Thank you for improving article quality in April! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:44, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
- Happy to help when I can. And Gerda...thank you for all that you do, for your recognition, kindness, and for being an inspiration for so many of us. Atsme 💬 📧 17:39, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
Hmmm...well, this explains it.
Interesting relationship between Google 🛌 WMF. Atsme 💬 📧 16:10, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Hope you're doing well
Hi there Atsme,
It's been quite a while since I reached out to periodically work on my assignments for the famed Atsme's NPP school! But in taking a look at the NPP school project page, I saw you marked yourself down as going on an indef break and are no longer training. So I just wanted to reach out and check in on you--I hope and pray that all is well. Would love to be under your tutelage sometime again in the future.
Let me know how you are, and if ever you need it, I am always open to lend an ear. — That Coptic Guyping me! (talk) (contribs) 00:04, 23 February 2024 (UTC)
- What a pleasant surprise! Thank you for stopping by and sharing your kind thoughts, That Coptic Guy! I’m still around, just not as active here now as before, but still helping when I have time, and keeping an eye on my emails. I’m also active on VRT over at Commons. My newest hobby is trying to learn a bit more about coding, but with no aspirations (or ability) to be a developer, and then came LUA and AI, and my synapses quit firing. I may take you up on your offer of an ear, and any extra eyes you can spare!!😂 What I’m most looking forward to now is getting back to warm and sunny Bonaire where life is simple and fun! ❤️🤗 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atsme (talk • contribs) 08:03 February 23, 2024 (UTC)
- I'm jealous, Atsme! Do you live in Bonaire now or are you just there on vacation? I'm happy you're finding some stress relief and expanding your hobbies - but please know you'll forever be valued here on WP--at least on enWiki--as a fine editor. And yeah, the future of coding is a big topic of discussion with the advent of AI, to your point. Will software engineering be the new elevator operator? Only time will tell. But we will never NOT need valuable human editors on this project, so don't be a stranger! ;) — That Coptic Guyping me! (talk) (contribs) 17:20, 23 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving articles in May! - Today's story mentions a concert I loved to hear (DYK) and a piece I loved to sing in choir, 150 years old (OTD). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:06, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
Today's story is about Samuel Kummer, one of five items on the Main page - more musing on my talk --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:43, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving article quality in June! - Today we have a centenarian story (documentation about it by Percy Adlon) and an article that had two sentences yesterday and was up for deletion, and needs a few more citations. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:08, 20 June 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for improving article quality in July! - Today's story is about a photographer who took iconic pictures, especially View from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Manhattan, 9/11, yesterday's was a great mezzo, and on Thursday we watched a sublime ballerina. If that's not enough my talk offers chamber music from two amazing concerts. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:59, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Good article reassessment for Crab dip
Crab dip has been nominated for a good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. Z1720 (talk) 20:37, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Z1720...the concerns mentioned don't even apply to this recipe so why on earth, after all this time, are you notifying us of a reassessment? We should not be injecting WP:OR in our GAs, not to mention the fact that GAs are not FAs. Northamerica1000 - do you have access to any recipe history books that document the origin of crab dip? If so, does it also have the origin of taco salad? I want the original recipe of taco salad including the origins of the tortillas, if they are corn or flour, fried or baked, and the origin of the beef that goes into the taco salad, and all the other details. The recipe itself is less important. Atsme 💬 📧 20:38, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- I have not asked for the original recipe of the dish, nor for a description of the original ingredients. If that information exists and can be verified, that would be great to add into the article. The history of a dish can include many things, including its first usage, changes over time, who would make and be served this dish, and other historical information. Of course, if this information cannot be verified in reliable sources than it should not be included. If this is an unreasonable request, please comment on the article's GAR so that it can be resolved. Z1720 (talk) 20:47, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Just curious...what attracted you to the crab dip article and motivated your GAR? Are you a chef? j/a The GAR states: This article is missing several sections, including its history, the cuisine it is used in, and its uses outside of the United States. Z1720 (talk) 3:37 pm, 9 September 2024, last Monday (2 days ago) (UTC−5) History = "original recipe" which can be claimed by anyone...and is likely to necessitate OR. How old is mayo? Oh, and look at the OR tag on Mayonnaise. Okie dokie - I will respond at the GAR. Atsme 💬 📧 18:19, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
- I am checking all good articles for their adherence to the good article criteria. Last week, I happened to go through some of the food articles and posted concerns if I had any. Z1720 (talk) 01:33, 12 September 2024 (UTC)

Feedback request: Reliable Source Noticeboard
Hey Atsme, hope all is well. There is a discussion about using sources outside the topic of dogs/animals to cite information about dogs/animals at the WP:RSN here[1]. As a member of the WP:DOGS I figured your input may be valuable to the community given that it has the potential to impact other breed's pages.Unbiased6969 (talk) 04:21, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- Unbiased6969,I do miss my wikifriends, and teaching at NPP School, but I don't miss the advocacy editors, POV pushers, ANI, drama boards, and all the "meanies" I've had the displeasure of encountering. I appreciate diverse views, but not the POV warriors. Anyway, Justapedia keeps me busy with little time to contribute here. I hope all my wiki colleagues will take the initiative to email me if I don't respond right away to a ping, or comment here on my UTP. Warmest regards! Atsme 💬 📧 14:37, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
Styling your user/talk pages
Hey @Atsme, I see above that you're busy with life off-wiki of late, I'll try not to take up too much of your time. I was wondering if you'd consider removing the explicit color: black
/ text-color: black
and equivalent styles from the various <div>...</div>
s on User:Atsme and User talk:Atsme — they're really messing with the dark-mode chi of the pages. (Lots of black-on-dark-gray text.) Or, if you don't have the time/interest, would you be open to someone else (me) doing so on your behalf? No changes except to preserve the default theme color for foreground text wherever it doesn't need to be explicitly set. (Meaning, anywhere the background color keeps its default theme style.) If you've got everything just how you like it and don't want anyone touching it, that's cool — forget I said anything, and sorry for the interruption! FeRDNYC (talk) 16:13, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

AfD discussion
Saw your post in the Trump fascism deletion discussion. Were you or somebody with the rights to likewise nominate Age and health concerns about Donald Trump, I’d vote on that. Hyperbolick (talk) 19:51, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Hyperbolick - anyone can nominate an article for deletion, so my suggestion is to seek guidance at the WP:Teahouse if needed. There's a great group of editors willing to help over there. I pretty much steer clear of politically motivated articles beyond commenting in the occasional WP:AfC or iVoting in an WP:AfD. I also participate at WP:NPP if time permits. I do my best (which isn't perfect) to avoid venting my frustrations about contentious topics and/or politically biased articles here on WP; see systemic bias. If you're still curious, just click on "Email this user" in the left side margin under tools so as not to disturb anyone, & send me an email. Atsme 💬 📧 20:45, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
