Hello @AmandaNP: Happy New Year, I hope you're doing well. I came across List of programs broadcast by Sony SAB where I see vandalism going on with Kaatelal & Sons. I would like to work on the article, but found out you were the last admin who deleted this page as violation. So I thought to have a word with you and take your advice before I proceed. Komala sockpuppets
Hi AmandaNP! I'm writing directly to you since I see you protected the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan page. I'm not sure if SPI is the best venue for this, but Keywan faramarzi is evading a block with a new account Keywankomala. The new account just created what appears to be an autobiography at Kayvan Faramarzi. Thank you and happy new year! --MarioGom (talk) 17:38, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

IP block
hello Amanda I'm hoping you can help me with something. I recently switched my cell provider and upgraded to a new phone, only to discover the ip address associated with it is blocked, and it says you authorized the block. I can also see edits that I didn't make. It looks like the account I use for edits (this one) is unaffected but I am afraid of being falsely accused of sockpuppetry and losing that account. The ban is unappealable and expires in March. Let me know what I should do and if you need any additional information from me. Thanks! Anon0098 (talk) 00:34, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

Got two weeks permission while was away
Hello, Amanda! On December 17th, 2020, you have granted me two weeks permission to review pending changes, see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?oldid=995354648#User:Maxim_Masiutin
That term has expired on December 31st, 2020, i.e. three days ago.
While, unfortunately, I was away from Wikipedia since December 6th, only manage to make a very small edit https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=MEDLINE&oldid=993965067 on December 13th, however, this was just a regular edit, not related to the reviewable pending changes list, as obvious.
Now I'm back and can review pending changes. Could you please reinstate my review pending changes reviewer's permissions, preferably for a longer period, say, two months?
Thank you in advance! Maxim Masiutin (talk) 11:50, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- I definitely understand your situation. I have reinstated it for 1 month. That being said, I don't feel comfortable with the two months. The initial short timeframe is to sort out any issues that may arise early on and is why I give the trials to begin with. If you are two months into using it and we don't notice the issues till then, it is harder to fix at that point. I do understand 2 weeks can be short though, so that's how I settled on the month. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 19:13, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
FYI
Hello A and happy new year. You blocked 197.83.246.141 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) last month. It looks like they have returned to editing as 197.89.10.25 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). There is also a thread about them here Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:197.89.10.25 reported by User:Beyond My Ken (Result: ). This is mostly a heads up in case any other editor asks about the original block. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 18:34, 3 January 2021 (UTC)

An IP editor was blocked for evasion of one of your rangeblocks
Hi AmandaNP. Please see this closure of a dispute about the Baby Esther article. The IP in question seemed to be evading a one-year block that you previously placed, marked as a checkuserblock-wide. I'm letting you know because I don't know the background. Though the 3-month block of the new IP will presumably suffice for the moment. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 21:08, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Ed. I took a look at this in the above section and i dont think its mt target. Thanks for the FYI. -- Amanda - mobile (aka DQ) 21:11, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hm, yes the above section does seem to raise the same question. So if the newly blocked IP 197.89.10.25 (talk · contribs) were to ask for unblock (and not swear at admins while doing so) we should entertain it. If your target is a named sock, are you able to tell me privately, or at the CU wiki? EdJohnston (talk) 22:42, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yep, i'd have no objections unless I took the block over seperately. And I'll go leave it on your CU wiki talkpage. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 01:30, 4 January 2021 (UTC)

Alphabetical lists of films
Hey, just wanted to let you know that the alphabetical film lists are intended only for films that have articles. So if you're removing links with XFDcloser, please be sure to remove the list items here as well. Thanks. Ionmars10 (talk) 22:40, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- I know of no policy that requires removal of items from a list solely because they don't have an article, in fact they can be included with a citation. I'm not going to mass remove them and potentially run afoul of the bot/semi-automated editing policy. Also not sure what you mean by the redlink. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 22:48, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, meant to link List of films: numbers and for some reason didn't think to preview my edit. I'm basing this on the list's own guidelines (which have been in place for a while now) rather than on sitewide policy. Admittedly, this does make reformatting entries a bit tedious in some cases, but I'll take care of those. Ionmars10 (talk) 22:58, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

2021 London mayoral election
Hi. You recently fully protected 2021 London mayoral election. I had asked for semi-protection. The edit-warring came from what appeared to be one IP editor editing against consensus, as per Talk and three different editors reverting the IP editor. The article is now fully protected in the form the IP editor wanted, which appears to be counter-productive. Would it be possible to switch to semi-protection? Feedback on my Pending Changes Reviewer's activity
Could you please provide feedback on my Pending Changes Reviewer's activity? I'm reverting some an accepting some edits. However, in my "Contributions" log I only see reverted edits. You have assigned me the status until 3 February 2021. Will you prolong the status? Thank you! Maxim Masiutin (talk) 11:16, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Maxim Masiutin: I was just able to sit down and review this. I think you need to take a step back and rereview the criteria to decline as i'm seeing several large errors. As a PCR, you are not a content police on what can and can't be included. You can change things without accepting the revision or declining it and then it will be automatically accepted. But you can't revert a pending edit just because it doesn't align with all content policies. Please see the general criteria and the acceptable edits section. In fact, some of the changes you reverted could have been changed with simple fixes. I will review your PCR on a probationary basis for a week so that someone at WP:PERM/PCR can review your next round to make sure it follows with the criteria. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 08:25, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

- Wikipedia has now been around for 20 years, and recently saw its billionth edit!
I can't understand why this was closed as No Consensus. While AFD is not a vote there were 13 Deletes as compared to 7 Keeps. Mztourist (talk) 13:12, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- By actual head count, my view is 12 delete to 7.5 keep, or about a 61% vote to delete. Numerically, that doesn't hit consensus for me. Beyond that, AfD is a discussion of relevant policies, and not just an opinion count. The comments about WP:SOLDIER in the delete camp were not given as strong a weight because it's not inside policy, it's the opinion of MILHIST. I also can't evaluate the sources directly and supervote, so I have to take peoples comments at face value. There was enough of a dispute about what the current coverage was, that that didn't force consensus either. So my next option was to relist. I did not go for this option as it has already been done once with no significant change in the outcome, and I doubted that more discussion, or at least not making a fresh discussion, would have helped. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 14:07, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for your explanation. I don't see where you get 7.5 Keep and assume that you are counting the two Weak Deletes as 0.5 each? Ignoring SOLDIER, concerns over sourcing were raised by many of the Delete !votes, while many of the Keep !votes acknowledged the thin sourcing. Several Keeps gave no policy-based arguments at all "for the reasons of those who want this article kept" and " WP:SOLDIER is an essay and so has "no official status, and do not speak for the Wikipedia community". Tell it to the Marines." and one User !voted twice. I completely understand your NC close of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kristoffer Domeij because of the clear split in views, but I don't see that for Harris. Mztourist (talk) 07:19, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- Fair enough that @Davidgoodheart: voted twice, that still leaves 7 keeps. Either way, people don't have to link policy to invoke policy, and talking about sourcing is invoking WP:V. Either way, I never go down to superpromoting certain votes and arguing each votes strength post-close, because it turns into an absolute mess. I'll have to direct you to WP:DRV if you disagree with my close at this point, and I'd be absolutely fine having it discussed there. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:11, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- I did NOT mean to vote twice, that was absolutely a mistake, sorry about that! I be will careful not to that at future AFDs. Davidgoodheart (talk) 20:48, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- AmandaNP thanks for your response. I'll think it over whether I'll take it to DRV or just resubmit it at AFD in a few months. regards Mztourist (talk) 09:53, 8 February 2021 (UTC)

Global watchlist - Update 8
Updates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script and the Global watchlist extension:
As I noted in the last issue, I received a grant from the WMF to develop the global watchlist script into an extension. That extension has now been deployed on Meta. Visit m:Special:GlobalWatchlistSettings to get started.
I do not plan on any further developments being made to the user script. I have released version 9.1.0 to both the dev and stable versions, which includes a notification about the extension being available when you use the user script. You can dismiss the notification, and the script still works, but it will no longer be maintained.
Those interested in providing feedback for the extension should use the phabricator board, phabricator:tag/mediawiki-extensions-globalwatchlist. Any bug reports about the extension should be filed there.
This will likely be the last update sent to this list.
Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 19:42, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for the note on my talk page. I was not aware that the data directly related to the SPI question on external relationship between socks was problematic. Will keep it in mind. Best! Vikram 03:17, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
Another quick note: on the mobile browser, there is no method to send private data-emails, etc.. Is there any way to enable it? Thanks, Vikram 04:56, 2 March 2021 (UTC)- LOL silly me :-) After several hours it struck me that I should use my email. I read the links a few times to understand the policy better :-) Thanks again. Hi, Amanda. Hope this does not become nuisance to you. I just wanted to let you know that I have left a comment for you at rollback request page. Best practice for granting IPBE?
A user has asked me to extend his IPBE for another six months. They mention wanting to continue using VPN, which I know can be questioned. The person has been around since 2003 and makes his identity known on his user page. I haven't granted any IPBEs since becoming a checkuser, and would welcome any advice or pointers on how to make this decision. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 17:00, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Update: This was VRTS ticket # 202009201007053 from October, 2020 and there's a few more details there about his VPN and the specific rangeblock. EdJohnston (talk) 17:57, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Originally, without looking at their userpage, I would have directed this to be a flat decline without some semblance of realistic concern about surveillance (not just "I prefer privacy"). But given their work history, I could see how there may be concerns about monitoring being done. I'm purposely keeping this brief per WP:BEANS, but I would be willing to grant this extension despite that I would normally ask for a tad more detail. If you wish, you can drop me an email and I can explain further. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 02:07, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Blocked user gets unblocked and promotes genocide denialism on Turkish Wikipedia
Tarik298 a user whom you blocked earlier has been unblocked by Vito Genovese, an administrator in Turkish Wikiepdia. And now this user tries to add the title Armenian Deportation to the article Ermeni Kırımı (Armenian Genocide) and continues to advocate denialism by trying to move the Armenian Genocide page and saying that "Armenian Genocide is defended by Armenian lobby" when I wrote Genocide's existence is proven in international academy. What should I do, can you help me please?--Visnelma (talk) 16:15, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Non-free files with orphaned versions - Vietnamese Wikipedia
Hi! I 'm here because you operate User:DeltaQuadBot that is fixing files in Category:Non-free files with orphaned versions more than 7 days old.
Vietnamese Wikipedia have +5k files with old revisions and I would like to hear if it was possible to use your bot to do a one time run to fix the files?
If yes/maybe we can discuss what to do to make it happen. --MGA73 (talk) 17:57, 18 April 2021 (UTC)
- While it's possible, it would likely need some significant modification to meet what the Vietnamese wiki would need. I will be honest, I don't have much time to go diving through that code at this time. That said, if you can get them all into one category, then I could more easily deal with it. Also I would likely need bot/admin privileges on your local wiki, so you may wish to have that community discussion first. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 12:54, 11 May 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you!
- If both community and you say yes I can either give you a list of file names (like vi:Thành viên:MGA73/Non-FreeOldVersions - it is a bit slow because of the size) or put them in a category. My plan is that it should be as easy as possible for you and it should be a one time run.
- I will go talk to community now! --MGA73 (talk) 16:25, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Amanda! Community have discussed on vi:Wikipedia:Thảo_luận#Xóa_phiên_bản_cũ_của_hình_không_tự_do and they like the idea and agree to delete old revisions with a bot and that you of course should have the rights you need to do so. They have "Eliminators" but if that is not enough then "Admin" should be okay too.
- So my question for you is how you would like the files prepared? Would you prefer a list? A category? A special template? --MGA73 (talk) 14:02, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Global watchlist - Update 9
Updates associated with DannyS712's Global watchlist script and the Global watchlist extension:
Hi everyone. As I noted in the last issue, I received a grant last year from the WMF to develop the global watchlist script into an extension. That extension has now been deployed on Meta. Visit m:Special:GlobalWatchlistSettings to get started.
That grant has ended, and I have requested another grant to continue development of the extension, and figured subscribers of the newsletter about the user script might be interested. You can see and comment on the grant request at m:Grants:Project/DannyS712/Continued work on GlobalWatchlist extension - if you support this, I hope you'll consider endorsing the request.

May be time to renew a rangeblock?
Hello Amanda. A single IP from this range was just now blocked for 31 hours per WP:AN#Block for IP, but I see you did a 3-month checkuser block of the /17 back on 24 December 2020"
User:Masti has also done a global block of the single IP. If you recogize the behavior, perhaps it is time for another three to six month block of the /17 range? Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 21:30, 19 April 2021 (UTC)
Tarik298 Circumnavigating the Block
Hi, tr:Kullanıcı:Kizilokwave is the user whom you blocked earlier, Tarik298 or Tarik289 (He apparently copied his old user page and also there is proof here that they are the same user[1]). He is thus circumnavigating the block. He also reverted my sourced edits on the Turkish article Armenian Genocide (Ermeni Kırımı). Best regards--Visnelma (talk) 17:19, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

DeltaQuadBot's edits aren't marked as bot edits

The username blacklist
Hi Amanda, I’ve heard about the username blacklist, but I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I really need to propose a username component that should go on there. I’m just going to propose it here, since I was redirected to the blacklist from your user page. I propose that we add “I can make my testicles go up and down” because there is a user (or multiple) who have tried making vandalism accounts with that name. That way, every time a user makes an account like that, the bot will report to UAA. Should also probably add in “balls go up and down” because some do it like that. Thanks, 🐍 Helen 🐍 03:20, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- The real username blacklist is MediaWiki:Titleblacklist and you can propose entries on the talkpage.
- My Bot's blacklist is User:AmandaNP/UAA/Blacklist and you can propose entries on the talkpage.

CheckUser query
Hey, NinjaRobotPirate. I've recently been pinged to User:Hockeycatcat's talk page and was shocked to see that he's been blocked. Looking around, it seems the decision was for non-constructive edits and legal threats.
Now, I have no doubts that you are a fantastic admin. But, could you please fill me in on the investigation that has happened prior? Hockeycat was one of the first people I met here when I started actively editing in October, and from keeping in touch with him this seems like something that is completely outside of my circle of expectations of him. Early examples of his kind manner when he helped me on my first GA, Super Mario Bros. 35, are as follows: 1, 2, and our most recent interaction in April, where I gifted him a barnstar for his growing efforts as a Wikipedian.
Recently, my school IP was blocked for a period of a day to persistent vandalism from somebody who edited on school grounds. I was confused and spent the next couple of hours getting in contact with an administrator and they responded to my emails on my talk page (here) and put me on an IP-Block exemption (that user was User:Yamla). I believe Hockeycat had similar issues with this, allegedly blaming IP edits on the apartment he lived in. I believe the main reason my reasonings were believed when I was under an IP block was due to my credibility; for credibility on Hockeycat's side, he's worked on Super Mario Bros. 35 and Pac-Man 99, mainly on prose concerns. In addition, his main contributions are used towards countering vandalism; he's received rollback rights, learned to use Twinkle and Redwarn from User:Ashleyyoursmile, and judging by the slew of bad faith messages he has received in recent times on his talk page he is quite successful with this.
Wanted to mention, I'm in no way affiliated with Hoeckeycat if this is looking suspicious to you. You can check me, but I'm telling the truth in all honesty.
Similar to Hockeycat, I simply want to see the investigation that led up to this. I could probably point out some flaws along the way, hopefully. I originally sent this message to NinjaRobotPirate, but they were only an admin that reviewed the unblocking request and couldn't help me that much. Cabayi also reviewed a second request from Hockeycat and declined due to WP:LITTLEBROTHER. Hope you can help any further! Panini!🥪 11:29, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
- I apologize for the delay in replying here. I'll make it short and sweet for both us. The behavior I talked about in the block log happened on IP addresses with time and useragent overlaps that makes it nearly impossible for it not to have been Hockeycat. This isn't just a shared IP situation. Now I can't disclose those IPs because I could then lose my tools, face an investigation, and potentially be taken to court outside wikipedia. Generally users don't want me disclosing where they live, and that's what an IP address gives you, and what computer/software they use, which is what a useragent gives you. Doing this good-hand, bad-hand logging out is what got the block to be issued. The reason it's a checkuserblock is because of the private data involved. I hope this helps explains. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 13:28, 23 May 2021 (UTC)

- Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
- An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.
- IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.

UTRS for ptwiki
Hi AmandaNP, we are discussing the UTRS system again at ptwiki. We would really like to deploy it over there as soon as possible. Could you point me to the files or messages that need translating? I searched through the github repository and issues, but it wasn't really clear how to do it. Really appreciate your help. GoEThe (talk) 15:29, 21 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the poke and the reminder about this. I've been inactive in development for a bit, especially since my new job. We were in the middle of starting to get it translation ready, but I don't think we are there yet. @Majavah: for updates/notifying of this thread. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 18:09, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
- @GoEThe I think everything else is ready except translations, yes. Most parts of the interface that is visible to blocked users has translation strings built into it already (while most areas visible to admins do not). It still needs to be wired up to Translatewiki or similar, but that in itself is kind of complicated as it is using Laravel's own translation library, and I don't think twn supports it's format directly. It's definitely doable, but needs some engineering time to be spent and I haven't found the time/motivation to work on UTRS in the last few months. Majavah (talk!) 16:04, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
Some files with orphaned versions being ignored by DeltaQuadBot
For example File:Braking for Whales.jpg was tagged as having orphaned versions on June 4 and DeltaQuadBot has neither revdelled the orphaned versions nor added |human=yes
to tell a human to do it. * Pppery * it has begun... 23:17, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't write the original code, so i'm banging my head off a wall trying to figure out what's changed. I'm thinking something with the API because i'm getting weird output but it doesn't error at all. Obviously something is wrong, problem is i'm not sure what. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 18:46, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Pppery and AmandaNP: Is this the reason why Category:Non-free files with orphaned versions more than 7 days old has 800+ files in it?
- That would be correct. I'll try and take another look tomorrow, but I don't know half of what i'm looking at, so a BOTREQ may be in order for someone to take this over or recode it. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 01:52, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- To be clear, the bot is still working, just failing on certain ones. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 01:53, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, sounds good!Jonteemil (talk) 18:13, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Pppery and AmandaNP: Is this the reason why Category:Non-free files with orphaned versions more than 7 days old has 800+ files in it?
Have you gotten around to do it? Category:Non-free files with orphaned versions more than 7 days old currently has 968 files.Jonteemil (talk) 18:23, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
- I think I have found the issue. It seems it's trying to ignore bot versions with this line of code but in the process is ignoring files that have been previously revdel'd too, making the bot think there is nothing to do when there is. I'm not 100% on it, so I'll test the implications tomorrow morning/afternoon and if it works ok, I'll set it up for the bot to use full time. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 02:26, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Awesome! Unfortunately I won't be able to assist you in the code analysis since I can't code myself🙃.Jonteemil (talk) 13:56, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- So it wasn't that, but I think something changed in the API not to include something anymore, so the bot was erroring quietly and continuing on with it's task as it's supposed to. That's why there were issues. It'll likely take a bit of time to catch up but it is working on the files now -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:36, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- It seems to be working as it should now. Category:Non-free files with orphaned versions more than 7 days old currently has 0 files in it. Great job.Jonteemil (talk) 17:12, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

- An RfC is open to add a delay of one week from nomination to deletion for G13 speedy deletions.
- Last week all wikis were very slow or not accessible for 30 minutes. This was due to server lag caused by regenerating dynamic lists on the Russian Wikinews after a large bulk import. (T287380)
- Following an amendment request, the committee has clarified that the Talk page exception to the 500/30 rule in remedy 5 of the Palestine-Israel articles 4 case does not apply to requested move discussions.
- You can vote for candidates in the 2021 Board of Trustees elections from 4 August to 17 August. Four community elected seats are up for election.
Requesting manual review - Free file conflict
- JJMC89 bot "Request revision deletion of orphaned revision(s) per WP:NFCC#7"
- DatBot "Tagging with {{Orphaned non-free revisions}}, see instructions"
- DeltaQuadBot "(Image Revdel) Requesting manual review - Free file conflict"
AmandaNP, @DatGuy and JJMC89: what's happening here? — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 15:39, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Alexis Jazz: DeltaQuadBot refuses to revdel any files in categories listed at User:RonBot/1/FreeCategory (requesting human review on the file instead). That list includes Category:Wikipedia files for discussion, meaning that files that are currently at FFD won't get processed by DeltaQuadBot. The other bots are doing what they are supposed to be doing. The edit summary "free file conflict" is indeed inaccurate, but it's a corner case that is probably not worth fixing. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:59, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
- Pppery, the edit summary is what confused me. Thanks, it's clear now. — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 19:01, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

DeltaQuadBot filtering Korean names
Mostly harmless, but I did notice that DQB makes reports to UAA such as this one, which reported a perfectly normal name with an imo dubious rationale. (Is "ghee" really used as a disruptive username? I have my doubts.) It also suggests that the bot would report usernames that include a delicious and culturally important food. Not sure if or what should be done about this, but I thought I would make a note of it. --Equivamp - talk 01:50, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
Your int-admin flag
Hello AmandaNP, per the Interface Administrator policy (Wikipedia:Interface_administrators#Removal_of_permissions) your int-admin flag has been removed under criteria 1 for inactivity in this area. This will have no impact on your +sysop access. Should you require this flag again in the future, you may re-request at WP:BN. Best regards, — xaosflux Talk 19:00, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

Username Issue
Greetings Respected Wikipedian, I am (anonymous) I created my account 7 months ago just to upload a picture but recently I am thinking to edit Wikipedia as a hobby so created a new account User:EƎ (i know its a cool username) but after looking in my saved password log I founded my old account so I logged back into this account. So I need your help can you please change this account username to “EƎ” if you are wondering for security purposes I can give you the password of that account. Captain4542 (talk) 12:54, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
- The best place to request this would be on WP:CHU#Request_pages. That way experienced renamers can help you navigate what is needed. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 13:59, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
Requesting unblock.
Hey! I'm not blocked, but @Hockeycatcat is. He's done wonderful things on simple, attaining rollback, being polite, dealing with GRP (I have bad experiences with that guy) and I think he deserves an unblock, and his review has been left open for a while. I contacted you as you blocked him. (and oh please, its obvious I'm not a sock of him) . And rn btw he's asleep Elytrian (talk) 16:41, 22 September 2021 (UTC)
Sportstir
The user Sportstir, who I haven’t heard from in a long time, has returned to once again undo my edits. He/she has followed me to reverse my edits in a pattern similar to that of users like Mrm7171 and Patriciamoorehead. Sportstir ignores the justifications I post when I edit. Administrators' newsletter – October 2021
News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2021).
- Following an RfC, extended confirmed protection may be used preemptively on certain high-risk templates.
- Following a discussion at the Village Pump, there is consensus to treat discord logs the same as IRC logs. This means that discord logs will be oversighted if posted onwiki.
- DiscussionTools has superseded Enterprisey's reply-link script. Editors may switch using the "Discussion tools" checkbox under Preferences → Beta features.
- A motion has standardised the 500/30 (extended confirmed) restrictions placed by the Arbitration Committee. The standardised restriction is now listed in the Arbitration Committee's procedures.
- Following the closure of the Iranian politics case, standard discretionary sanctions are authorized for all edits about, and all pages related to, post-1978 Iranian politics, broadly construed.
- The Arbitration Committee encourages uninvolved administrators to use the discretionary sanctions procedure in topic areas where it is authorised to facilitate consensus in RfCs. This includes, but is not limited to, enforcing sectioned comments, word/diff limits and moratoriums on a particular topic from being brought in an RfC for up to a year.
- Editors have approved expanding the trial of Growth Features from 2% of new accounts to 25%, and the share of newcomers getting mentorship from 2% to 5%. Experienced editors are invited to add themselves to the mentor list.
- The community consultation phase of the 2021 CheckUser and Oversight appointments process is open for editors to provide comments and ask questions to candidates.
DeltaQuadBot
Hello, Amanda. I wanted to know why the bot stopped hiding old versions of my files? Quite a lot of them have accumulated. Looking at the logs, bot has become less likely to hide old versions. — Vladlen Manilov ✉ / 09:00, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
- Something definitely doesn't seem right. I'll see if I can look at the code today. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 15:30, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Владлен Манилов: So the sheer numbers in the log do look different, but I don't see anything that my bot is doing wrong per say. Is there a specific file that was tagged and it did not revdel it as it was supposed to? Without a specific error it is hard to look into. The only other thing I can think of looking at File:Garrison Kane.jpg is that DatBot is broken and not reducing the images, therefore there is no work for my bot to do to begin with. If you could clarify the issue, that would be great. Thanks. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 19:34, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
- For example these files: File:Paseo (film).jpg, File:Prince's Tale.jpg, File:Souls of Totality.jpg. Their old versions were supposed to be removed on September 28th. — Vladlen Manilov ✉ / 03:29, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Владлен Манилов: So i'm not sure why, but they are not showing up in Category:Non-free files with orphaned versions more than 7 days old for some reason, which is a Wikimedia bug or something that has changed in how categories in templates work. So the bot sees absolutely no work, because the category is empty. This might be something for WP:VPT to figure out. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 03:56, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
- Okay. — Vladlen Manilov ✉ / 03:57, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Undelete some important articles
Hi @AmandaNP, I am asking you to undelete some pages in Malayalam movies that you had deleted by closing an afd. These articles are listed below. These articles follow WP:NFILM and WP:NFO. These articles are mentioned in the biographies of some famous personalities like Prem Nazir, Sathyan, Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair, etc. If these articles lack references, I will add with it and make notable. These articles are a part of history. I will add all available data with references in this articles, if you undelete. The articles to undelete are following -
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Poothali - Poothali · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Neeli Saali - Neeli Saali · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sthreehridayam - Sthreehridayam · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jnaanasundari - Jnaanasundari · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sabarimala Ayyappan - Sabarimala Ayyappan · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ummini Thanka - Ummini Thanka · ( talk | logs | links | watch | afd ) · [revisions]
So please undelete these articles →MISSION 33 (talk) 17:57, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- With respect, given your very limited 24 edits to the mainspace, your struggle with existing policies as shown by your talkpage, and the fact that others have asked and attempted this before make me lean towards not restoring these, especially en masse. The fact that you also seem to think you can "make" articles notable seems to me that you don't really understand the notability policy. It's not meant for link stuffing to make it notable. Not everyone is guaranteed an article based on the number of links or who they are related with. So my offer to you is I can restore one article at a time to your userspace, and then you can work on it and bring it back to me when you are done to see if it passes the issues that were brought up in the AfD before it goes back to the mainspace. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 04:06, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

GRP
Hi Amanda! I saw your block on User:Wikwikbooks as a CU-confirmed sock of User:Bookswik. Just so you know, Bookswik is GRP, and has already sent me an abusive email, which I can forward if necessary. Additionally, Wikwikbooks is also an obvious GRP sock, restoring the edits made by previous IP socks of GRP, and leaving a customary attack on Antandrus. See Death and state funeral of Joseph Stalin's page history for the full context. You may want to lock both accounts. Thanks! JavaHurricane 10:20, 27 December 2021 (UTC)
