Unspecified source/license for File:Warrior King.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Warrior King.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Non-free rationale for File:Warrior King.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Warrior King.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 15:08, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Book cover for 'I Will Not Be Born'.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Book cover for 'I Will Not Be Born'.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 17:59, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:51, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Cover of Zviuya Zviri Mberi, a Shona-language novel by Joyce Simango published in 1974.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free book cover being used in a WP:DECORATIVE manner in the main infobox of Joyce Simango. Non-free book cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in the main infoboxes or at the top of stand-alone articles about books, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular book cover which means there's no real justification for using in anywhere (even outside of the main infobox) in the article the books author.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:33, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Martha Mvungi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page English. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Undefined sfn reference in Parmenas Githendu Mockerie

[edit]

Hi, in Parmenas Githendu Mockerie you have used references to "Higgins 2012" but haven't listed the source. THis means that nobody can look it up, and adds the article to Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. If you could supply the missing source it would be appreciated. DuncanHill (talk) 07:52, 29 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

File:Promotional portrait of A.S. Mopeli-Paulus in Basotho blanket and hat, 1953.jpg

[edit]

Hi Andyisediting, You seem to have uploaded File:Promotional portrait of A.S. Mopeli-Paulus in Basotho blanket and hat, 1953.jpg for use in your user sandbox. However, non-free content is not allowed to be used in user sandboxes per non-free content use criterion #9 and also as explained here. If you ultimately intend to use the image in A.S. Mopeli-Paulus because you feel its non-free use is justified there, then that's where you should add the file. Non-free content is required to be used in at least one article per non-free content use criterion #7. Non-free content that is not being used in at least one article is considered "orphaned non-free use" that is eligible for speedy deletion per speedy deletion criterion F5. So, if this file remains orphaned, a WP:BOT will likely tagged for speedy deletion sometime soon and post a corresponding notification here on your user talk page. If you're not ready to use the file, just do nothing and let it be deleted. You don't need to reupload when you're ready to use it, though. Just ask an administrator to restore it at WP:REFUND when you're ready to use. If you've got any questions about this feel free to add them below or ask about them at either WP:HD or WP:THQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:47, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
