Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Artist789. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Hemphill Fine Arts, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 21:02, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to William Christenberry. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 21:55, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Alma Thomas, you may be blocked from editing. Theroadislong (talk) 21:59, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:21, 5 December 2020 (UTC)- To clarify: I can't see one edit you've made that was not to promote Hemphill Fine Arts. Your first action in this project was to add a link to its website. Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind. If you are interested in making non-promotional edits on topics not connected with that gallery you may ask to be unblocked. You'll need to disclose the nature of your connection to the gallery before you do so; you should also show that you understand what's wrong with your edits to date, and give some examples of useful edits that you might make. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:29, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- The user is an intern for Hemphill gallery, see here [1]. Theroadislong (talk) 21:31, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
Hi there! I am very new to wikipedia and did not know the nature of the guidelines. I am indeed an intern for the organization and was attempting to adjust some outdated information on our already existing wikipedia page. I was adding in new dates of exhibitions that have already occurred and connecting them to the artists we show (which is why I also edited the William Christenberry page along with the Alma Thomas page). I am sorry that I was unaware of the guidelines. I attempted to inquire today how I can restore the nature of the Hemphill Fine Arts page prior to my edits, but I did not add any additional information to any pages. I wish to be unblocked due to the fact that I will not be making any more edits on the page and I was simply confused. Thank you for all of your help. Artist789 (talk) 21:55, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:02, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
What edits will you make? 331dot (talk) 22:38, 5 December 2020 (UTC) 331dot Seeing as though the page I was attempting to edit has been deleted, I will no longer make edits there.
- The question remains, what edits will you make? 331dot (talk) 22:19, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
