Waze
Waze used to be open source but has since been withdrawn and made proprietary. Free Cat is free speech not free beer (Can walk up the Cat hierarchy to verify). Cat was left over from when Waze was still open source. -- dsprc [talk] 23:23, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Im not sure how this talk thing works. But you deleted a sentence I added to the Pranknet page because of suspected vandalism. It was however not.

- Congratulations on figuring out how talk pages work! However, I should point out the context of this edit; this edit added the sentence By giving them a blowie. You can see how this would appear to be the sort of test edits or vandalism that some editors engage in. Not to mention that that does not show up in the source [1]. Can you tell me what your source was? --Auric talk 20:09, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
I was in the chatroom. But I'm pretty sure there are videos of it online. I will try and see if I can find it. Might take a while though. I'll report back to you later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.107.226.102 (talk) 22:15, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Peter Sabbath listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Peter Sabbath. Since you had some involvement with the Peter Sabbath redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Magioladitis (talk) 12:12, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello. Thanks for reading Buckner H. Payne. There's a Col Buckner H. Payne who was involved with railroads in the 1850s in Louisiana on newspapers.com. Probably him, but I haven't found a reference to prove it. I'd also like to find out what his role was during the Civil War. Not sure if you can find more.Zigzig20s (talk) 08:22, 27 November 2015 (UTC)

Tweedie
Auric, take as long a wikibreak as you need.
Also, you taught me about a whole new art form I never heard of with your article on George R. Tweedie and his magic lantern shows. I don't suppose you could point me to a video of one of his shows, could you? Thanks, Oiyarbepsy (talk) 04:43, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
- Sadly, no. Film was in its infancy at the time.--Auric talk 07:22, 10 December 2015 (UTC)
Cox Family
I was looking up the richest families in the US and found that the fifth richest family was the Cox family. I was trying to find out more information on them and got to The Cox Family Wikipedia page and was confused by the fact that it had nothing about their wealth. It just said that they made music. On the page where I found their wealth it said that they made there money through media but how could they have made over 30 billion dollars just from writing music. I had to be on the wrong Cox Family page so looked for the disambiguation link but all i could find was a redirect link that kept bring me back to the page I was at before. So I opened a new tab and searched for The Cox Family again and found Cox Enterprises. This page had little information for a company that was over 100 years old but before I research more I wanted to fix the redirecting problem so that I didn't have to leave Wikipedia to get to that page I wanted. Also do you know if The Cox Family and Cox Enterprises are the same family and if James C. Kennedy is apart of the Kennedy political dynasty. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.208.248.154 (talk) 17:19, 12 December 2015 (UTC)

Khulekani Khumalo
Hi, I came across your article User:Auric/Khulekani Khumalo, from a few years ago. It seems like a reasonable start, and I think it should be moved to mainspace. There could certainly be more detail added about the music, but the news coverage of his reappearances seems to address any questions about notability. Any reason it shouldn't be? Rigadoun (talk) 18:47, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Hi Auric,
I am interested in GPS Mishap section that you created here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_navigation_device. Missing sock
Hi there. I was just going through some red-linked categories and came across a sockpuppet template with no user in it that you added (diff) back on 20 July 2014. I don't suppose you can remember who it was meant to be? If only to salve my OCD of that red link... <g> Le Deluge (talk) 23:43, 8 March 2016 (UTC)
- I'm afraid not. You can ask Elockid, who did the actual block. In the meantime, I've replaced it with a template that doesn't produce a red link.--Auric talk 01:44, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

I do not fully understand this.. "This article needs additional citations for verification." What more verification is needed for a place called St. Albans Sanatorium, Wheeldon Manor, Ashmore Estates? you have wiki pages for them... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:486:2:AD7B:7C2C:2B95:774D:BD1C (talk) 23:01, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
- Since the episodes haven't aired, there is no way to verify that that is what the episodes will air as. Episode titles can change. Also, there is only an article for Ashmore Estates. The other two place have no articles. Feel free to create them.--Auric talk 22:07, 19 May 2016 (UTC)
noinclude tagging?
Just curious why you are adding noinclude tags like these: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Webcam&type=revision&diff=721930338&oldid=721785391 ? --Versageek 22:55, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
- Because this and several other articles were transcluded into History of videotelephony, together with their reference sections, resulting in a mess of reference errors. --Auric talk 23:27, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
- I thought it might be something like that. Hopefully the tagging doesn't cause problems for other functionality like printing or creating PDFs. Thanks, --Versageek 01:02, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

Greetings, Auric!
I see you placed a Conflict of Interest warning on the user talk page of Whatisinanamr. I have been working with him to get this article about his wife corrected, and tried to make sure he made a proper COI declaration, but it seems my instructions failed. I have now marked his user page with the UserboxCOI template, making his COI declaration more or less complete. But I am writing to thank you (yes, thank you!) for catching this and leaving the warning. It was the right thing to do, and though I don't suppose you get many thanks for such things, I am giving you mine. I have noted your "wiki-gnome" activity over the years here on Wikipedia, and have always found your actions to be well-done. This was another of those. Well done. And again, just thanks for doing what you do. That's all! KDS4444 (talk) 13:23, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

A kitten for you!
Hi Auric--I see you were kind enough to fix up the problems I created on my own Wikipedia page with the references. I can't for the life of my figure out what I did wrong on them--could you give me an idea so going forward I can do it properly? I wasn't sure what Title meant. Is that the title of the web page, or the title of the article? In any case, thank you for your help, and random acts of kindness. David Mattingly
Davidmattingly (talk) 21:02, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- The main problem was in your capitalizing parameters. Most parameters in a cite template must be lowercase or an error will show. The title is whatever you think is best. Usually the title of a web page and the title of an article are the same thing. Also note that dates that are single digits are to be represented as such. Putting a double digit, such as 04, in a field where 4 is expected will show an error.
- I hope this is a help to you.

hey auric remember me ?
I taked out that page because in the picture description , it was written that nude boys bathing nude in India . But that's isn't true example because in India nudity is banned and they were some small (in age ) boys who are innocent and dont know about these things ( of not taking out clothes in front of public) . So i thout that it shouldn't bea nice example , and it's also making a bad image of India in front of world 🗺 .☺☺☺ Ultrastarine (talk) 16:28, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why you say this is not a "true example", since the image and the description make it plain that it is so. As for "making a bad image", see WP:MOLEHILL.--Auric talk 16:39, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Auric talk 23:24, 23 October 2016 (UTC) - I simply removed the Turkish letter of 'İ' from the English spelling of the word (I)skenderun and replaced it with the English letter of 'I', as a capital 'I' with a dot on top (i.e. İ) does not exist within the English language alphabet, and it was indeed the English language version of the Iskenderun page which I edited. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeyy77 (talk • contribs)
- The problem with your edit was that that was the name of the page (İskenderun) and the accepted name of the place. Doing so also broke the template {{Turkey district areas|Hatay|İskenderun}}. Please use the preview button next time, before submitting your edits.--Auric talk 19:29, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Brink's-Mat robbery
Hello Auric, Because of the Brink's-Mat robbery anniversary two days ago, I came across this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brink%27s-Mat_robbery. I saw that you have made the last changes to this wonderful piece. I noticed that there is a dead link in the References section ( "Article". Retrieved 22 September 2009). If you need a replacement resource, we have very thorough article covering this particular robbery: We'd be honored if you'd consider replacing the bad link with a link to our content.
