Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. AN request from a few weeks ago
You requested that an uninvolved admin close the merge discussion on Talk:Massacres of Albanians in the Balkan Wars. But that discussion started and ended in 2010. There's nothing to close. Did you mean a different article? Or did you misread the dates? Qwyrxian (talk) 15:14, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Qwyrxian (talk · contribs) I know that this discussion ended in 2010, but it was not closed. I thought that every merge proposal should be closed with result of the discussion determined by uninvolved editor. If I was wrong I apologize.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 18:27, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Well, per WP:MERGE, if the consensus is clear, any neutral editor can close it, though if it's particularly controversial, admins can. That being said, given that no one actually acted on the merge proposal for 3 years, I don't think we can rely on that consensus being strong. Here's what I think the best way forward would be: Merge the contents, then redirect the article to the suggested target. If anyone reverts, accept that the merge is disputed, then start a new merge discussion (referring to the prior one) and ask for that one to be closed by an admin. In that case, a clear judgement of consensus for a merge would override individual objections. I'll put the article on my watchlist to monitor. Qwyrxian (talk) 22:16, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Qwyrxian, thanks. I was actually opposed to merging (diff) and I am involved in this dispute within particularly sensitive and controversial topic. Are you sure it is appropriate for me to perform the merger? --Antidiskriminator (talk) 23:05, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry, I didn't check to see who said what. Well, in that case, if you don't think merging is appropriate, go ahead and try removing the merger template, with an edit summary explaining why. Then, if that's reverted, restart the discussion on the talk page. Basically, my opinion is it should either be merged or not tagged as pending a merge, because it's obviously not currently under discussion. I felt there was a slight edge to those who recommended a merge in the 2010 discussion, but it wasn't overwhelming, and it's too old to really hold any precedent anyway. And, perhaps the article's been improved and differentiated from the merge target since then. Making a bold edit is the easiest way to see if there's been any sort of solidifying of consensus either way in the intervening time, so long as you don't edit war if you're reverted. Qwyrxian (talk) 23:45, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice which I took and removed merger templates with explanation.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 09:34, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

- "Warning" issued to two editors (link) was indeed not registered on WP:ARBMAC page. Maybe because "warning" was put under quotation marks. Anyway, I don't think that one warning more or less makes much difference in case of both editors in question.
- Start from 1:39 (link)--Antidiskriminator (talk) 07:38, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) No, the word "warned" wasn't put under quotation marks but bolded. The first requires actual marks for quotation to be used i.e. "word", the second uses triple apostrophes on both sides of the word i.e. '''word''' (something about this here). So, this was probably an actual warning. --biblbroks (talk) 18:57, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yes. You are right. Thanks for clarification. I misidentified triple apostrophes with quotation marks (though quotation marks would not make much difference). Anyway, I still don't think that one warning more or less makes much difference in case of both editors in question. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 19:31, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand now when I look a bit more closely. AFAICT this isn't one warning: the edit offered by the anon on this page mentions some three warnings. So these would constitute three logs for three warnings, right? All in one repetitious edit that was repetitiously removed but containing three logs of three warnings. Am I missing something? --biblbroks (talk) 22:37, 29 November 2013 (UTC)
- OIC now. Sorry for disturbance and all the best to you. --biblbroks (talk) 22:50, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

I think we should put the Montenegrin monasteries-task on hold for now; there are far more important things that WPSR should take care of! I have come across numerous stubs and/or duplicate articles that need merging, as well as countless articles with no Cleanup template messages - I think it is time for the members to start using these template messages. I would like to begin a new cooperation with you (and any other interested), this time we should choose any Vital Topic directly related to Serbia or Serbs (which could also be chosen from the Serbian popular pages). What do you think?--Zoupan 11:34, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

- It is not Isa, see this image, it is clearly not him, this person is older, and thinner, and there was several Kosovan Serbs or even people from way afar who bore Albanian dress (as a tactical or fashion-wise decision). I fail to find anything on Boletini joining the Chetniks during these years.--Zoupan 05:40, 14 December 2013 (UTC)

- In your report you mentioned "frustrations" and "limited patience" (diff). A formal WP:RM would actually save you from your "frustrations" and "limited patience" of informal discussion.
- When you emphasized that editor who supported your position was actually of Serb ethnicity (diff) you actually proved that your concerns about ethnicity based voting were unjustified.
- The above two points are additional reasons to go to formal WP:RM, not only in this case, but also in similar future cases. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 10:15, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello
Hello, I am an anonymous contributor to Wiki. I was declared to be a sock so my edits were removed. It would not be such a big deal, but this time my constructive criticism was removed not from the article, but from the talk page of the article: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AKosovo_War&diff=587497816&oldid=587497406
Anyway, I defended sourced content and I would really appreciate it if you could restore the facts (be it on the talk page or the article itself).
I know you probably hate to be involved in such a thing - the edit-wars, the confrontations with (un)reasonable people etc., but I would really appreciate it. TaaTaa 109.106.234.94 (talk) 15:49, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
- Even if the sources you used would be available for me to verify them I would still hesitate to do what you asked me because it would be exceptional claim which requires exceptional sources (which sources you used are not). Additionally, the text you added directly contradicts from what I have read about this subject. I have read in more than one source that NATO and UCK did whatever they could to prevent *completely unnecessary) massive participation of Mujaheddin forces in this war to avoid additionally compromising themselves. If I am not wrong, only small insignificant Mujaheddin forces managed to take part in this war so I don't think it is worth mentioning. On the contrary, it should probably be emphasized within separate subsection how much efforts NATO and UCK placed to prevent Mujaheddin participation. This topic is not my main subject of interest so I don't have intention to significantly contribute to it. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 16:17, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

We noticed though that when you edited Jakov of Kamena Reka, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ottoman Macedonia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ottoman defters
Hi, do you have any source where I can check all Ottoman defters related to Albania? Are they all digitalized? Thanks.Mondiad (talk) 15:57, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) What kind of defters do you have in mind? There were different defters for different purposes. Are you looking for tahrir defterleri or something else?
- However, it may be unrealistic to expect that all defter material for an entire vilayet or eyalet would have been preserved and digitised. bobrayner (talk) 23:22, 27 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hi. I am looking for tax-paying defteris, whatever the name would be in Turkish. Also, were there defteris for population registers, similar to a census as well?Mondiad (talk) 16:28, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Mondiad. I think that the only Ottoman defter of Albania was composed in 1432 and researched and published by Halil İnalcık in 1954. (İnalcık, Halil; Arşivi, Başbakanlık (1954), "Hicrî 835 tarihli Sûret-i defter-i sancak-i Arvanid" [Copy of the register for A.H. 835 for the Sanjak of Albania], Türk Tarih Kurumu yayınları (in Turkish), vol. 14, no. 1, Ankara)--Antidiskriminator (talk) 18:20, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!
Hello Antidiskriminator, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition will begin at midnight tonight (UTC). There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Re: Me
Are you finally preparing a complaint against me, as you have made empty threats in the past? Because I can't find any other reason for all these recent disingenuous notices, other than for them to serve as a stick with which to later beat me with. I did not confront you or inhibit your work, insofar as the implication of bad faith - I have clearly stated some problems that you have created, and corrected a fair few as well. I'm not wikistalking you - I simply have a large number of pages on my watchlist, among which article alerts for several WikiProjects that we both frequent. Such is the nature of collaborative editing - people are bound to notice what you do, whether you like it or not. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 20:04, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- You don't recall how you accused me of admin misconduct a while ago? In any case, I don't have that much free time so I'd prefer to do something productive rather than search for that diff now. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 20:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
- My God, do you really think it's useful to be obstinate about this now? And when I do waste the time to find those edits, what productive result can we get from that? --Joy [shallot] (talk) 17:24, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thankfully, googling is pretty fast - Talk:Noel Malcolm/Archive 2. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 17:26, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
- You accused me of repeatedly acting in a problematic manner, and pointed to rules saying how that should be sanctioned. When I told you to go get it done, you didn't actually do anything. That was the empty threat that I was referring to. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 18:08, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

I have recently re-written and expanded this article, as well as uploaded pictures to Commons. Do you have access to more material regarding him?
The following newspapers should contain info about Gavric, but I can't find any online versions of these on the web:
- Politika, 1983-10-16
- Politika, 1993-04-29
There are also two books described in the article, which I have only found book reviews of.

re: Noble families by nationality
I agree on principle, but 1) Category:Noble families needs some for of grouping cleanup. If you think that by country or such would be better, go ahead and CfD it for renaming. That said, I think it's a technicality that we cannot deal with. We divide people by nationality, despite the same problem (that nationality gets iffy if we travel centuries back). We do the same thing for regular families (see Category:Families by nationality). And note that "XX noble families" are a subcat to "XX families", anyway (ex. Category:Polish noble families is a sub to Polish families, itself a sub to families by nationality. So my new category is simply a technical cleanup, adding a missing middle level. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:36, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- I explained to you why I disagree. If you want my edits undone, take it to CfD. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 17:06, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- The usage of this category is quite uncontroversial as I already explained in my first post here, which I deem very clear. If you disagree, please take this category to CfD. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 20:33, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Please stop edit warring, I'll ask you once again to take this to CfD. Otherwise I'll have to report you for disruptive editing. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 20:44, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- It's mass reverting of another editors' work which encourages conflict. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 20:56, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Antidiskriminator has a good point here. Too much of our content is shoehorned into "national" pigeonholes, but noble families generally belong to an era before such simplistic nationalism; they transcend national boundaries, to the extent that modern nationality existed at all in the centuries when many of these familes were most notable. We need to put less emphasis on nationality, not more. "We divide people by nationality" is part of the problem, not part of the solution. bobrayner (talk) 20:59, 13 January 2014 (UTC)
Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot; we are both trying to improve this project, after all. I started a wider discussion, let's see what the community thinks. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 21:17, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

Third League of Prizren
Hi,
I was about to mark the article above for deletion, but then I saw your name as one of the editors.
I don't find "Third League of Prizren" being ever mentioned in Albanian sources. Nothing. The recent meeting Thaci-Rama in Prizren was ironically name "Third League of Prizren" from the opponents, to make fun of them.[1] No Third League of Prizren exists, at least not from those who are supposed to have created it.The article has definitely issues and I don't see how to bring it neutral if certain things hardly ever happened.
I.e. "1954—1957. Groups for diversions and terrorist acts were infiltrated from Albania into territory of Yugoslavia, killing government officials and terrorized Serbian population of Kosovo" -Actually it was the other way around, British intelligence was sending insurgents through Yugoslavia into Albania. Furthermore, how can it be a League of Prizren, if it allegedly took place somewhere in US.
The main issue is that all the it is based on one sided material.
Mondiad (talk) 13:43, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Prenk Cali was a leader of the great northern Albanian tribe of Kelmendi, a life dedicated to protecting and defending his people and their way of life against all those that dared enter his land. He fought against the imperialism of the Turks, the nationalism of the Serbs, and was one of the first martyr’s against communism. He is officially Albnaian national hero, and he never cooperate with chetniks, these storys were written after his death by communists. Please dont use communist books for references, because second them Gjergj Fishta,Anton Harapi, and Prek Cali are traitors and this is not the truth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlbertBikaj (talk • contribs) 00:31, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

WikiCup 2014 January newsletter
The 2014 WikiCup is off to a flying start, with, at time of writing, 138 participants. The is the largest number of participants we have seen since 2010. If you are yet to join the competition, don't worry- the judges have agreed to keep the signups open for a few more days. By a wide margin, our current leader is newcomer Godot13 (submissions), whose set of 14 featured pictures, the first FPs of the competition, was worth 490 points. Here are some more noteworthy scorers:
- 12george1 (submissions) and TropicalAnalystwx13 (submissions) were the first people to score, for the good article Tropical Storm Bret (1981) and its good article review respectively. 12george1 was also the first person to score in 2012 and 2013.
- Sven Manguard (submissions) scored the first ITN points for 2014 North American polar vortex.
- WonderBoy1998 (submissions) scored points for an early good topic, finishing off Wikipedia:Featured topics/She Wolf.
- TheAustinMan (submissions) scored the first bonus points of the competition, for his work on Typhoon Vera.
- Igordebraga (submissions) has scored the highest number of bonus points for a single article, for the high-importance Jurassic Park (film).
Featured articles, featured lists, featured topics and featured portals are yet to play a part in the competition. The judges have removed a number of submissions which were deemed ineligible. Typically, we aim to see work on a project, followed by a nomination, followed by promotion, this year. We apologise for any disappointment caused by our strict enforcement this year; we're aiming to keep the competition as fair as possible.
Wikipedians interested in friendly competition may be interested to take part in The Core Contest; unlike the WikiCup, The Core Contest is not about audited content, but, like the WikiCup, it is about article improvement; specifically, The Core Contest is about contribution to some of Wikipedia's most important article. Of course, any work done for The Core Contest, if it leads to a DYK, GA or FA, can earn WikiCup points.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to help keep down the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Hi Antidiscriminator, Thanks for the well developed article Yaya (military). In the article a certain Alaeddin Pasha was mentioned and linked. However there were two Alaeddinn Pasha's in the early 14th century. The target of the link is Orhan's brother. But according to Prof. Halil İnalcık, the link should point to Alaeddin Pasha (vizier).
