<mistaken block notice redacted>
JohnCD Think this welcome message might also be in the wrong place. And dont worry about the block I've alway said it seems a shame to not know what it looks like to try to edit while blocked . Amortias (T)(C) 21:10, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- It was indeed, and I am covered with shame. I find that it is possible to rev-delete block log entries, so I have done that, though a "ghost" of them still shows, which looks rather fishy. Have a look at your block log - if you would prefer it to show my actual block followed by immediate and apologetic unblock, I will reset it. Renewed apologies! JohnCD (talk) 21:16, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- In the intrests of openness (especially with regards to me running for RFA at some point) I'd rather have it visible so no one can go "what this odd looking block on about here". And again don't worry about it worse things happen at sea. Amortias (T)(C) 21:19, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Restored, and I will testify on your behalf should it ever be questioned! JohnCD (talk) 21:25, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Rugrats articles
Since the ANI complaint was archived, I thought I'd post this comment on your page and also alert NeilN to it. I was looking over the Rugrats articles that the sock accounts were warring over and two of them were formerly redirects and the sock was returning the article to an earlier version.
They went about the step COMPLETELY wrong, they should have raised the redirect issue on the article talk pages instead of edit-warring. But articles had been cut down, several turned into redirects and then they got crufty again and stuffed with content. Since the account socked, whether or not the edits were vandalism probably doesn't matter. But I thought I'd raise the question because I think the original edit warring was because another editor viewed the edits as vandalism instead of a reversion to an earlier version of the article page. Liz Read! Talk! 21:20, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- The edit summaries was what drew me in to start with so didnt note the previous state of articles if im honest. An edit summary on one page stating that the article didnt exist shortly after deleting the content of that page and posting a redirect sounded the usual alarm bells. If memory serves (and I'll go check article histories shortly) I think I picked it up after spotting something on the edit filter warning page going to ahve a look at there contributions and seeing the rugrats issue. Went for the route of least damage but more than happy to go back to the articles and decruft or re-redirect if appropriate. Amortias (T)(C) 21:25, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Liz, I went through the Tommy Pickles history and it seems to have been an article since at least 2007. Granted, it's in poor shape but as you say, a redirect discussion was the way to go. But given what I revdelled, I doubt the editor would have been that patient or civil. --NeilN talk to me 21:31, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Potential admin
Hi, I notice you're on Wikipedia:List of administrator hopefuls. Wikipedia would benefit from more admins. If you have been editing for more than 12 months (preferably 24+ months), and have been editing fairly consistently for the past 6 months (preferably 12+ months) with at least 100 edits a month (this tool will help) - or an explanation for any gaps, and haven't been blocked in the past three years - or a good explanation for a recent block, don't have a recent history of edit warring or arguing with other editors, feel you can explain why you wish to be an admin, can demonstrate some understanding of Wikipedia's procedures and processes, or know where to go for guidance, and are confident enough to go through a RfA, please get in touch with me. We can talk about it some more, and if all looks OK, I'll nominate you. SilkTork ✔Tea time 01:57, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- SilkTork Yes I'd be interested I have a bit of an editing gap at present due to change in work but should be back to normal levels in a week or two.Amortias (T)(C) 21:10, 31 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding, and sorry for delay getting back to you (I turned off alerts for when my name is used in discussions shortly after that function was introduced, as people kept dropping my name into conversations in the assumption I would then get involved - my own assumption is that if people really do want to speak to me - rather than simply drag me into a conflict, they will leave me a note on my talkpage! ;-)). Your contributions count seems OK - it meets my minimum standard for us starting a conversation. Your AfD contributions may be more of a problem, as you mostly vote for delete, and are concerningly out of step with consensus. There may be reasons for that which we can talk about. Would you like to talk a little bit more about your potential for being an admin, and let me look more closely at your contributions? If so, drop a note on my talkpage and I can set up a page for us to chat, or email me (some folks have preferred that approach). Regards SilkTork ✔Tea time 17:00, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
- And I'm now finally back on WP. Feel free to converse here now as its so much easier and save me repeating e-mails in RFA's. Amortias (T)(C) 17:27, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

I'm setting up a page at User:SilkTork/Chicha/Potential admin chat/Amortias. We can chat there. I'm a little busy elsewhere at the moment so chatting may be a little slow, but I have the page watchlisted and will get around to responding, even if it takes a while sometimes.
