Speedy deletion of Telos Press Publishing
[edit]A tag has been placed on Telos Press Publishing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 17:44, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from articles you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 19:08, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
This subject is not notable enough for a stand-alone article, but could easily be made a section of the Telos article. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 19:08, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Little context in David T. Pan
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on David T. Pan, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because David T. Pan is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting David T. Pan, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Tpplogosmall.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Tpplogosmall.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:27, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Telos advocacy
[edit]Greetings, Awagemm. I noticed you've added sources to many articles, and while this is usually very welcome, all yours seem to come from one company, Telos Press Publishing. Are you related in some way to the firm? In any case, if you intend on continuing your referencing efforts (please do!) I hope you will diversify your sources a little bit so that the encyclopaedia can avoid the impression of spamming. Sincerely, Skomorokh 02:55, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
I have the article list for TELOS and thought it would be useful for the relevant authors' wiki pages to list their publications. Is this not allowed?
- As long as you're satisfied there is no conflict of interest, and the articles aren't too heavily weighted toward Telos material at the expense of other publishers, I'd say you're fine. Just wanted to check whether anything untoward was going on. Thanks for helping Wikipedia! Mahalo, Skomorokh 03:05, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
I appreciate the concern and the issue, but here is my question: If I have information pertaining to a particular publishing house (but not others), am I not allowed to post this information? While it is true that I am not taking any steps to prevent others from posting similar but different information, I can only share the information that I have. Thus, I am both posting information with which I, in a broad sense, have a COI, and also I am posting from a single source, but it would be a real shame if I simply didn't post the information because I am loosely affiliated with the source (which is how I got the information in the first place), or because I am posting from a single source (because it is the only source I have access to, thanks to the affiliation). I understand that being aware of COI and providing a variety of publishers is very important, but I'm curious as to whether this should prevent me from posting, on the relevant authors' pages, their TELOS publications...? Thank you for your help!

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:32, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
