"Licensed" shows

[edit]

I noticed you added sections for "licensed" shows to a few Nick articles, including Nickelodeon Animation Studio. This doesn't make sense, because Penguins, KFP, Winx, and Monsters vs. Aliens were produced at Nick's studio itself, not licensed from an external company. The wording implies that the shows were made entirely by a studio outside of Nick's parent company, Viacom. In addition to being produced at Nick's studio, DreamWorks was a Viacom company when the show deals were made and Rainbow is still a Viacom company, so Viacom didn't license these shows from anywhere else. Even further, I don't see why these shows should be separated from similar cases like the TMNT shows (using characters that Viacom acquired from Mirage Studios) and the upcoming Star Trek Nicktoon (co-produced with Viacom's sister company, CBS). It doesn't make sense to have a section heading saying "Licensed from" when the shows were made by Nickelodeon, at Nick Animation Studio. I've placed the shows back in the regular section to avoid confusion, as this section was misleading. FunhausFrank (talk) 18:17, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response, it helps me see where the confusion was coming from. The DreamWorks shows and Winx did have pages on the Nick Animation website (here are archives of Winx's page and Penguins' page for example). The recent site overhaul removed any shows that didn't have creator interviews ready, including The X's, Catscratch, as well as the DreamWorks and Winx pages, but this doesn't mean that any of these shows stopped being official Nicktoons. I also know that Nick themselves specifically said that Winx was a Nicktoon here (I'm sure they did the same for Penguins but I don't have a link with me).
As for Rabbids, Nick Animation didn't have a part in the production and you're right that the fourth season isn't involved with Nick at all. The show had Nick's financial participation for the first three seasons but no Nick staff produced it. (I moved it to 'acquired' as the company didn't produce it.) Information icon Hello, I'm Magitroopa. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of programs broadcast by Nicktoons, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of programs broadcast by Nicktoons, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on List of programs broadcast by Nicktoons. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Let's try this again: per WP:BURDEN: "Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed and should not be restored without an inline citation to a reliable source." Troubles with referencing?

[edit]

Anthony, you seem to be having trouble understanding our referencing requests. References go IN the article, not in edit summaries. Readers who want to verify content are not expected to look in previous edit summaries to figure out what the source of the information is. If you don't start adding references in the various articles you edit, your privileges will be interrupted. If you're not sure how to add references, see Referencing for Beginners. Typically it's as simple as adding <ref>http://www.URL.com</ref> after the content you are adding. This is not a trivial matter, so I implore you to quickly get up to speed here, as any unsourced or improperly sourced content may be removed by other editors. Also, if you are editing while logged out, you shouldn't be doing that. Please make sure you log into your account when you edit. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:00, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

September 2019

[edit]

Hi again, I previously messaged you about the DreamWorks shows and Winx. I saw you removed Winx from the Nick Animation lists despite the seasons that were produced there. Your reasoning was that the current season is done without them "similar to Rabbids Invasion", but I'm having trouble understanding that rationale. I don't think it's a similar situation since no one from Nick Animation worked on Rabbids. Regardless, since Nick Animation did produce the show with their production team, it should stay under the lists of Nick Animation originals. And unlike Rabbids, the 8th season of Winx is still produced by a Viacom studio.

It's not exactly citable since nothing's clear-cut, but I did some looking and found that the 8th season of Winx does seem to have some Nick involvement (although their budget was apparently trimmed according to this, haven't yet found the source on that). Episodes like this still say "Music Nickelodeon Inc." in the credits and this page says that the American team is still consulted. If any change is to be made, it should be a clarifying note on the show's entry in these lists, specifying which seasons were produced as originals. Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at List of programs broadcast by Nicktoons, you may be blocked from editing. The Grand Delusion(Send a message) 04:25, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of programs broadcast by Nicktoons; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. The Grand Delusion(Send a message) 18:22, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Note

[edit]

I expanded and clarified the note for all of the shows not owned/produced by Nick, but that still have the channel named in a minor way in the credits. Things like financial participation, the channel name simply showing up in the credits, etc. don't mean that the show is necessarily a "co-production". That term, since it's really confusing, should be reserved for ones that actually had "production" involvement from Nickelodeon's studios, ex. the shows that they co-produced with DreamWorks / Klasky Csupo. Shimmer and Shine, and original research

[edit]

Wikipedia has a No Original Research policy. It means that you can't come to any conclusion that's not explicitly present in the text itself.

We also usually don't consider user generated sources such as Instagram to be reliable but in this case since it's the show's creator's Instagram it's fine. However, unless her IG post explicitly says the show is ending, we can't necessarily conclude that the show is ending. TV shows sometimes have wrap parties at the end of a season, even if they're going to be renewed. I don't know (or care) if the show is continuing or ending, but until there's a source saying this is the last year it will show, we should wait. Ian.thomson (talk) 22:09, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ian.thomson: I looked at Nickelodeon's Upfront 2020 announcement from February 2020, and it did not mention Shimmer and Shine as one of the shows that are returning for the 2020-21 television season. Source: https://deadline.com/2020/02/nickelodeon-renewals-are-you-afraid-of-the-dark-all-that-paw-patrol-blues-clues-the-casagrandes-top-elf-1202862741/
We could really use something that actually says the show has not been renewed, rather than being silent on it. Ian.thomson (talk) 22:34, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ian.thomson: This seems to explain the fate of the show since a Nickelodeon representative replied regarding a renewal. Source: https://www.facebook.com/MooseZeeOnNickJr/posts/2169549196400100

You’re Wrong 😭

[edit]

I can not believe that Jimmy Neutron is off Nicktoons, it proves that I do not want to return to that hellhole. I can not take the aging of nickelodeon, I can’t. Where did you find out they were not playing those shows no more 😨. I feel depressed! 😭. I can not live without nickelodeon being good. I feel uncomfortable with the new shows like Casagrandes, Spongebob season 12, and Loud House. The only things to live with are Sponge and Fairly Oddparents, but I have seen it millions of time. I feel disappointed. AHHHHHHH 😨😰😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I guess I am done with tv forever. Ginordo (talk) 02:13, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
