[edit]Hi. Could you have a look at Small Farmers Party? I tried to translate from fi.wiki, but not sure i got everything correctly. --Soman (talk) 06:59, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- thanx, --Soman (talk) 11:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- And there's lot more to translate from fi-wiki if you want to practise your skills in finnish. I wish I had the time. I'll assist you if you plan to do it.--Ap4k (talk) 12:13, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I must say your really doing a great work at fi.wiki, i'm quite impressed by articles such as fi:Suomen_kommunistinen_nuorisoliitto. I started translating it at Young Communist League of Finland, work in progress. Sometimes grammar gets a bit complicated for me, though. --Soman (talk) 15:52, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm trying to find old photos online to use in article, but its quite hard. Would this be SKNL activists? --Soman (talk) 14:40, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Those are the activists of the opintoyhdistysliike ("study circle movement") from Kotka. It could be used if there's no copyright issues(?) (see [1]). Some other such pictures can be found from KARK-database by the Private Archives Association, of which Kansan Arkisto (People's Archive, where the original pictures are archived) is a member (search for "opintoyhdistys") but the KARK says "It is forbidden to use any of these images without permission of the owner archives."--Ap4k (talk) 15:15, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- I found the following passage at [2], "Rätten till ett fotografi gäller till dess 50 år har förflutit från utgången av det år då fotografiet framställdes." Wouldn't that make 50 year+ old photos public domain per Finnish law? --Soman (talk) 15:37, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Came across commons:Template:PD-Finland50, seems to have answered my query. --Soman (talk) 15:58, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry to keep bothering you like this. I came a across banner with a young communist symbol and the letters 'TJN' in some KARK photos. What does TJN stand for? --Soman (talk) 16:23, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
- It's probably Työväen Järjestönuorten Liitto ("League of Workers' Association Youth" 1917–1928), an early youth organization of socialists and communists... I don't know enough about the copyright issues to answer those questions.--Ap4k (talk) 16:59, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

1982 presidential election
[edit]I have checked the book and it does list 1982 as being a two-round vote with those results. The chapter on Finland is written by Dag Anckar and Carsten Anckar. They cite the information as being taken from the Official Statistics of Finland (Suomen virallinen tilasto), series XXIX issues A:15-A:38. I have no idea which source would be right, so please make a judgement and amend as necessary (I have recently come across a case with another editor where the website of the national parliament appears to be wrong about an election result and am not sure what to do about that either (see the conversation between myself and Renata3...)). The joys of research... Number 57 19:24, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Ap4k. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Ap4k~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
