map of Samaria

[edit]

The map needs improvement and should be much more clearer. I assume tha the names of the villages are large enough so that they can be seen even when the picture is small, but they just clutter the view. While I assume that this is a map of Shomron RC communities, there should also be other larger independent ones for reference (Kedumim, Ariel, etc...) Check out this one from West Bank page. Template:West Bank --Shuki (talk) 17:48, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I will try to post other maps in the future. This map shows perspective by giving a big picture including three seas, Haifa and Tel Aviv. It seems that most people are not aware how small Israel is and how central and close the Shomron settlements are to major known landmarks. Appleville (talk) 19:41, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Appleville! Please be more careful about adding infoboxes to articles. While the effort is much appreciated, you are adding fields that don't exist, misspelling Shomron in every article, and adding other misleading aspects. Please familiarize yourself with the infobox before mass-pasting it into articles. Thanks, Ynhockey (Talk) 22:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ynhockey, Thanks for the advice. Can you give specific page with the typos. I checked a couple and didn't see the mistake or correction. I will do some more learning about the info box. What excatly do you mean by misleading details? Thanks Appleville (talk) 08:18, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

I reverted a couple of your edits. This is a copyright violation. This is news/copyvio and wiki isn't news e.g. 'said on Tuesday'. Maybe you could rewrite it a bit. Also you misassigned a quote to David Ha'ivri when it was the Jpost journalist's words. Sean.hoyland - talk 15:15, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Sean. I re-edited. Appleville (talk) 00:25, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Tani Zarelli requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 09:51, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Yosef Elbaum has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. My own work area?

[edit]

Sorry, I thought that this article only shows in my own work area and that I can work on editing it over time and then upgrade to the main wiki when I feel that it is ready. Is that not the case. I am working on my wiki editing abilities.

Thanks for your help. Appleville (talk) 10:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries, please?

[edit]

Hi; would you mind trying to remember to enter a descriptive edit-summary about the change you made every time you edit an article? I'd really appreciate that, and I know other editors would, too. ( Reply welcome, but not necessary. If you do choose to reply, please do so right below this text, here on your own talk page. I'll see any reply you make, since I've added this page to my "watchlist", temporarily, in order to make sure I don't miss what you might have to say. Most editors use this "keep the discussion on the page where it started" mechanism/policy, to make "conversations" easier to follow. ) Many thanks,  – OhioStandard (talk) 10:33, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I will keep that in mind. Thanks for your help. Appleville (talk) 18:04, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Salit shomron.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Salit shomron.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 13:01, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Pr WP:ARBPIA3#500/30, editors with less than than 500 edits (or less than 30 days tenure) "are prohibited from editing any page that could be reasonably construed as being related to the Arab-Israeli conflict."

...and that includes all the Israeli settlements, terrorist attacks, etc. Though you have certainly been here far more than 30 days...you still do not have 500 edits. Please edit outside the ARBPIA area until you do, Huldra (talk) 22:11, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned map.

A tag has been placed on File:NYTimes article July5 2010.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
