This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Andrew Murphy Celtic. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Dave Kavanagh (music executive), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 07:53, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
Hi Larry I take your point above but Dave Kavanagh hired me to write up his wiki page for himself and his company as he is unable to do it himself. I've removed anything to do with his company Celtic Collections and I've also updated the reference links I hope this is now satisfactory. Kind Regards, Andrew — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Murphy Celtic (talk • contribs) 09:58, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
- Since you're being paid to write the article, it is all the more important to follow the advice above. In fact, Wikipedia's terms of use require you to disclose that you are being paid. Please read Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure on this, and ensure that you make the required declaration before editing any further, otherwise you are likely to be blocked from editing. In the meantime, I am going to make the article into a draft, which you can submit for review once you think it is ready to go live. Cordless Larry (talk) 21:53, 8 June 2017 (UTC)
Hi Larry i'm totally new to this and I don't have any experience what so ever in writing for wikipedia and in my ignorance though it would be quite easy to do. Once I get the page accepted and I get paid I will make a donation to wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Murphy Celtic (talk • contribs) 09:56, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- You don't need to donate (and doing so will have no impact on anyone's attitude to you or the article) but you must make the declaration, as explained further at WP:COIDISCLOSEPAY. Please also sign your talk page comments using four tildes (~~~~). Cordless Larry (talk) 10:18, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice Larry it's much appricated! Andrew Murphy Celtic (talk) 10:34, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
