to be Saszenko. So that will be. Andrzej19 (talk) 18:19, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Bearas

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

The article Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is an article about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject. Matty.007 detagged it as CSD:A7, so running through the motions. PROD, then probably AfD...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 18:12, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lithuania at the 2001 World Aquatics Championships until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 20:25, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including Slavery in Lithuania, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:11, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Some dubious IP edits

[edit]

I just reverted an edit of Shooting at the Summer Olympics even though the sourcing didn't allow me to check it easily. The IP had vandalised British people about 3 hours later and this looked like similar vandalism to me. In doing so, I also reverted another similar IP and went back to your version. The latter IP has also edited Weightlifting at the Summer Olympics and Boxing at the Summer Olympics , both articles you'd worked on, and Finland at the Olympics too. I wonder if you'd care to check if those edits, bumping Finland up the tables, really are valid corrections or just vandalism? NebY (talk) 14:36, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for dealing with them! It's a pity that it's so easy to vandalise those articles - they really need sourcing so that they're easy to verify, but I'm not familiar with the subject area at all. NebY (talk) 16:26, 18 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of European Games sports

[edit]

The article European Games sports has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unnecessary content fork, when information can be in parent European Games article

Hi. I see you are listed as a member of a WikiProject of a Baltic state. I was wondering if anybody who actively works on Estonian, Lithuanian or Latvian articles, would be interested in launching your own Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Baltic), based on the Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic) and Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea would be to try to bring about 1000 article improvements and creations on this region as an enjoyable challenge and potentially things like National Contests with prizes. If you'd be interested and think it's something you might regularly contribute to, comment and sign up at Talk:Baltic states. If there is interest we can move this to a project somewhere and set something up, thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 19:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:27, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Lpf logo.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Lpf logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:05, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

HVDC in Lithuania?

[edit]

Hi, I found the list of HVDC links in Lithuania and a couple of related articles and map images you created (see also articles in lt:Kategorija:Lietuvos elektros jungtys and images in commons:Category:Energy maps of Lithuania).

As far as I can say, it's a major error to use the abbreviation HVDC for many of the described power transmission lines in article titles, infoboxes and filenames. In fact, all lines of the Lithuanian transmission grid included in the list (in particular the 330 kV lines) are standard HVAC lines. The only real HVDC line in Lithuania currently is NordBalt (see/underground cable, with HVDC converter station at Klaipėda). The other HVDC project in Lithuania, LitPol Link, consists of HVAC overhead power lines in combination with the HVDC back-to-back station at Alytus.

Could you please check and correct the relevant parts of text in articles/filenames? --Te750iv (talk) 12:37, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jan Bakuło

[edit]

Yes, this is strange. I provided a link to the article in en wiki-> https://zw.lt/sport/o-roku-ow-sportow-podsumowanie-roku-mijajacego/ and yet another article (but that link I added only to Polish wikipedia https://zw.lt/sport/polak-z-wilna-jan-bakulo-powolany-do-polskiej-reprezentacji/ in Polish, where it is stated that Jan debuted in Polish national Team. That was my source. You can find the part concerning Jan in the section "Polak z Litwy w polskiej reprezentacji waterpolo" (a Pole from Lithuania in the Polish Waterpolo National Team). I don't know if you have any command of Polish but it's an article from the Polish language Lithuanian webportal zw.lt. It is written there just what I added to the page of Jan in wikipedia, namely that he moved to Poland, became a top scorer of Polish League, got Polish Identity Card, was called up to the Polish National Team and debuted in it. I don't know the rules in international Waterpolo Federation (comparing it to football for example). I don't know if it is possible to chamge the national teams. Maybe he was a player of Lithuania junior team, then moved to Poland and became a player of Polish National Senior Team and then returned to being a player of Lithuanian Senior Team? Or he was just called up to Polish National Team but did not debute in it and after that he returned to representing Lithuania but in Senior Team? I really do not know. I see that after my edit You provided another link with the information that Bakuło played in Lithuanian Team in 2020 in European Chmpionship. It is difficult to find something in the Internet concerning such a small popularity sport. But, I will try to find some new information and ask some people that may know more about that situation. If You can provide any new links to his career in Lithuanian National Team, especially before 2020, please do it. I will add this to Polish wikipedia. --Adam Lutostański (talk) 01:56, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2021 Raceboard World Championships, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Hi! Would you be interested in updating the railway map for the Rail transport in Lithuania article?

In particular, adding the projected Rail Baltica routes? Some references with the maps: [12][13][14]. The route from the Polish border to Kaunas has also been approved (although it can still be challenged): [15][16]. Also, there is a more detailed (although incomplete) map of the current railways on VLE: [17]. --Mindaur (talk) 12:08, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 20:05, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article The Howler (video game) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG, only trivial coverage found.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 01:38, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2023 ISSF Junior World Championships. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Thanks for uploading File:Lpf logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2024 in sports, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Athletics. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sportsfan 1234. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more of your recent additions to the page Canoeing at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification because it appeared to be in a language other than English. We can only accept English-language text on this version of Wikipedia; if you would like to contribute to a Wikipedia in another language, please visit the List of Wikipedias and see if a version of Wikipedia exists in your desired language. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 23:03, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Sportsfan 1234 , please note that your statement is factually incorrect as you have removed non-English reference in article Canoeing at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification. English Wikipedia do allow non-English resources as per Wikipedia:Verifiability: Citations to non-English reliable sources are allowed on the English Wikipedia. However, because this project is in English, English-language sources are preferred over non-English ones when they are available and of equal quality and relevance. So unless you can provide English based source for the matter, please ensure that you do not remove the non-English references in line with English Wikipedia guidelines. For more information on how to use references and citations on English Wikipedia please use Help:Referencing for beginners. Bearas (talk) 16:41, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you do not know how to use proper formatting for citations, please do not add them. Please see Citeweb and Citenews and include a translated title when adding sources not in English. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 18:25, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sportsfan, that's crap. Bearas, if you produce clean(er) citations, with templates, translated title, and all the blanks filled in, the article will look a lot better. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 18:52, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Asking for a source to be properly cited with translation is not "crap". Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 22:23, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sportsfan 1234, you weren't asking for it: you deleted the editor's contribution. And you warned them for it. That's crap, yes. Now butt out, please. Drmies (talk) 22:49, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article Monika Piesliakaitė has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Hey, just wanted to point out that after further cleanup from the ANI thread the page you restored (this section's title) and its history is actually at Sport shooting at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Qualification - which might be where it was originally at?
In short: the page as you restored is now a duplicate. – 2804:F14:809B:301:B5E7:BE11:7106:46D4 (talk) 22:41, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
