Suggestion regarding DQB
Hello. I was patrolling user creation this morning and came across User:Wangmuncher90001234, which I reported to WP:UAA. I was surprised the bot had not picked up on it. I realize that "wang" is a common name in eastern Asia, but it is also a slang reference to "penis". I think the situation is similar to "anus", which is seen as a name or part of a name in south Asia. Perhaps the bot should pick up on "wang" with a low confidence? --Hammersoft (talk) 17:50, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Hammersoft: I usually try and keep clear of modifying the different lists that control the bot, unless I'm just helping with the syntax. The best place to ask for it is at WT:UAA. The reason for this is I rarely patrol UAA anymore, and I might not see a potential issue of a filter change. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 18:44, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Ping-Pong 6Flamingo (that's a weird subject line)
Hi DQ, not sure what to do here: I was about to file a new report at SPI on Ping-Pong-Ping-Pow as a sock of 6Flamingo, but @Coffee: beat me to it and blocked them as a sock on behavioral evidence. (Thanks for that, Coffee!) I noticed at Little Wizard Tao that this article hadn't been edited in about a year before the 6Flamingo socks, but the disruptions begin with MaelLePetitPrincePuisRoi, which suggests that he might be the sockmaster of this bunch, not 6Flamingo. (MaelLePetit intersects with Ping at Ella the Elephant and at Little Wizard Tao.) If he is, then we'd have to move the socks under that older account. Also, in the SPI I erroneously described MaelLePetitPrincePuisRoi as a confirmed sock of Maelbros, but I don't think that was confirmed. Is that possible? My hope would be that we can condense them if they are the same vandals. Lemme know what I can do here to make life easier. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:13, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

Support request with team editing experiment project
Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! (which I hope it will be very bright, with colors, and Wikipedia everywhere) Regards from User:Micru on meta.

Your signature
Hello there! I'm working on a project trying to bring most of the coding on Wikipedia up to the most current standards (HTML5), and I noticed that your signature is using <font>...</font>
tags which were deprecated in HTML 4.0 Transitional, marked as invalid in 4.0 Strict, and are not part of HTML5 at all. I'd love to help you update your signature to use newer code, and if you're interested, I suggest replacing:
<span style="color:green;">DQ</span> <span style="color:blue;">(ʞlɐʇ)</span>
with:
<span style="color:green;">DQ</span> <span style="color:blue;">(ʞlɐʇ)</span>
which will result in a 119 character long signature with an appearance of: DQ (ʞlɐʇ) compared to your existing 105 character long signature of: DQ (ʞlɐʇ) — Either way. Happy editing! (t) Josve05a (c) 13:50, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Josve05a: Thanks, and Done. Thought I kept my "--" :P -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 23:38, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
Chris?
In you recent arb-vote you refer to "Chris." For the sake of the record and those who don't know who Chris is, could you just use the Username? Thanks. Alanscottwalker (talk) 00:13, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Alanscottwalker: My apologies. When you see their real name on the Arbitration email lists every day, it makes associations, and his username is harder to type anyway :P. I didn't even think about when I wrote it. Anyway, fixed, and i'll try and remember in the future. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 00:20, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
