[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please do not add unsourced content, as you did to Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. TNXMan 14:00, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
I cited references for my edit on the article on Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur when I undid your undo action. I would like to know why you again undid my edit.
- You did not undo Tnxman307's edit, you undid mine. I'm just guessing here, but most likely Tnxman307 reverted it is because of the edit summary you used. I know I would most likely have done the same. Please provide a useful edit summary in the future to avoid such problems. Also, some of the information is still unsourced or using primary sources, so I'm going to leave only the sourced facts. Also note that since you are a student at BESU there might be a conflict of interest involved. I am going to link below some useful information on this. --Muhandes (talk) 17:02, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Hello Avishekdan. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. For your future reference. Best regards and happy editing. Muhandes (talk) 17:15, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
